a lot of that is discussed in the thread about moist beer: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2987617-beer-price-increase-to-11-for-moist-so-1-20tip-surcharge-over-the-classic-package-pic/

we did that once, and it was awful. We don't do all inclusive either, that's why we loved Playa Palancar in the past. But now they charge $20 pp in addition to food and drinks, and for 5 people it adds up quickly. Add to that a $40-50 taxi ride each way, and bam - you got yourselves an expensive beach day.

we usually go to the beach in Cozumel. I was unpleasantly surprised at how expensive Playa Palancar (not even all inclusive - we are talking just the entrance fee) and the taxi ride to and from was this time. But we love that beach (their beach is lovely), so my DH and DS want to go back there in June... They also have wi-fi included with the fee. Years ago we were at Money bar and they provided free wifi. That may have changed as well. do they have iced coffee there and is it large and how much is it, if you don't mind? I only get it on cruises, and only if we have a bit of OBC. It's my guilty pleasure, especially since I already get so much sugar during the cruise, gobbling up all the desserts.

OP's question was 2 years ago. I am sure their ship has already sailed. 🙂

X Ascent to MSC Seashore: Semi-Live Comparison

There are plenty of battery operated night lights. Amazon has a bunch, and so does Walmart. We used to bring this battery operated night light: but now we bring a usb one with a plug (it's important to bring a usb plug with two equal size prongs for the bathroom (shaver) outlet): I use a Samsung phone usb plug for this After I took a spill in the middle of the night trying to use a bathroom in complete and utter darkness on one of the ships a couple of years ago (I am night blind), I am not taking any chances. -
you could look into Princess. Regal Princess and newer only. Pre-pandemic their food was simply wonderful, and it was still great on Enchanted in 2022 (with some exceptions - you can see my review when you are back on land and free wifi again). We are going on Enchanted again this June. Yesterday I booked our second X cruise - spring break 2025. 7 nights - $2,925 for the 3 of us in a balcony on Ascent. Not bad, not bad at all, especially considering current prices on all cruise lines. Even Princess wanted way more money for an inside cabin. And I will finally get to cruise on my birthday! So excited! Also looking at X Beyond for fall 2025 and might even bring mom and dad with us.

if they go outside of school breaks (spring and summer break, Christmas, NYE and Thanksgiving breaks), there will be very few kids. And it will be much cheaper. I would 100% go with Enchanted. We enjoyed 10 days on her in 2022 (despite being younger than the regular demographic and having an 11 yo in tow), and we are about to enjoy her again with my parents (70+) and a 13 yo in tow. We found Caribbean Princess old and tired in 2016.

good to know. We bring our own night light anyway, but it would be interesting to know if regular cabins on Ascent also have a built-in night light. -
I didn't care for the old one's size, because it didn't hold much. At the time we traveled with a little kid and needed more bag space for beach toys, a change of clothes, snacks, drinks, snorkeling masks, 3 beach towels, spf lotions/sprays, etc. So, I ended up using and loving large plastic totes (reusable shopping bags) from Marshalls. They are cheap, super cute, wet towel proof, and I can get them on clearance for $0.50-1. We also use one as a laundry hamper on the cruise. I am currently using these two designs: before that we used much larger woven bags from the nearby hospital:

some excursions have a min and max age limit, and may not allow an infant to attend. Then what? If they show up at the pier with the baby and are told the baby can't join them?
