  1. Time will tell. They gave us a letter when we were offloaded in Southampton last week. They said they would cover up to $250 per day and $100 pp per day for food. You could either arrange own accommodation and transport or Celebrity would do it for you. With all the failures on the ship we decided to do it ourselves. No indication of number of days that are covered or how to file a claim. No one on the ship seemed to know.
  2. The Chat function is only available when an Agent is logged on and not on a current call. I happen to know as I was once a pop up agent on Celebrity site.
  3. Dollar short and day late for us as I tested positive last 6 days ago on a B2B test. On the positive side, we were forced to disembark in Southampton and have had a wonderful staying Southampton . If we had remained I would probably still be in an Ocean View Room on deck 3.
  4. Celebrity is not testing at the end of the cruise except (currently as RC dropped) B2B's. There is always the possibility that if you fall in the 270 day window from last of the initial 2 shots and not boosted you may need to test multiple times dependent on country visited or final destination.
  5. It's amazing that we often never explore the treasures in our own backyard. Next time you will have to take the magic route and view them up close for free.
  6. At home I use Waze about 99% of the time. I initially used it when we arrived but It had so many "Wazer" icons on the screen I could hardly see the route. When I got to our flat I turned off that "feature". I'm on a very slow phone data with the free T-Mobile and it was often lagging so shifted to Apple Maps which I never use. I may give it a try again now that I have shifted off some of the features. One thing I have liked about Apple Maps is it is really good about the instructions especially about which roundabout exit to get off.
  7. He is one to like to get a little icing on each bite. I'm with you. To me the icing is the best part and must be peeled off. LOL
  8. We have had quite a busy week and and dinner were joking saying it felt like a port intensive cruise. We decided tomorrow will be an at sea day and just relax. Shhhh.. Don't tell him, I already planned we are going to Winchester for lunch. I'll let him sleep in and then just say we are going for lunch.... I've always wanted to see Winchester Cathedral. So many of the things we have done this week I have wanted to do for years.
  9. Iain said it's delicious and well worth the work. It has been one of his favorites since he was a child and always to grab one and bring back his childhood memories.
  10. Off to our left we could see the lift and there was a steep staircase to the base of the lift. Beautiful views from our private parking lot. As I left I said to Iain, what do we do if we meet a car coming down.
  11. Ok --- Really Apple Maps - You have to start playing nicely with me instead of playing games and laughing at us. At everyone's suggested we set off to The Needles. Easy enough RIGHT? The drive down was nice and THEN.... It told us to make a right turn and follow road to parking lot. OK that seems easy enough. The road turned to gravel an no where to turn abound until we got to the “Parking Lot” The Parking Lot
  12. We do live in Sunnyvale. I was saying Gilroy was near by. My son lives down in Holster so pass it often.
  13. Loving all the pictures. While it looks exactly what I had hoped to see, we have spent the day on Isle of Wight with beautiful blue skies and 20-21 C temps. Keep up the photos, you are bringing Norway to us.
  14. I would say there's a good chance of it. While on Silhouette the Pub type bar hand 5-6 TV's going at all time with live sports - mostly soccer. The place was often packed. If not you may be able to live stream it on YouTube.
  15. You are welcome. Also you are also always welcome to jump in and post your thoughts and love of Celebrity and Cruising in general. I've gotten to meet so many really nice people here.
  16. We live near an areal called Gilroy which grows about 80% of U.S. production of Garlic. Each year they have a Garlic Festival with every garlic product including garlic ice cream. Unfortunatly many of you may remember July 28, 2019, when a gunman opened fire on the crowd killing 3 and wounding 19. It has dampened the spirit of the festival ever since.
  17. 1. Link to Emil's Photo Academy - https://secure.iphonephotographyschool.com/iphone-photo-academy?q=/ By the way - It's always on sale at 80% off He is a very engaging teacher and you have access to all his recorded lessons. To help he has a dedicated user Facebook Group where you post your exercises and others encourage you and give pointers and suggestions. Some even take your picture and show you a trick they have picked up. He starts out slow on how to hold you phone and then moves on to framing your photo and techniques. Later he moves on to enhancing your photos - Post Photo processing and filters. 2. For Phone Service we have T-Mobile Magenta Plan. At the time I first subscribed I got 3 lines at $99 per month (my daughter uses the 3rd) Free international roaming in about 210 countries. Speeds are a bit slow at 256kbps but adequate for mapping programs, email and text. Sometime I can post my photos on CC. Phone Calls are 25 Cents per minute. You can day pass for $5.00 if you want higher speeds but I've never needed it.
  18. The visit left us hungry. We weren’t expecting much but we’re pleased with bowl of homemade Tomato and Pepper Soup and a couple sweets.
  19. The home is splendid and maintained to perfection. The docents were so friendly and engaging. Anyone for dinner
  20. We fired up our trusty Apple Maps and entered Osborne House as it was top on our list. We were not disappointed. It was about a 45 minute drive. The Rhododendrons are in their prime After purchasing our Concession tickets (Senior Rate) we were directed down a path to the main entrance.
  21. Since Iain isn’t an early raiser I booked a 10:00 ferry returning at 4:00 pm. Turned out to be perfect amount of time. The Ferry Port is only about 1 mile from our place so was a quick drive to the port. Very interesting to see how quickly they turn the ferries.
  22. We had some on the TA but I would say 2-3X more out of Southampton. Still hearing from those that departed the second cruise out of Southampton reporting testing positive after getting home. Also hearing from some of the Crew that just were sent to Deck 3 today after weekly tests. It's like all other diseases it is impossible to point fingers but with the 2X passenger load, no masking or social distancing it is easy to spread quickly. For me I would definitely say the cruises out of Southampton was where I was infected. I tested postie on the 10th day of the 11 night cruise. Iain tested positive on the 11h day. They usually say infection incubation is 5-10 day. I don't want to point fingers but I suspect we caught it from crew. We were never close contact even with a mask with other passengers. The under the table synopsis is that a Passenger in the Penthouse on the TA had a party and had close contact to four RS passengers. 4 days later we lost our first Cabin Attendant and then about 3 days later another stateroom attendant and our Butler. Our butler was in our room 3-4 times a day and we tried to get our masks on but could also have been touch contact.
  23. Ahhh.. We always bring our California weather with us. I have to say we have really had nice weather and enjoying it.
