So we are in la spezia today doing our own thing. Visited a couple of villages. Bought a one day train ticket for 5 villages return for 18.20 euro each. These places and stations are rammed busy but the scenery at Monterosso al mare alone was worth it. Its about a 25 min walk from drop off point to station in la spezia or 20 euro by taxi. You really do need your mobility to visit these places.

Had a stunning sea day yesterday. Cloudless sky, flat sea. They really made an effort with bunting and a special royal quiz in brodies last night, a great party atmosphere. The menu was nice, i had the roasted garlic beef. A bit like beef wellington without pastry.

Forgot to mention going through Gibraltar straits at 1pm yesterday saw pods of porpoises or dolphins must have been more than 50. Most were baby ones.

We have been at sea for last 2 days. First day off portugal rain most of the day so watched elvis movie. Very good. Only 50 seats in cinema so count how many in queue if going to watch about 30 people queued but didnt get in. We have eaten the last 2 nights in Olive Grove. First night was Celebtstion night i had the yellow fin tuna with caviar as a starter and fillet steak for main course. Very nice. Last night it was the greek mezze starter, then tuna steak for main. Both nights took over 2hrs to get finished. In at 6pm out at aroynd 8.10. Saw ODY. C show 2 last night which was good and josh Adams comedian, same jokes but still made us laugh. Dont mention manu game. The queue for the meridien at 5.45 last night was 20yds past olive grove and we thought it was for our restaurant. It was moving ok though. Just been around la coruna. Turned right off ship that a nice walk to small castle. If you go left off ship then nice pavement cafes and a 20 min walk to beach. Go straight off ship and across road and parallel streets for shopping. Time to sunbathe. Plenty of sunbeds at 1pm

Well done forward booking mb. We have one booking for zenith. Apparently they have tablecloths. Just queued 10 mins for shared table in meridian for breakfast. Good food and service at 9am.

We got to the port at 2.30 and managed to get checked in ans on board in 20 mins. People who were early were being held in a seperate queue and fed in when gaps available. Ship is very busy we booked meridien and olive grove 14 days before departure but could only get times between 5.30 and 6pm. Food on 2 nights in meridien has been nice better than on azura better quality imo. Didnt get tickets for Gary Barlow but people who did enjoyed show. Room on deck 15 seems a bit cramped inside cabin, bathroom tiny, but shower ok. Saw comedy juggler in theatre 2 nights ago he was good and a light and sound display in dome last night which was good but we could here the last show in our room which is below dome. If you are in these rooms then probably dont go to bed before 11pm. In la coruna today and forecast 27c lovely. First impression is ship overcrowded but will probably get used to it. Off for breakfast shortly. The horizon buffet at 10am yesterday was truly awful, to busy abd limited choice. Queue for meridien at 5.45 but only took 10 mins to get seated

You should find it very enjoyable with so many didning options to choose from. If you find the comedians tedious then dont stick around find another bar or maybe a live music event in the dome. The Lazer show in the dome was fantastic not to be missed. Enjoy and take plenty of money because a coffee in some of the ports like stavanger can cost $10+ for a basic coffee and food isnt cheap either.

Just had a notification from P&O that some staff on Arvia have contracted Chickenpox and will be removed from the ship as soon as possible and if we have any concerns about this then contact P&O. We are on the ship on Sunday so i hope they have controls in place by then. I contracted it off my young son at 33 years old and i was really ill and covered in nasty spots for 10 days. Its not a joke to catch this. People who have had it can also contract Shingles. I hope any of our friends and indeed most of the staff and passengers have not been affected.

Tiger, its probably cheaper taking them on the cruise rather than booking a Tui holiday at the moment as the prices are ridiculous. We were on Azura out of Malta last July and it was very busy with kids. I wont book school holiday dates again.
