My condolences to you on losing your best friend. Perhaps your deposit was nonrefundable? I would explain the circumstances for cancelling the cruise and maybe Celebrity would have enough heart to return your deposit even if it was nonrefundable.

Unvaccinated people can serve themselves at the buffet?
Passengers will once again be able to use buffets and self-serve stations, regardless of passenger vaccination status.

I see you started another thread on this query. I thought I had not submitted my post, so basically wrote the same one over again!

We stayed in 7002, mirror image after seeing it on a cabin crawl. This is a huge cabin with a lovely seating area. There are 2 windows on adjacent sides of the cabin, one of them with a seat. We absolutely loved it. Go for it, you'll love it too. Happy sailing.

We have stayed in 7002, mirror image of 7003. We saw it on a cabin crawl and decided we would book it for another cruise. We absolutely loved this cabin. It has 2 windows, one with a built in seat, a very large sitting area and lots of room. It is more like a hotel room than a cabin. Go for it, you'll love it.

We are even stressing about an April cruise, as FP approaches.

Since we book Aqua the only aft cabins are the 5 on deck 11. We have been in 1140 (biggest balcony), 1138 and 1130. They are all good.

Have never sailed Carnival and never will. Like someone said, the name says it all. We started out with Princess but then discovered Celebrity and have sailed with them for nearly 30 years. We love their food and the quietness on board. The passengers are usually well travelled.
I think you would enjoy Celebrity especially in suite class but 4 days is not long enough!! I would book a verandah and sail on a longer cruise. We usually book Aqua class as we enjoy the experience in Blu.
I hope you will be happy with whatever you choose.

Thanks Laurie. I should have looked at the email from the TA, as it is on there! Just no mention on the booking confirmation. I'm a little worried about these two cruises as no one seems to be booking. I guess they're a long ways away Dec 9, 2023 to Jan 4, 2024. Come join us!

We have 2 cruises booked which are included in this promotion even thought they are not in Europe. They were booked in Nov and I did not know about this promotion. Is it new? Are we out of luck? We did get $300 OBC for each cruise. They are Singapore to Fremantle B2B with Fremantle to Melbourne.

What great pictures. Is this King SETI's tomb? We usually just use our cell phone, so hopefully we will be allowed when we go.

Thank you so much for all your wonderful pictures and detailed account. ever thought of being a travel agent on the side? You have sold us on this lovely ship. Frankly i think you have done a better job than they did on the webinar! Now for the serious question, how on earth are you going to leave this beautiful ship?

Thank you for this suggestion. We have an overnight, so we should have time to see both these places as well.
I always thought flashes were prohibited because they made the colours less vivid over time.

No bacon or hash browns! When we reached Elite + we stopped going because we prefer a cooked breakfast and the only reason we used to go was for the Cappuccinos. We now get these free in Al Baccio.

What's with the numbering of the posts in this thread?

Please people, we are trying to make Loracpin feel less depressed about missing the cruise. Let's not turn this into another ugly thread.
Loracpin, I totally sympathize with you, but you are safe at home, you will not be missing ports and worrying about the person coughing as they go down the hall. Do you have a future cruise to look forward to?
DH and I got tested the other day and my money was on a positive test. Well we were both negative. DH has all the symptoms and a Dr friend told us there is a 15% false rate in the tests so we stay home now as if we were positive. And yes, it is depressing. We are sitting on the fence with regard to cancelling our April cruise.
And yes, we are tripled vaxxed.
When is this going to be over so we can get back to normal life?
Take care and keep yourself safe.

We bought at $40 years ago and have paid for that with OBC's over the years. However, I wish I had sold it when it was $135 beg of 2020 I think. When RCL announced they were suspending all sailings mid March 2020, I believe it tanked at $19.25. Wish I had bought more then! Isn't hindsight amazing?

There are enough gators in Florida, so stay away from them!
Having never heard of a gaitor, I thought maybe the thought was to bring a comfort gator on board. That way distancing would be no problem at all....😀

You are lucky. We have been told you pay what they are when you booked.

HUGE KUDOS to you OP for being so honest and reporting your symptoms immediately. You could have taken some cough lozenges and continued to enjoy the ship infecting everyone and his dog, since you were not feeling that sick.
What a bummer having booked a suite but at least you can enjoy the food from Luminae in your isolation. i wonder if you could sample Blu as well.
I hope your wife escapes although her enjoyment of the lovely suite will be tempered without her best friend.
I feel so sorry for both of you and I hope that you will have better protection going forward, by having the virus and then when you get the booster.

We would be okay with masks required indoors but we would not book an inside or O/V cabin as we would want a balcony to spend time on.

Well that saves me a phone call. I was going to ask them to make ours 60 days instead of 90 (FP due Jan 23). I guess we'll be cancelling. Too much uncertainty with Omicron.

Isn't it amazing what excites us? Thank you Celebrity. I got mine at 2:33 PM in BC same time as the east coast got theirs.

We haven't sailed RCCL, but we sail Celebrity (same group) and on board currency is USD. I understand your problem. We keep a USD Visa and Amex for travel outside Canada. You could get some US cash before you leave and use that for tips. If you have booked your cruise through a TA and they give you OBC, I believe you can ask for it in cash the last day of the cruise and use that for the gratuities.
Welcome to Cruise Critic....a great site!
Enjoy your cruise.

Exchanging "included" drink package for OBC?

I doubt that they would do this but it would please a lot of us.
