Two for 1 week and 4 for two weeks

Last full day today in lanzarote. Went on oyo tour to playa blanca. Weather fabulous 26c not a cloud in the sky. Sank a couple of beers and lunch in resort. Just setting off to tenerife now for departure tomorrow. Panto later, just like being on this forum lol.

Just arrived in gran canaria after day at sea. Saw jay mcgee comedian last night part of 60s rockin berries he was ok and better than some we have seen. Here is a sample of dinner starters breaded mushroom and calamari fritte. The steak pie with suet was not as good as a hollands pudding and it was chef recommended. With these starters i now order a salad as well.

The situation with the beer supply improved when we were in tenerife. Now the shortage is Red Wine. In the main dining room you used to have a choice of around 12 red wines to choose from 175ml to 250 ml glasses. Currently the choice is one!!! For 175ml which is Merlot. On the back of the Horizon leaflet it states a global shortage. Please work with us. Well how about if we buy it off the ship and bring on board and they wont charge corkage would that help? Blimey im beginning to think ive become a real moaner lol.

At sea yesterday back upto madeira weather was fabulous 24c cruising at 11 knots. Had to get my wife to see doctor as chest worsened. They were amazing. Came upto room as a matter of course to do covid test before they would let her go to surgery on deck 4. Prescribed and supplied medication. Whole process took 2 hours but felt service was good. Price list attached. Our on board account charged £68. Just not onboard credit cannot be used.

In tenerife today, we did northern panoramic tour. 4.5 hours. It was ok but the route is not pleasant on a mini coach and stop for wine and cheese was dire. Cheap red plonk and one small piece of cheese on a slice of baguette. Guide was good and so was driver. Should have allowed more beach time at last stop.

Yep i saw those kegs as a i walked into the centre this morning. Hope they are not the empty ones. In fuertventura yesterday went for a walk to the shops. With hindsight dont take the uphill road or path next to large souvenir shop walk another 400yds along coast path to the beach then either go on beach or cross the road as you approach the beach and head back to the shops till you get to the church then next road back down hill towards the ship. Less steep route for elderly or wheelchairs or buggies.

In that case you can let me know what Arvia is like as we are on her 30th april i think around med. The mrs has developed flu like symptoms so bought covid test kit in fueurtventura just in case cost 3 euro. Tested negative.

I think grapau 27 pics and general comments sum things up. The condition of ship is good and clean. The selection of food in main restaurants and buffet are good. We were also on the ship in august around croatia which was also fine. They have had some supply problems and run out of Peroni. Speckled hen, guinness but hope to get this sorted when in tenerife on friday.

La palma is ok for a biet of shopping on the street behind seafront. Free courtesy bus from ship to port gate or 10 min walk look for mc donalds sign. Actually got to 28c and clear blue sky from 11am toasty.

Yes it was another sea day yesterday back fom madeira to la palma this morning. It was a bumpy ride overnight with 50 knot winds but not too bad. Promenade deck 7 was closed for half of the day and deck 16 and 17 at the very back of the ship also closed. Watched a good Ed Sheeran tribute night before last. Mixed weather not spoiling holiday so far. 24c forecast today. You still need masks here for buses and taxis.

So £18 a day for standard wifi or £12 a day with cruise plan for whole cruise. Or £24 a day for ultimate wifi or £18a day with cruise plan. In madeira town set up with Christmas markets. £4each way shuttle bus. Open top bus tour 20 euro or on day local bus pass is 5euro

Bit of a rick and roll trip to madeira yesterday. Sunny here but a lot of cloud around 22c. Ran out of draught peroni last night only fosters or bottles. Not impressed.

The shipis 9 hours late getting away from tenerife due to waitung for flights delayed from manchestet because of snow. Great atmosphere in the bar last night until england lost. Weather a bit mixed. Food and service has been nice. Its 8am and im on a sunbed in 18c of cloudy sky. Still pleasant.

Good to know its not just me that feels let down by these so called leading insurers.

I have a real issue with Staysure at the moment and their stance on ALL IN or ALL Out if you are waiting for tests to be done on some inocuous issue they will NOT cover any existing medical conditions. You cannot even agree to opt out of cover for your awaited tests its all in or all out if you are awaiting tests. The current insurance underwriting system stinks and smacks of we will find a way to trip you up and not pay out on a claim. Totally ridiculous, they just want to take your money and not accept any risk.
