  1. Look forward to following along if you decide to update us on your experience. Will be interested if restoring reductions does indeed happen and what they end up being.
  2. Cruise Celebrity and Royal, mostly Celebrity the last few years, but looking into Silversea as a small inclusive luxury cruise option so interested in any overall recent feedback and specifically how formal is evening wear in the restaurants and lounges? Also, service in staterooms and around the ship? Look forward to any thoughts on recent experiences. Thanks in advance.
  3. Not new to Royal but will be to the Jewel so interested in others recent experiences. Will be in a suite so thoughts on the Suite Lounge, concierges, room conditions, specialty food and service, and thoughts on the crew. Oh, have there been many kids, particularly smaller kids, on your cruise. Appreciate any feedback.
  4. We have RCL shares, got it at almost its lowest COVID price and it has performed very well (up ~500%). Of course, hindsight as we should have bought more but available funds to do so along with the 401k taking a big hit then! We have friends that have Carnival stock during COVID downside and out about to cut their losses/break even on that one. S
  5. Yes, was available and we were having on our cruise last month. No problem, but depending on where you were and if the bartender knew you, they would go for the Duc (not so good) so I would ask for Haslinger specifically and f they didn't have it, say Solarium bar, I would get Chandon.
  6. We have not experience that on Celebrity (Royal has been a different experience at times in the past and one reason we moved on to Celebrity). But, we did have a person on Constellation who was very loud talking on their cell speaker in Laminae and the Maitre' D told her very politely to not do so in the restaurant and to go outside if she wished to continue. This happened on two occasions. My wife said she saw her do this in other areas of the ship. Can only draw the conclusion that she is just self-centered and oblivious to her surroundings and those around her. Thank goodness for the crew who handled it very well.
  7. Yes, odd. Go figure, ship by ship I guess. We'll see on Beyond in April.
  8. Just our experience, room attendants/Retreat Host will unpack (ours did last month on Constellation). Previously, the dedicated butler would oversee the unpacking but did not do it themselves.
  9. Wonder if you ask if they will have it, as wasn't it a kids menu option?
  10. Have been on Apex twice and no noise issues for us or for anyone that we met onboard.
  11. The maître de should be Arif and the bartender in Michaels is Preshant, he made my wife's Sangria when we were on in Dec. Wow on the SS, ours was nowhere near that and frankly our worse SS we've had on X. Enjoy!!
  12. Was $17 on Constellation last month, part of Premium package and we found it readily available when we wanted it.
  13. We disembarked 12/22 and while there were some folks coughing but didn't hear of folks having any issues. Saw many of the same folks in Michaels Club most days.
  14. One of the reasons we try to meet the senior officers if we have an opportunity, just in case and to let them know how the service is/has been very much including if all is going well or if there have been any major hiccups.
  15. That's what we were thinking but my wife still wants the control. Still, might have to try one of these days.
  16. Sorry to hear for folks that are affected. Hoping we are not when we're on her in a couple of month.
  17. Ah ha, usually with too much alcohol unusual things can happen...good and bad! I'm sure housekeeping were not happy campers but it's their job and, for most, gotta feed the family back home.
  18. Was on Constellation last month and the bathroom was very worn and past the need for refurb, but our attendant/Retreat Host kept if very clean. Was just some things she couldn't do as need to be replaced.
  19. Interesting, we have not seen that before. One way to do it if you are getting the attention you deserve and mgmt is not doing anything about it.
  20. We enjoyed Apex for two different cruises, along with Edge, and have truly enjoyed them. Just us, but we recommend trying them.
  21. We happened to go to World Class bar when they were doing the wine tasting event and thought the wines we saw coming from the different tasting tables we're labels that we didn't notice from the premium package. Now, didn't have a chance to examine any up close but we were tempted to join in but it was nearer the end of the event so didn't. But,our bartender said to help yourselves to some Charcutie to go with the wines we were drinking!
  22. LOL,I know as you wouldn't think it, but the Hill Country wines have really improved over the years. 5-10 years ago, I wouldn't touch them after having had some bad ones. But the winemakers have obviously learned a lot about the land, weather, vines, etc. Give Grape Creek and Heath sparkling (part of Grape Creek) a try if you have an opportunity. I've had Gruet sparkling and have no issues with it. Haven't tried in any others, yet. Any recommendations?
  23. Agree and if they have a chance to meet the Hotel Director, I would not hesitate to make them aware of your situation. I'm not sure but they should be able to have housekeeping gratuities removed by Guest Services.
