  1. Weird, never seen that... but if I can't get coffee any earlier, I have no reason to be there anyway.
  2. Open or you just mean the coffee machine not prepped and ready? I've never not been able to get in but on both Harmony and Indy in recent months the coffee machine wasn't available until around 7am. Pre-covid it was usually available much earlier.
  3. Chill Island has good spots near both a bar and the Chill Grill buffet. Just go past the hammocks, IIRC.
  4. Agreed on all counts, except I'm usually forced to go to "the basement" on Oasis class to get my coffee (as you know). Still planning to get back on Indy in October, just waiting on a few things.
  5. Not surprising to me given that you were there in the 7am hour. As a WJ enthusiast and early riser, this is what I am accustomed to. It gets crowded later on. It can be very peaceful for dinner too, especially if you don't get there the second it opens at 6pm or whatever. Even if we eat dinner elsewhere, we like to wander through the WJ afterwards just to check out the desserts and anything else interesting. You never know when you might stumble upon a crepe station, special chocolate night spread, etc. Food is a big part of my cruising if you couldn't tell, lol. P.S. Hope your son didn't get into the red bulls. 🤣
  6. Limited sample size for me but same here. I go out of my way to say "drink of choice, diamond drink please" to make sure they don't charge me.
  7. Good luck. We earned out first ever block on Harmony 5/29. I was told it would be shipped in 4 months but I'm expecting much longer. If you haven't read the crystal block threads on here, there's a severe backlog.
  8. LOL. I was just letting you know in case you didn't know there were other uses for his vouchers.
  9. Since you got a Long Island, go try "The Pitch" at Playmakers. It's an altered version with midori and sprite. Funky green color too...
  10. His sea pass vouchers will not get you alcohol but can be used for mocktails, fresh squeezed OJ, soda, bottled water, coffee drinks, etc. There are other differences... like he won't get a free picture or the $6 or whatever in free casino slot play. My slightly older nieces are Diamond and became quite addicted to virgin daiquiris on our family cruise a few months ago, lol. As an uncle, it was fun being able to take the 12-year-old "to the bar."
  11. FYI, you have more than just those two options. If on Oasis class, Park Cafe is one. Other options may vary by ship.
  12. As of last month, Indy had a very enthusiastic washy washy woman from Asia who had "washy washy" t-shirts. She never stopped smiling and singing (she had a few more phrases besides washy washy). My wife even asked her if RC sold the washy washy t-shirts, lol. They don't... and we think they're missing out on a revenue stream. 🤣
  13. Yes. Additionally, you cannot enter the buffet without washing your hands at a large sink station. You will be politely and energetically told to "washy washy!"
  14. ' That makes more sense. Sounds like quite a guy. Complaining about a no-sugar dessert option? Too bad there aren't numerous places to get sugary desserts and skacks 24 hours/day.
  15. It won't feel very different from Liberty other than the new, amped additions like Playmakers, Bamboo Room, etc. As mentioned above, Freedom class is just a stretched out version of Voyager class. Fond memories of Mariner when it was the "big ship" at PC back then, not the smallest of three, lol.
  16. If you don't sit near the DJ, the music isn't loud at all. Our favorite spot by the pool is close enough to hear it but by no means loud (in our opinion). Remember, the OP purchased an Oasis cabana so they couldn't exactly pick where to sit by the pool, it was assigned.
  17. Not the same thing either but they've had Truly (strawberry lemonade, pineapple, or wild berry) on my recent Harmony & Indy cruises. Same on Allure even more recently (info via family members).
  18. Ask the first appointment's proctor if they can do all 4 of you. My wife & I had B2B appointments but the first proctor did both of ours at the same time (which I knew from asking in advance). I can't promise they can do 4 at once. You can also ask them in advance of course. I found their customer service to be very helpful and responsive.
  19. You will get the exact same price at NextCruise as you will if you go straight through the RC website. Unless taking advantage of a TA-related rate (Friends & Family sale, group, etc.) or perk, the only differences are the OBC and reduced deposit (if they still have that).
  20. Stayed on the ship twice last month (also Indy, not that it matters). Try the Port of Calls forum.
  21. Finding out via the bar code is not the same as being officially assigned. When you are officially assigned, your set sail pass will show your cabin #, not "GTY", and you don't need to use the bar code trick. There are differences. In rare instances, your cabin can change from what the bar code initially shows. Also, you cannot change your cabin until it is officially assigned.
  22. Not the OP but that was long before Mariner was moved to using terminal 5 exclusively. Parking in terminal 1 is no problem whatsoever now. I parked in the terminal garage twice in the past couple months, once for Harmony, once for Indy. Although we do arrive earlier than 11:30, you should be fine.
