  1. Thanks for your well-balanced review. We, too, will be cruising on Vista for our first time on Oceania next January through the Panama Canel after sailing for some years on Celebrity and Royal so it's good to hear from first timers moving over from Celebrity. We trust our experience will mirror yours!
  2. IMHO, might keep a lower expectation of Bimini unless one snorkels or other watersports as there is not much there (at least when we were there last year) other than a Marriott (I think) resort, so we rented a golf cart and did a little self-tour hitting up the ramshackle conch shacks which we did enjoy as we like conch and cold beverages (we typically always find things to enjoy no matter where we are). There is a public beach, but we didn't stop there. Again, just IMHO!
  3. Looking forward to another one of your review and pics. Safe travels!
  4. Have sailed on Edge, Apex and Beyond but was the first time on Beyond that we attended the Eden production cast shows and they were both outstanding. We will not miss then again when we sail Apex next spring. As others have pointed out, get there early if you want a good seat (the seating arrangement is not ideal in Eden while the Club is good though early birds get the best seats.
  5. Ok, many thanks. From what I have read about John, hope he is still on when we are. Though, have always had great Concierges on X.
  6. Look forward to your review and thanks.
  7. Following along a well as we are on Apex out of Southampton next May/June for Scandinavia/Norway Fjords, so thanks for the info and pics!
  8. Thought they might have two, but sounds like just the one?
  9. Have you met the other Concierge, yet? If so, what is their name, and do you know by chance where they might be on their contracts (curious if they may be on end of Aug/first of Sept)? Thanks!
  10. Looking forward to your thoughts, as well, as we are on Eclipse Aug/Sept for NE/Canada out of Boston for the first time so will be following along.
  11. Thanks, again, for all the feedback. We are booked on Vista next Jan for LA to Miami Panama Canel and looking forward to experiencing Oceania for the first time!
  12. Yes, very similar positions and we were leaning strongly towards SS but the price jump you've noted has us looking elsewhere (such as O).
  13. Again, many thanks to all for your helpful feedback! It's much appreciated and we're going to give Oceania a try (most likely Vista depending on the itinerary).
  14. Thank you, this is very helpful to know.
  15. Having enjoyed your pics and review of your cruise to-date. Has us reliving our Beyond ABC cruise from a few weeks ago! Will continue to follow along.
  16. Thanks. We're Elite+ Retreat cruisers and the itineraries are appealing to us on O, as well as the overnight ports (Bordeaux for instance). I can't see to find where you can upgrade the beverage package online, either. Look forward to hearing about your first O experience should you find time to share on CC. We're looking at late Aug/early Sept 2025 on Vista PH2 (PH3 is on a Guarantee now) for a London to London/London to Barcelona B2B.
  17. Thank you. That is certainly a better offer than Celebrity.
  18. Can speak for Apex last spring for 24 days and, yes, they had no sugar tonic at that time (in the Retreat anyway but not positive about the other venues).
  19. I truly appreciate all of the feedback! While we do not focus on the negative posts (have had plenty of those over at Celebrity, too, but our experiences have been overwhelmingly positive.) but seems to be a number of them on CC for Oceania so all of your positive comments are helpful. We're thinking to begin on one the larger ships (Vista) in order to test the water to see if we enjoy the experience. Does Oceania offer beverage packages (alcohol) in addition to simply MORE, I can't see to find that on their website?
  20. Recently on Beyond for this itinerary and enjoyed the music at Sunset and Eden Bar. Also, particularly enjoyed the productions in Eden Bar as you are up close and personal but get there early has seats go quick.
  21. We are considering Oceania for the first time (Vista for ~3 or 4 weeks) but from reading many of these posts it seems like those have cruised her repeatedly are disappointed on the current product and direction it seems to be headed in. We would be coming from Celebrity (Retreat suites) and looking for a less hectic experience (meaning less people) and a higher crew to passenger ratio for the service and amenities but maybe that is not necessarily the case on Oceania anymore? We are early and late 60's, would we be considered part of the "younger crowd" with limited choices on getting a cocktail or listening to some music later into the evening? So, am interested in thoughts on the recent/current overall experience those have been having and what we should likely expect. Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
  22. No, meant we are on in a couple of months.
  23. I'm curious about this, too, as we are on and didn't think that there were any daybeds, lounge beds, or Retreat Bar on the Retreat Deck?
  24. Thanks. Very likely a stand-up bar, but does it have seats? Reason I ask is that we received a Retreat welcome email for Eclipse that contained this picture. I'm thinking this is from a refurbed M or S class, or Ascent (we've been on Edge, Apex and Beyond so know it's not that from those)?
