  1. That was during reduced capacity. The OTW cabanas were nearly sold out on my 5/29 Harmony cruise and are nearly sold out on my 2 cruises next month. Can't tell you what people paid but they are most definitely not half empty now.
  2. I will say the OTW cabana experience was absolutely amazing when my in-laws treated the family for their 50th anniversary cruise a couple weeks ago. Not going to bother discussing the cost, though they did get a very good price a year out. Finances are always relative. To each his own.
  3. Love Cococay without spending a dime! Part of the reason we're doing a 3 and 4-night B2B is to go there twice in a week. Snack Shack chicken sandwiches, mozzarella sticks, and funnel cakes are amazing! Common menu hack is to put the mozz sticks and marinara on top of the chicken to create a chicken parm sandwich.
  4. No, I just either wrote it poorly or you misunderstood. I’m aware that Voyager has a Promenade as it was my first ever cruise for my honeymoon & new-ish at the time. Dropping below Voyager, which I’ve only done twice, was a big difference to me & I wasn’t a fan, which was my general point. Sorry for any confusion.
  5. 1. Their reps are frequently wrong. 2. Technically, this could be seen as correct if you subtract the rooms held for quarantine from “full capacity.” 3. The ships are close enough to full it doesn’t really matter.
  6. If this is you first non-Oasis class cruise, you might feel like a bunch of stuff is missing at first, but since you identified yourself as "easy going", I think you'll be fine. Going on a ship that doesn't even have a promenade might be a different story. Having started on Voyager 20 years ago and mostly working my way up to Oasis-class, anything smaller feels claustrophobic to me but of course many people enjoy the smaller ships as well.
  7. With RoyalUp? No, you're bidding on a category, just like booking a GTY.
  8. Sorry about your friend. Can't answer most of your questions but, FWIW, the cruise planner is working fine for my 2 cruises next month. I can cancel my specialty restaurant reservations for example so your friend should be able to cancel her purchases.
  9. I enjoy the vouchers too, free frozen drinks during the day is nice, especially when you're frugal and not a big drinker and used to just wait for the happy hour and its limited drink list, lol. I still like to stop by the DL for pre-dinner snacks and I'm there every morning to fill my travel mug with cappuccino. Appreciate all the info. I'm used to packed main pools; fortunately we don't really use them. I burn in 5 minutes so I just seek shade when my wife wants a little sun. We usually find a spot in the Solarium (which is of course much much bigger on Oasis-class.) Any chance you've noticed how crowded the Solarium is?
  10. Thanks. So they left the toaster but don't have bagels or bread to toast... sounds right. What you described is basically what I'm used to on Oasis-class. The DL is much nicer on Freedom-class since it's still in the crown, not down in "the basement" on deck 4.
  11. It's a concern when it happens to someone and they're scrambling to re-book a flight. I'm glad you've been so fortunate and hope it continues. Obviously you also fly WAY more than the average person so it's just another flight to you.
  12. I admire those of you who are flying to cruise in the current climate and dealing with the assorted issues and stress. I have enough anxiety waiting for my covid test results and I only have an hour drive to the port afterwards.
  13. Thanks for the report! Haven't been on Freedom-class in a long time but remember having a bagel alone with the DL concierge on Freedom one morning b/c it was so empty. We had a nice chat and watched some English football (soccer) together as it was a Saturday morning. Are there still bagels and a toaster or just the pastries and yogurt parfait type things I had on Harmony recently?
  14. Sounds like a perfect time. You go there after you eat your first lunch at noon or whatever. 😁
  15. And that's all that matters. The beauty of having options. Thanks for adding your quick review. We're doing a B2B next month. Nice to hear walking yourself off is still smooth as that's our preference. Have only done one short cruise ever so I would guess that's more common on them with less packing/luggage required.
  16. Thanks for verifying. That's exactly why I mentioned Mariner being at Terminal 5 now. We parked for Harmony on 5/29 at 10am and there were TONS of spots.
  17. Upload vax card to the RC app and bring hard copies of both vax card and negative test.
  18. Perhaps because Mariner was still using Terminal 1 at that point? I haven't heard of anything like this since Mariner moved to exclusively using Terminal 5 a few weeks ago.
  19. As a 22 year transplanted resident of Florida... I can tell you that Florida has always been "different" long before Covid.
  20. That's roughly when my wife runs. I go for coffee and pastries as my "pre-breakfast" while she's out. We have slightly different lifestyles. It varies by cruise of course. On that Harmony cruise I mentioned, she was out there at 6:15 the first morning and said it was so crowded as she got into her run that she wanted to start earlier after that. No doubt it isn't always like that.
  21. Well played. Extra walking to elevators = less time to eat.
