  1. The price of an inside cabin for the April 16th sailing has just dropped to £599 ....bargain?
  2. All this mention of Beer , Hotdogs and Quizes sounds good to me. I just hope they dont run out of most draught beers like they did on Azura in December. Only a month today before we are on Arvia, cant wait. Hope we dont get 70mph winds in the channel like there is tomorrow.
  3. I assume this is only while the ship is docked in Malta? I think they also do this in spain when the ship is docked. My tip here is to buy your booze(not Spirits) at the duty free leading into the port. I took 4 cans of beer and 6 bottles of Diet Coke on board to go in the fridge and a couple of bottles of water as they only have 500ml Tins of spring water ( no longer plastic bottles) and i think they were around £2 a tin.
  4. Thanks TigerB for your detailed response, i may give that a shot and see what is available.
  5. Hello my well travelled ship mates. Has anyone tried to ask for an upgrade of cabin whilst on board the ship if there are cabins available. Im not looking for a free upgrade but how does it normally work. Has anyone gone through the process either at the start or part way throughn a cruise. We are on Arvia 30th April and may want to look at this option if available or if unhappy with inside cabin once onboard. To be honest it does not normally bother us in an inside cabin but we were spoilt on a trip on Iona just after lockdown in a balcont cabin. Thanks for any advice
  6. Oh and after they have served all the customer food they offer the leftover rolls at half price!
  7. Thanks for all the contributions that have given me a better understanding of why this happens. But like Ann says it does seem unfair to keep advertising a port that is more than likely going to be cancelled. We had so much uncertainty with covid , these kind of issues just take the fun and expectation out of cruising. When i book a holiday to the canaries i dont expect the pilot to say sorry guys we are off to benidorm because the airport wont let us land in tenerife.
  8. Bad planning then either with the port authority or P&O or maybe both. Does nobody speak to each other or maybe they need a new abacus to count how many passengers . The mind boggles.
  9. Sorry i should have clarified the cruise starts on 30th April but the stop at Majorca should have been 5th May now its Alicante. Dont Now why MSC seaview is listed on the link so many times. There only appears to be 3 ships and now only 2. Am i missing something. https://www.cruisetimetables.com/visitingpalmademallorcaspain-05may2023.html
  10. Here we go again. We are booked on Arvia for 30th April for a 14 day cruise . One of the ports was Majorca but this has been dropped due to operational reason and now we are going to Alicante AGAIN which is a nice port but i find it irksome that again 3 days after paying the final balance we are informed of this. Anymore changes and it will be a mystery tour cruise.
  11. Richard , from memory it wa s Tender transfer at Sibenik nice and calm in the morning but 3pm in the afternoon it was choppy. Didnt get to see Sibenik centre but loved KRKA.
  12. Last July we were there and we originally booked KRKA national park tour from Split but the transfer time was 90 mins so when they changed the itinary of ports from Rovinj to Sibenik we changed the tour to this port as it was only a 30 min transfer. We were in Split from 8.30 to 5.30pm and found the centre easy to walk around but narrow streets and busy . Dubrovnik was lovely and the courtesy bus drops you right next to the main area and next to the cable car so that tour may be cheaper doing it yourself.
  13. I think they are filed away with my RUSH roll the bones concert Tshirts lol
  14. We also saw him at Wembly Arena where i felt the acoustics were better , i think it was a year before but not exactly sure. Still got t shirts with dragons? on
  15. Saw Bruce at Milton Keynes Bowl in 1993 tickets were £40 , no support band and 3 hours on stage. Dont like his latest stuff though.
  16. I suppose £10 seems cheap when you look at the charitable donation being paid to CPS parking. I guess some mugs will pay it.
  17. We have had two experiences of fly cruise to azura last year , the first was to Malta for croatia cruise we flew out with Tui and flew back with Titan got details about 6 weeks before. Tenerife in december from Gatwick was more confusing as we were late getting the flight details (jet2 from Gatwick) . Seemed strange as Jet2 dont do holiday flights from gatwick BUT it was a special charter only for P&O cruise customers. Oh and one of my cases was damaged on the return . The full width pull along handle was badly bent and the foam cover split but they said it was still useable and wont repair or replace.
  18. Aparently the price of parking with Triangle parking including taxi transfer to and from port is £146 . Never used them so no idea if they are any good.
  19. For 2 weeks 30th april Arvia , its £235, rip off was £165. 10% inflation yeah right. More stealth profiteering.
  20. In addition to Steve's comments we were right at the back of the ship next to the stern Suites and it is very noisy some days when coming into port and the stern thrusters come into use, and this can be at 6am.
  21. Those timings above are pretty much the same as the 2 week cruise on azura we just did. The only difference was because of a late flight from Manchester (snow bound airport) the ship did not depart saturday night but 6am sunday morning and still arrived on time in Madeira.
  22. We were on the ship for 2 weeks from 9th to 23rd and had 12 out of 14 nice days of weather. Madeira on two visits was overcast and looked like rain could occur anytime. The week before they only had one day of sunshine and the sea was rough around Madeira. Plenty of people in the pools. A lot more kids onboard the 16/17th dec onwards. My full review is in the reviews section 'Food Standards need to improve' At the airport on the way back get water from vending machines (1 euro) in the shops its 3.5 to 4.5 euro.
  23. I really hate to be negative but our disembarkation day did not go well. Cases were taken from outside room at midnight and my wife fell ill at 2am being sick every hour. Called duty nurse at 6am ans was told to pick up some anti sickness pills from reception cost £7. Also told we had to vacate room by 8am so not much time for meds to work. It was a close call whether my wife could get on coach fo a 1 hr transfer to tenerife south airport. Luckily after taking a second tablet at 8am she stopped being sick at 11am for coach at 12.15. The worry here was all our luggage was at the airport so if she could not travel i would have had to get luggage back and book a hotel locally for the duration of the illness. Basically you are on your own to sort stuff out. Bottled water is 1euro from vending machines at airport or 3.5 to 4.5 euro in shops. Got back to gatwick pretty much on time and through passport control easily then waited 45 mins for luggage and one case damaged so had to report at the global logisics desk. What a faff. Its been a long day. Overall we still enjoyed the holiday but not one of the best due to medical issues. If i can give anyone any advice its dont delay in getting medical help we felt they did a good job. Merry Christmas guys and happy cruising.
  24. The formal nights were on the sea days too and from Madeira.
