  1. Hi All - It's been awhile since I've cruised so I'm looking for a little advice please.

I'm D+ sailing solo on Harmony soon. I'd like to use my BOGO dining benefit, and then separately buy a 3 night package.

    With the BOGO benefit...

    > Is it correct that I can't reserve in advance and have to wait until I'm onboard?

    > Do I have to use the the second free cover charge on the second night, or can I use it anytime?

    > How does the benefit work if I eat at an a la carte restaurant?

    With the 3 Night Package...

    > Is it correct that I don't reserve in advance - RCCL picks and then I can change onboard?

    Thanks.

3 night package you can select or change. One is supposed to be used on one of the first two nights though.

  2. So you will know for the future, most ships have an interactive feature on the tv where you can look at your charges anytime you want. We check ours daily so there will be no surprises at the end of the cruise.:)

We did and that is how we caught it. We ended up having to deal w GS 3 times at different days as we kept seeing charges pop up each day :(

  3. We just got off Oasis and was a bit disappointed to have to go to GS to get charges reversed for included non alcoholic beverages that got charged erroneously. It was over $100 and was mostly the OJ and frozen non alcoholic drinks on the Royal Refreshment package. Never did I get a receipt for these drinks and would never have known I was charged until I saw it on the bill. It was at least 10 charges from several different restaurants/bars.

  4. If we've already paid for the package before boarding (was supposed to include gratuities). Will we be charged for gratuities again, once we dine in the restaurant? Sorry, I'm confused about this as I thought the dining packages already included gratuities?

Packages include gratuity for both on board or online purchases. The added gratuity only applies to those eating at speciality w.o a package and paying either a la carte or cover charge.

  5. We’ve sailed on Oasis twice and love that ship. If you can, I’d suggest a cabin on deck 8. Central Park is in the middle of deck 8. It’s a lovely, calm area with several restaurants.]

Totally agree! We love deck 8. We were on 7 this time and we liked being closer to decks 4-6 but missed Central Park!

    :)

  6. Almost identical with Oasis being cheaper due to lesser port fees. Found Canaveral to be much more organized and faster on and off. Biggest difference other than shows is Samba the Argentinan Chirasco restaurant is only on Allure and on Oasis the Solarium serves dinner. Otherwise it is identical.

  7. Correct, none of the drink packages or coupons work at Starbucks. You can use a Starbucks Gift Card though.

In my experience, it worked for Lattes, Cappuccino drinks, iced coffee and Espresso drinks. Small size is one punch, larger size or extra shot is 2.

  8. Had it in mdr and specialty restaurants. Today's lunch on oasis was in giovannis for b2b cruisers. If there is a large contingent of b2b then it is held in mdr.

What was the menu, Frank? Living vicariously through you as we wait for our flight. Was really great meeting you and wish you an excellent vacation part 2. :D

  9. We originally booked FNDR on Oasis for our sailing on Oct 22nd. We arrived and found our reservation was at Sabor. We ended up cancelling since a $4 savings wasn't worth it for us. We ended up doing the Unlimited Dining and asking if we could do Izumi Hibachi which was permitted for the first night only. We fared well eating at 150, Izumi Hibachi, Giovanni's x2, Chops for dinner and doing Chops, Izumi sushi, Giovanni's and Sabor for lunch.

  10. Do any of these shops sell REAL espresso in the tiny little cups? I'm not a coffee drinker but drank espresso this spring in Italy. The little cup is about the equivalent of 1 oz. The Italians drink one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one after dinner for "energy". And, man, does it do the job!!

I've been trying to find similar here in NC, but no luck. I'm hoping the Oasis may have this. Anyone with info??

Both Park Cafe and Cafe Promenade will make an Espresso. Starbucks does too but they are not included in packages. Starbucks does accept their App and Gift Cards though!
