  1. This is inexcusable, dollyd.  Aren't you lucky to have Parkerson on board!  You shouldn't have to rely on another passenger to help you out.  Please get help for your UTI immediately.  In the meantime, drink lots of water.  You probably know this.

I'm not being nosy, but I see Orlando as a residence.  i hope you are able to go there after you disembark instead of all the way to Nove Scotia and having to deal with border people.  All the best to you both.

We went back and forth on whether to sail on the 11 day cruise to the ABC Islands tomorrow. When they canceled Key West I almost canceled but didn't. We originally booked an Aqua cabin which would've been new for us. Then I was able to snag a corner aft which we've never had either so we gave up the Aqua cabin for the bigger room and huge balcony. Then came Omicron and canceled flights everywhere. At the end of the day we decided to risk it all and here we are in Tampa. Flights were not canceled,  covid tests were negative and who knows what the future holds? We are 65 and 70, in good health for our ages, and we don't want to live in fear until we die. I think there will be more variants, likely more serious  than Omicron, so we're cruising now, while we still can. If we sail the Caribbean for 11 days without getting off the ship, it still beats sitting in the house in Missouri in the cold winter. To each their own.

Enjoy your corner balcony which will be beautiful even if you never leave the ship.

  3. I'm sorry also that they don't keep old pictures.   I printed out this picture a long time ago but I don't know if it is what you are looking for and it's only the stern.  I hope you can make out the cabin numbers.  Our printer was not working well at the time!

    Widest balconies  2152, 1674, 1206, 9382  SV 8344, 7364, 6312

    Mid size balconies  2157, 1676, 1670. 1407, 1208, 1202, 9303, 9307, 9378

    Smallest balconies 1672, 1668, 1405, 1409, 1204, 1200, 9301, 9305, 9280, 9376.

    not really 🤫

Maybe you think so, but it was right on.  It really annoys me when people start a thread and ask a question they need help with, then give no info to help out.  We are not mind readers.  In your case, too busy to read the best thread ever where many things have been well explained and questions answered.

I hope the Happy New Year soon emerges for you.

  5. A big thank you to Parkerson for starting this thread.  It's a great help to see things from the inside.  I'm so sorry you got this horrible virus and had to be quarantined.  I wish you a speedy recovery and no lasting symptoms.

Thank you also to Mojo65, dollyd and Barb1403 for your comments.  I hope you all recover quickly too.  I will be especially interested Mojo65 in your trip home and what happens at the Canadian border.

I would also like to know where your headache was dollyd and if you still have it.

  6. Guindalf, thank you for starting this thread.  Great idea.

Date of sailing:  April 23, 2022

Cancel or Cruise:  Undecided as of now.  Waiting to see what happens with Omicron.

Rebooked or not? If we cancel before FP Jan 23, we will not rebook.

Comment on why you made the decision  We may ask Celebrity if they would extend the FP date for another month or so.  In these uncertain times I think asking for FP 90 days before the cruise is asking for cancellations.

Yeah... we are on the Feb 11th sailing... we have moved this cruise twice already. My plan is to wait until early Feb to see if the peak is over and if the disease continues to be as mild as it has been for vaccinated. We are driving so most of the risk is going to be at hotels/restaurant along the way and in the terminal. OPs thread does make me pause however. We were quarantined once with Noro virus..made me really appreciate a balcony cabin...won't sail without one now.  In addition to being more concerned about being locked up because of a positive test.. than I am getting it... I am wondering if they will move us out of our deck 6 cabin... a look at the ship for our sailing...appears to be very full...which I don't believe ..so I suspect they are doing their own capacity control as well as blocking out cabins for quarantine purposes. So we will see what happens. Remember the old days when the biggest concerns were flight delays and just how early you could get on the ship and then off at the end of the cruise... ah good times.

I agree with you totally.  We would never book an inside or O/V because of the possibility of quarantine.  On our last cruise on Eclipse Mar 2020, I was stupid enough to have a slushy drink at McDonalds in Punte del Este and I have never been so sick in my life.  We phoned the medial staff and I was quarantined because they couldn't be sure it wasn't Noro.  A couple of days later someone came with an envelope with 2 $135 FCC's as compensation for the quarantine period.  Lovely surprise.
