I agree...Paper maps were great. I had difficulty downloading the maps that Viking provide with the scanable code and the phone screen is so much smaller! i guess I should practice!

I am wondering if the UK prices of cruises are more $$ than those booked in the USA ...and if the difference is the cost of gratuities. AGAIN...Viking please start adding these into the cost to all our fares!

Mickey B....why not a good River Trip? we are scheduled next fall! I have not seen negative reviews. We have done budapest to Amsterdam and France's Finest and enjoyed both.

snookie is your transfer included through Viking? If not, consider hiring a private transfer that would do a tour on the way to Santiago. I know the wine tour company that I suggested offers trnasfers FROM Santiago but maybe the other way too!

the website is a bit different than when we chose! I know we went in the direction not toward Valparaiso since I knew we would see that scenery as we went to meet the ship. We were being VERY careful because of Covid so we did the tour for only 2 but I would definitely think adding more would be fine!

we did the transatlantic to Barcelona and then onto Bergen and a final leg back to Amsterdam...42 days and it was great way way to spend the Spring...

We did this cruise last year starting late February. Pandemic problems aside it was a GREAT cruise. Unfortunately the Falklands were cancelled because no ships were allowed. Our pre-cruise extension was BAD but it was totally Covid related. We did get to do a a private wine tour that was fantastic. Great wine country! Puerto Montt Osorno Volcano, Petrohué Falls & Puerto Varas this was a good tour! Puenta Arenas we did Magdalena Island & Penguin Reserve by Catamaran..this was our best Penguin Experience ( we could not go to the Falklands) OK boat ride and very knowledgeable guides. Ushuaia Great 4x4 and hiking adventure and fun lunch that we ate outside...the guide made this tour Puerto Madryn we were here for 2 days because the Falklands were closed. We did Punta Tombo Penguin Colony and something to see Elephant Seals much to the seemingly surprised guide both were without much wildlife...the lunch stops were horrific (but remember this was time of Covid) those who did the included tour of the the Welsh community enjoyed it! Montivideo we did the wine tour and it was good! We also did the included because we were there twice ( we followed SA cruise with the Transatlantic) This is a walkable fun city to wander about! Truly though this trip is all about the scenery!!! We had excellent naturalists onboard and spent most free time up in the Explorer's lounge watching for birds, dolphins and whales!! Saw them all!!! The bar tenders were also the BEST!!!

I think the scenery from an Expedition Ship would be fantastic. We loved the SA cruise which included a few fjords last winter even with all the covid restrictions on the regular sized Ocean ship. On the trip we also saw a bit of the Norwegian Fjords ( we did b2b cruising) and I would have trouble deciding which was more breathtaking!

We spent 42 days on the Jupiter after Mich3554 got off... started in Valpariso and ended in Amsterdam! The biggest complaint we had was about the TERRIBLE pre-cruise that Viking totally botched and Chile's covid restrictions played role in that too! Our Transatlantic crossing segment was changed significantly but again not really Viking's fault ... they tried their best to substitute. We found the crew was wonderful..we certainly enjoyed the 1/2 full ship too! The Excursion Staff was outstanding as they scrambled to find great things for substitute excursions! We had a wonderful experience!

has anyone done a b2b British Isles with Midnight Sun? I know there are many duplicate ports but I always want to return !

yes we had to pay the increased fee when trying to book flights for Antarctica and then we could not use DELTA! nor pick seats we wanted :(.

Jim, Thanks for taking me along. I finally went to your website today...kept forgetting. It is great!!! My husband is a photo hobbiest!!! Would love to travel with you and Kathleen sometime. We are doing our last continent for New Year's Eve and Pat will be in paradise shooting photos in Antarctica.

I think that is true about a WC. The entertainment, enrichment, included and optional shore excursions, local cuisine, bar service have never been as exceptionally wonderful as they were during our WC in 2018. We have thoroughly enjoyed our many days aboard Viking since that WC but the bar was high! I am not sure even another WC could match that magic again.

yes to each question but the Silver SPirits will NOT be prorated for how many days are left on the the cruise.

What a wonderful day. Good to know it can be done from this cruise especially when there is an overnight in port ....I get nervous on a very long DIY tour about missing the ship!

I really wish Viking would be transparent in their offerings.
