  1. I honestly didn’t ask but I know if I had they’d have gotten it for me. Our butler was extremely attentive.
  2. All I can say is that I had the name of a specific butler to call, she was definitely NOT a stateroom attendant, made herself extremely visible (I saw her almost every time I left my stateroom) and was willing to help with anything I asked for. 3 people were retreat concierges for my sailing.
  3. I believe we have a butler back in Sky Suite on Apex. We of course have a dedicated stateroom attendant who we haven’t formally met yet. We have met our butler, I asked her “are you our butler?” And she said “yes ma’am!” And then we received a card with a “Retreat Concierge” team of 3 people that appears to be all concierge for all suites. We met one of them in the embarkation lounge before boarding. So right now it appears Apex has butlers back in Sky Suites.
  4. The word is the decision and change is very recent as of a few weeks ago, so the butlers were still absent in January.
  5. Since Ascent is the newest ship I believe it was first. Followed by Beyond, and then Apex, etc...so wondering where in the process they are...
  6. They won’t be able to change their website until butlers are reinstated across the entire fleet, and it’s certainly not possible to reinstate all butlers at the same time. They’re filtering them back and some ships have them back already, some don’t. Many people sailing in the next couple weeks are looking for a status on their ship. I’m sure those sailing a few months from now won’t have any question anymore but at the moment we’re still looking for people to report back for the close sailings.
  7. To me using potato chips is just another way of adding crunch, similar to breadcrumbs. I know Capital Grille uses potato chips on their au gratin potato side dish and I’ve always enjoyed it 🤷🏼‍♀️
  8. I have worn a sparkly one on a cruise with heels before and it was fine. Also curious about the butlers. We board Saturday.
  9. Too many people involved and too many fingers can be pointed. I just book straight with the source and then I know my beef is with them and they can't blame it on anyone else. Based on experiences this just makes my life easier.
  10. Any noise is not good but I’m especially sensitive to this type of noise. I’ll never sail any ship that has reports of hearing conversations of neighbors or TVs. Yikes.
  11. I dress up every night and love glitter. I live in a pretty casual town so really don't get the opportunity to dress up like I did when I lived on the east coast. Husband doesn't wear a tux but he does wear a vest and tie.
  12. More of a reason why I wouldn't book the air this way. Celebrity isn't actually handling it, so their hands are tied and all they can really say is "sorry." My original statement still stands...the more work is contracted out, the less likely it is that the final product will be up to standard. The argument is really then with the contractor, and you may not even know who that is.
  13. Reasons I always book my flights directly with the airline. I think of it like contractor services for my home. I will shy away from any "home service" that will come to my house and service my appliances, but yet they will do landscaping and pool work too. Red flags all over that something won't be done right. Celebrity is a cruise line and that is their focus. I can't rely on them to get a flight arrangement right, it's just not their specialty.
  14. We love walking around San Juan. A few gems hidden in town so we make a few stops and head back to the ship! I like hearing that it was quiet, I believe we are the only ones in port when I sail.
  15. Some people use tubs. I’m one of them, I enjoy baths and have long hair and appreciate not having to always try not to get it wet on a non-wash night. So I for one appreciate the tub and am glad they’re there.
  16. I would inform guest services of your experience thus far. Not acceptable when you’ve paid for it. Hopefully other services will be available but regardless I’d still let them know and see if they’ll make it right.
  17. I read no positive comments regarding Celebrity in your initial post in which you proclaimed HAL had better cabins in every way than Celebrity. Sounds like you’re in for disappointment all around unless you go with more of an open mind? 🤷🏼‍♀️
  18. She mentioned in her original post he’s been to a pulmonologist and has had tests done.
  19. No fun. I came home with the flu after disembarking Edge back in 2019. I was very sick, but caught it with tamiflu just in time. Missed an extra week of work. A week or so later, horror started. Essentially what happened is the flu caused my immune system to go into overdrive, and my digestive tract attacked itself. I went through 2 months of pain and exhibiting scary symptoms waiting for a doctor appointment in which they told me I’d developed a type of proctitis due to the flu and my body’s reaction to the infection. I was losing weight, I couldn’t eat anything without having a terrible flare. I managed to make it go away over time with natural remedies but it was so scary; I’ve never been so sick and I was only 34. Not the first time I came home sick from a cruise, but it was the worst. I hope your husband feels better soon.
  20. Wow, that is good to know. We don't usually get the travel insurance but this time we did, through the company you mentioned. If anything happens I will definitely look into that.
  21. I have some that are dark blue. Probably pre-2016.
