  1. Personally I stay away from items that require pressing. Put them in the bathroom and turn on the shower for 5 minutes. It gets most wrinkles out. Plus I bring Downey Wrinkle Release. Just spray it on and smooth out wrinkles. Also, you can request an iron brought to your cabin by your room steward.
  2. Is bottled water supplied to cabins? Or is tap water the only option for drinking.
  3. Thought about taking a carry bag on board with change of clothes. -What time can I expect our luggage to be delivered to our room? -If I bring a bag onboard, can I drop it off at my cabin's door so I don't have to carry it around until cabins are ready?
  4. If walking off, what is latest time you can leave ship. I have ride pick up time for 10am. Can I walk off at 9:30am?
  5. We book Haven cabins but on the smaller/older ships, book suites which are very nice and come with a nice discount compared to Haven prices. How was dinner? Crowded? Any trouble getting a table/time slot? Nice to see concierge for show reservations and theater seating. Our concierge on the Dawn was in theater assuring seating and drink orders were taken. In restaurant to make sure we got a good table and food satisfactory. Thanks to all the good concierges.

  7. I understand "haven" can be inserted at odd times but I also understand, coming from a 'blue collar" family that acquiring a Haven cabin is a mark of accomplishment for some. So for those who have reached the "Haven" milestone, Congrats!!!

  9. I love my ice cream too and a day doesn't go by with some. Do you need special permission from the Gods at sea to get 4 scoops?
  10. No offense, but 99% of cruisers are not in an OS category so comment was meant for them.
  11. Very well stated. No one, guests or staff, have a problem except if children are rude or disruptive to other guests. If I remember correctly, as a teenager, the last thing I wanted to do was hang out with my parents.
  12. If your children are well behaved and polite, I'm sure your children will be welcomed no matter where you go - hot tub, sundeck, pool. God bless you for being a good parent.
  13. If I order room service in Haven an ask for a pitcher of soda, will I receive an additional charge outside of my Haven drink package? I always thought that only ordering from the Bar is covered on the drink package. Thank goodness that NCL now offers Coke products instead of Pepsi. Nothing against Pepsi, but a "Rum and Pepsi" just doesn't sound right.
  14. Soda in cans is available throughout the ship and are stocked in your room fridge. However, if you open one of the cans in your room fridge, it will cost you $3-$4. per can. Items in your fridge are not covered under the 'drink package'.
  15. I was referring to the Haven restaurant staff - not my room steward, and not my butler. Stop being snarky. A girl from the restaurant staff went down to the main kitchen to fetch my meal but in case you are unaware, the main kitchen is located 12 decks down from Haven and at the opposite end of the ship. How long would it take you to walk that distance down and back?? Plus they have to re-heat it before serving as after traveling 15 minutes its not hot anymore. Just because we are in the Haven, does not give us reason to be inconsiderate of the staff. Order in advance and say thank you.
  16. The Haven staff will do anything and everything they can for you. I do like to be considerate of them so when in the Haven & ordering from another restaurant, I give them advance notice by giving my order to the hostess especially if I'm dining at peak rush hour time. It's a different story when dining in your cabin. Your butler is probably not under the same pressure.
  17. Leaving in 10 days and have not received approval yet. Applied for authorization Aug 1st and still have received an okay. Getting anxious about this process.
  18. There are 3 lines for check-in. Haven - Priority - Everyone else.
  19. Pre-covid, I did order a entree from MDR. Haven staff went from deck 18 forward to kitchen on Deck 6 aft. I would not ask that of them again. If you desired an item from the main menu, have your Butler serve you dinner in your cabin or bring the app to your room before going to Haven restaurant. Since the Haven menu does not change, the MDR menu can be very appealing on a long cruise.
  20. Post-covid NCL was suppose to be steering towards a more upscale atmosphere. (along with higher prices) Part of that plan was to bring in new menus. On my recent last cruise, some choices were good and some were just so-so. They did have to hire a whole bunch of new people since re-starting so we will probably see swings in food quality and taste. I think in a few more months, things will get better. That's why NCL is going to one standard menu in each venue which hopefully will help the staff to perfect a few standard dishes rather than tackling a different dish each night. Also, I like Creme Brulee.
  21. Will be on the Joy in a few weeks but I haven't boarded out of NY since pre-covid so thanks for your boarding update. You arrived at 8:50 - what time did you actually board the ship?
  22. My friend recently sailed on Royal where they chose a fixed meal time. Each night they were told to go to a different restaurant, rotating around and hence a different meal choice each night. If find this strange and she didn't like it either. The Haven has a fixed menu which helps the staff to become proficient in that dish. I opt out of the Haven 2 nights for Cagney's and Bistro. Sommers is trying to bring the NCL line a little more upscale.
  23. Looking at Encore Haven Spa Suite. NCL notation says it sleeps 4 people yet I only saw one bed in NCL diagram. How do they get 2 more beds in that cabin? A sleep sofa nor a pull out appears in any of the pictures I've seen.
