  1. She mentioned in her original post he’s been to a pulmonologist and has had tests done.
  2. No fun. I came home with the flu after disembarking Edge back in 2019. I was very sick, but caught it with tamiflu just in time. Missed an extra week of work. A week or so later, horror started. Essentially what happened is the flu caused my immune system to go into overdrive, and my digestive tract attacked itself. I went through 2 months of pain and exhibiting scary symptoms waiting for a doctor appointment in which they told me I’d developed a type of proctitis due to the flu and my body’s reaction to the infection. I was losing weight, I couldn’t eat anything without having a terrible flare. I managed to make it go away over time with natural remedies but it was so scary; I’ve never been so sick and I was only 34. Not the first time I came home sick from a cruise, but it was the worst. I hope your husband feels better soon.
  3. Wow, that is good to know. We don't usually get the travel insurance but this time we did, through the company you mentioned. If anything happens I will definitely look into that.
  4. I have some that are dark blue. Probably pre-2016.
  5. Heading out in a couple weeks on Apex. I have been clicking all the threads I can to try and find some recent photos of the menus in Luminae (I have looked on the App but from what I hear they're not always 100% accurate) and photos of the food and haven't seen a whole lot. Sometimes it helps to have a visual to decide what to order! Plus it will get me more excited Recent Luminae food photos, speciality restaurants (Fine Cut, Rooftop, Eden, Raw on 5), and Oceanview too cuz I may just decide to pop in there from time to time. Spam me!
  6. Thanks for the reminder for me to bring one of my sea pass card holders from a previous sailing. We're in a suite so not sure if they'll give them out but regardless it was something I always used every sailing.
  7. I absolutely loved this about Olympic restaurant. I felt special dining there. Of course I was only like 16 but I thought it was such a special thing on the ship.
  8. No, I meant their shared charter. If I can't find one with less people on it that I think makes sense then I'll have to pay the big bucks to go private.
  9. I have had them in Concierge cabins as well, and they were the canapes. We aren't fans of what they typically bring so after that first cruise many years ago we ask for different items like a fruit and cheese plate and even shrimp cocktail and have gotten it. I am not sure if what CC get is supposed to be the same as suites but I found if I asked for something specific I received it.
  10. Do you know how many people they allow on their boat for the half day sail @ $145pp? I like smaller groups, and thinking about just booking a private one for just my husband and I. I am fine with it if it is a smaller group but when it gets to be 10+ people I prefer to book private.
  11. The other review I found they were not in a suite, they were in an IV room so they did not have suite perks. Not sure if there's another review posted from someone in a suite, if there is I haven't found it. I can say that one of the things my husband and I have always liked about cruising was getting to know some of the crew. We have become Facebook friends with several. COVID changed so much of that, and I am not sure any of the crew we once knew are sailing anymore, but our last sailing on Edge pre COVID our waiter in Luminae was the same waiter we had 6 years before on Reflection when we were sailing with friends. He expected us on board and went out of his way to make sure he was taking care of us. It was really great to see him again. There was another bartender we know in Eden and he sent another crew member to search for us on board because he knew we were on that sailing. When you get to know crew, it can sometimes be beneficial for future sailings. We also enjoy talking to them because their backgrounds and culture can be so different from ours, it can help make the trip more interesting and enjoyable. I definitely care if I am enjoying the dish in front of me too, but if we have a good relationship with those serving us, I find they will take care of any issues in the blink of an eye and do it with a smile. I know they should anyway, but it does help if you are personable and kind with those serving.
  12. It doesn't include gratuities for the future but I booked this cruise back in March of last year so at least for this sailing those changes don't affect us. Going forward, it unfortunately will. I understand the uproar, it's not worth $85pp plus gratuities.
  13. Yep, this is why I got angry when I went to book my reservation for Eden a few weeks back. App SAID $65pp, website SAID $65 pp, try to book it on the app and suddenly now it’s $85 pp but verbiage on the previous screen says $65? No. Fix it. If they’re going to advertise it as one price then they need to honor it. I called and got “sorry, that’s the price.”
  14. The Oceanview Cafes all have Il Secondo Bacio which is, I believe, a full bar. Can't answer on the products available in the stateroom.
  15. Yes, when there is availability. On my Edge cruise (albeit 5 years ago, but don't believe this has changed) we approached the Maitre d at Blu and asked to make a reservation for a particular night. It was not a problem.
  16. I think it will be this for us: - Request ice water be brought in a pitcher each night - Request the afternoon savories (we're in SS so hopefully we can get this) - We used to ask the room steward to remove all of the drinks from the fridge, I think we will still do this because we do use it for things sometimes - Bar soap - I don't remember on our last trip if we had toiletries in bottles but that is obviously a thing of the past Not sure there's really much more we normally ask for? 🤔
  17. Hahah unfortunately I do remember many things. SO much has changed since I first started cruising when I was 16, but Edge didn't leave me disappointed on our last trip. Given that I haven't been on a vacation like this in so long though I am just glad to be going!
  18. I have an old list but it needs to be updated. And I am not sure what is included anymore and what isn't, but I knew the water stopped a while back. Haven't cruised in 5 years and leave next month. It's hard finding all the info of what's available anymore and what's not.
  19. Not sure what you're curious about - the OP asked specifically about getting water to bring back to their cabin. My comment was about when they used to bring water in the cabin and you didn't have to worry about it because it was already there. It was relevant to the question.
  20. Will ask to see if we can get it this time. I loved the pitcher because it didn't require me to remember to get water from one of the bars or the Retreat Lounge before heading for bed.
  21. Thank you! I was looking all over for these answers. Less than 5 minutes to know if I’d just asked 😊
  22. I’m having a hard time finding answers via the search function on the forum since it was updated (it’s been a while since I’ve cruised lol), so I apologize in advance for these questions as I’ve tried hard to find answers without starting a new topic. 1. We are grouped in with “excluded bookings” regarding the “all included” gratuities, WIFI, Premium Beverage package on our cruise next month because we booked our Sky Suite back in March of last year, so we have gratuities included with our fare and we also have Premium Beverage included. Is the 20% gratuity for each drink order added to our shipboard account, or is that included with the “all included” gratuities? I wasn’t sure if “all included” ONLY covered our daily per person gratuities or if it covered the 20% drink charges too. 2. Does premium beverage package also include the smoothie drinks and fresh pressed juice from Aqua Spa Cafe? Can’t remember, or didn’t know if it changed. TIA 😊
  23. I’ve seen my fair share of people that are obviously entitled and need to be put in their place, but l’ve also witnessed airline gate agents act completely out of line and humiliate people; I was one of them. A lot of airport employees, including TSA agents, are on a power trip.
  24. I loved when they did the pitcher of ice water in your stateroom each night. I always found myself thirsty during the night so that was something I utilized. Not sure how long it’s been since they stopped doing that.
