  1. I plan on buying one there but I wanted to plan my route prior to arrival. Your map will get me started. Thank you again!
  2. Thank you so much for posting these links. I have been trying to find a printer friendly map of Pompeii for my April 22 cruise. These are so great!
  3. I usually tip at 10% of the excursion cost. It's easy and consistent and manageable for me and the guides are very grateful.
  4. One thing you can request is a transfer bench for the shower. It will allow your husband to sit on the bench outside the tub and then the seat will slide on the rails into the tub compartment. he can choose to sit on the bench or then stand in the shower. he will need to be mindful of the shower curtain where it meets the rails. It is a huge help in crossing over the tub wall. This was an option for me on the Ruby a few years ago. I also considered ordering a set of portable grab bars for the toilet that fit together and rest on the floor and stand 31" tall. Good luck and safe travels to you both on your cruise!
  5. Slightly off topic but I would love some recommendations for a lunch spot (ideally fish) near the Blue Mosque/Hippodrome area. Any insights are much appreciated. Regards, Chad
  6. No I was actually happy to do that for dinner. Burger for lunch!😉 I live in Michigan and cruise during the winter months. I LOVE sailing out of FLL and I savor every minute of being on deck on the Ocean. To your point the MDR's are always a solid choice.
  7. My embarkation day tradition is a slice of pizza and a cold drink poolside as I reflect on my good fortune to be on board again!
  8. Sorry to hear of your troubles. I had the same experience with EZ Air for my upcoming flight on Air France. AF has the worst customer service ever. Today I got an email that AF re-booked a flight segment and it now arrives 50 minutes after my connection. They will not refund the seat assignments I paid for because they are "bulk" tickets. I will be reluctant to ever use EZ Air again with the issues i have had thus far.
  9. is the Hollywood Pool presented as an adults only area? When I sailed the Majestic in Alaska there were several families there. I loved watching the kids play with the various musical instruments in the conservatory area too. Kids at play are a simple pleasure.
  10. I believe the AARP price is $450.00. I am going to find out tomorrow when I try to order one! 😁
  11. I enjoyed it. It was not a true French bistro-more French inspired. The food was very good and the service was fantastic. Some people have complained about the ambient noise from the Piazza but I did not experience it as a problem.
  12. I have followed your posts with interest. I am curious; do you drop as many "F-Bombs" in real time as your posts suggest? This is a pretty sedate community and you are an anomaly.
  13. I have done both the train and the bus. Equally cost effective at the time and equally convenient.
  14. to each there own...if he likes it rough why judge?!?😜
  15. I certainly have not done it but you can be sure I envy you! Enjoy it all for what great opportunities they are-not a result of getting old.
  16. I don't know much about Indian food but i must say that I have always enjoyed that category on Princess. It might not be authentic to a more informed palate but I really look forward to it!
  17. no indoor swimming pool. In the surcharge area of the spa called the Enclave there is a very large thermo-theraputic pool. It has water jets, some lounger space and jets. I love it but it is not large enough or designed for actual swimming.
  18. The sit down pizza place (included in your fare) is GiGi's. It is essentially the same format as Alfredo's found on other ships. Beyond the pizza items they offer calzones, antipasti, some soups, a few pasta dishes and some sweets. I don't recall an eggplant sandwich but I thought there was an antipasti with grilled eggplant and other vegetables. I really enjoyed it but I REALLY like pizza. 😀
  19. thank you so much for the response. i think Eminonu will be a solid option.
  20. Does anyone know if there is an elevator/lift to reach the restaurants that line the lower level of the bridge? A member of our group is eager to go but has mobility issues. Thanks for any insights
  21. Slightly off topic but I have a question about Armandos. Are their restrooms on the main floor? How is their accessibility? I don't expect them to be anything like ADA compliant but I am worried for a family member with some mobility issues. I reached out directly to the restaurant but got a response that was almost impossible to follow. Thanks!
  22. My thought for you would be to get up early, get into the city and get to The Vatican Museum. Maybe hire a guide that gives you early access-7:30 a.m. maybe but i can't recall. See the Raphael Rooms, the Sistine, and The Basilica itself. The museums of the Vatican are wonderful but take a great deal of time. You might need to skip them this go. Next I would grab some lunch and then head to Pantheon. It is a marvel. You would likely have time to see the Trevi Fountain or the Spanish Steps while in the area. Grab an espresso and pastry. Head to the Colosseum. You can walk back to Piazza Venezia and at least get a partial view of the Roman Forum on your stroll. At the P.V. you can make your transportation connection back to your hotel. Did i suggest a gelato as a reward for all the walking?
  23. I love his videos and found this one really insightful. I have never sailed Celebrity but I would still consider it.
  24. I am very sorry for your loss. I admire you for returning to the things that were of joy to you with your partner-cruising included. I am so glad you found some single supplement free options to ease you back in. Enjoy those cruises and the happiness they will bring. I suspect that is what your partner would want for you. Regards, Chad
