  1. How current is this schedule? There was a recent one that listed Joey Boyes on both Horizon and Vista around Christmas time. Someone in the cruise group for our Horizon sailing asked John Heald about it and he said it was an error and Joey would be on Vista at that time. Looking at this air table, it only shows him on Horizon from November-January. I would love for this to be correct and Joey be on our sailing.
  2. Hi all, I booked flights through Carnival fly2fun for our upcoming cruise but it didn't allow me to select seats. There wasn't a way to select them on the American Airlines website either. I called Carnival and the rep said she could let me select them but the only seats that showed for her were near the back of the plane and when looking on AA website, there were seats much closer to the front available so I decided to cancel and book them directly with AA. The flights aren't showing on Carnival's website now but they still show on the AA website and it won't allow me to cancel them on the AA site. It says I have to contact the vendor I booked through. They have been canceled on Carnival's end. Will they eventually fall off of the AA site? I'm not sure contacting AA will help since they are showing the tickets booked through a third party.
  3. I'm looking at Horizon for December, also going to Aruba. What will the weather be like on this cruise in December? Will the sky ride be closed most of the time?
  4. Do they still have a breakfast or lunch buffet in the Ocean Plaza on Vista class ships? I haven't sailed on one since 2019 and really liked that option back then.
  5. The fried shrimp appetizer wasn't that great as I recall. The sweet and sour shrimp is the one that will be missed 😞
  6. That was one of the things I was looking forward to on our next cruise. It was so good. It looks like the shrimp and fried rice has been replaced by a shrimp and noodle dish. It definitely doesn't sound as good.
  7. If there are 8 menus then hopefully one of the regular nightly menus will be replaced with the formal night menu (lobster night).
  8. That's disappointing. I'm going on Carnival next year and was looking forward to this as the pictures I've seen online show it with alfredo sauce.
  9. Is Chibang free for lunch as many times as you go and only an upcharge for dinner after first visit or does the $8 charge apply to a second lunch as well? I will be on Jubilee next year, so I am assuming the included food will be the same as Mardi Gras and Celebration.
  10. Thank you everyone for your answers. I'm going to wait until later in the week to cash out after I'm done with any spending but I'm glad to hear it will work.
  11. It was around a thousand dollars more to choose a balcony cabin for my cruise. I didn't know at the time about the interior balconies on Oasis class ships. I'm currently sitting on my central park balcony watching a gardener move plants to their new location to be planted and listening to the birds chirping soundtrack but I can feel a breeze and it's fine. Next time I want an ocean view balcony for sure.
  12. On Allure now. We asked for a mattress topper for the sofa bed and got it. I told him he could just leave the sofa made into a bed. We usually come back to the room and lounge around for a little while during the afternoon heat so it's fine leaving it out. We were given a choice of morning or evening and chose 5:00 to 8:00 when we knew we'd be at dinner or out and about.
  13. Hello, Currently on Allure and app says my on board credit is nonrefundable. I got part of it from being a shareholder and part of it from Royal for purchasing the premier package that ended up being a computer glitch on their end. Can I still cash it out in the casino or do I need to start spending it so I don't lose it at the end of the cruise?
  14. I hope it's okay to post this here. I posted it on the Roatan board but haven't gotten any response. I have some questions about the Semi Sub glass bottom boat and monkey sloth tour. It's listed as "strenuous" Does anyone know why? Also, what monkey/sloth sanctuary does it go to?
  15. Still, I'd log in to the app or website just to see if it's listed under upcoming cruises 🙂
  16. I'm trying to find out more info on this excursion. It's listed as "strenuous" Does anyone know why? Also, what monkey/sloth sanctuary does it go to?
  17. I did our check-in the first week of April and did the barcode scan to learn our room number. Yesterday, our cruise was exactly 30 days out and when I checked yesterday morning it said gty. I checked again in the afternoon and the room number was assigned. It was the same number I learned from the barcode trick.
  18. I'm afraid I'm not much help. My cruise has shown sold out for a while so I'm not expecting to hear anything at least until the last minute if there are cancelations. Also, even the minimum bids were quite high according to what I've read so I didn't quite get into the adequate range even though my bids were pretty high.
  19. Thanks for all the replies. Of course, I'm checking the Royal up bid page often anyway but I didn't want it to suddenly get canceled and I not realize it until too late. It sounds like it doesn't always get canceled once rooms are assigned.
  20. I've read that Royal up bids get canceled and you have to place bids again once cabin is assigned but mine was assigned today (30 days out) and my bids still show submitted. Will they get canceled in the next few days?
  21. Thanks for all the answers. I could live with $50 pp cancellation fee if worse came to worse. If I purchase the insurance through carnival, would they refund my deposit or let me move the cruise to another date?
  22. Hi all! I couldn't find any answers to this in the search engine, even though I tried. In the past I've booked "fun saver" or whatever is the lowest price cruise fair listed but I'm looking at a cruise that is over a year away and would like to book a refundable deposit in case something comes up before then. I looked through the list on the booking engine and one called a "March sale" or something close to that says that it is refundable except there may be cancellation penalties. Could someone tell me how much the cancellation penalty might be, for example would it be a percentage of my deposit or all of it or a flat rate? I'm looking at a newer ship so no $50 deposits. It will be about $400 total for 4 people.
  23. I just booked this also. It said "All eligible guests in the stateroom will be charged for individual packages" so I booked it for myself, my husband and 21 year old son. It says all guest must be 21 years old to book it. I also have a 16 year old who is not eligible. I wonder if I need to go ahead and book a separate internet package and VIP tour for him to he can do the tour with us??? I'm also wondering if he will be allowed to do the captain's dinner? Do you have to be 21 to book the chef's table where wine is included? If so, then he probably wouldn't be allowed to attend the captain's meal either.
  24. I have the same situation for my Allure cruise in May. I booked it last September and there were plenty of central park, boardwalk and ocean view cabins available but to pick a cabin would have been several hundred dollars more than the balcony guarantee so that's what I went with. There wasn't a choice of an inside balcony or ocean view balcony guarantee. My invoice also just says GTY. Now I'm playing the waiting game to see what I will be assigned.
  25. Oh, what a wonderful idea! I hope lots of pictures are shared here 🙂
