  1. Ironically on the way back north we did stop off at Lisbon on G205 to drop off a very poorly passenger 😳
  2. I booked a cruise on the Arcadia 2 weeks ago and despite not being on the BLC website our membership was accepted for £50 OBC.
  3. Ventura over Iona all day long for me. Too many obstacles and passengers on the Iona for my liking… The stern walk around is much better than the bar area on the Iona and much more romantic and closer to the sea for that adrenaline rush 😊
  4. I get your point now but that’s because you don’t have to book in advance. They’ll also provide testing for those whose results of prior testing have not arrived yet.
  5. But they are offering the pre embarkation testing at the dockside still. The below was taken from the site a few minutes ago which was updated on the 1/6/22 or 6/1/22 for our US cousins.
  6. Green, good to go. Blue, a bit to do. Yellow, lots to do.
  7. Through the door, double bed on the left wall and bunk beds to the right at a right angle to the double. En suite… can’t really remember much about it other than it was to the left of the double when viewed from the foot of the bed. All in all a pretty unremarkable cabin but a bit tight for four and I wouldn’t recommend it for four adults.
  8. Mine was recently rejected because of the 90 day rule. No big deal but it would have been good to know in advance 🙄
  9. Had a square one recently with my wife and 2 granddaughters and it made absolutely no difference whatsoever 👍
  10. Basically children are placed in groups and you can only attend when it’s your groups turn.
  11. When I sailed from Southampton recently the blue lane was much quicker just because it was made up of fewer guests 🤷‍♂️
  12. I’ve got a Princess cruise booked which I booked for the ship in question which was then swapped out for another ship! This too was not considered to be a ‘significant change’… Well it was for me 😡 I complained and got nowhere 🙄
  13. Yes, still not working for me though and this is pretty much how I book most of my cruises. I’ll try a different browser later. Thanks for your responses 👍
  14. There is no option at all to select a cabin which is why I find it strange. I tried phoning a couple times yesterday to ask but gave up waiting.
  15. Guys, any idea why I cannot actually choose my cabin when booking a select fare directly with P&O, yet when I get a quote from other well known UK companies I can in fact select the cabin I want and at a cheaper price 🤷‍♂️ I’d like to book direct but I’m certainly not going to if I can’t choose the cabin I want from those available and end up allocated somewhere I really don’t want to be! To avoid doubt I am looking at P&O’s select fares online not the saver option. Is this a glitch or the norm with Arcadia as I’ve never had this scenario before when booking online. Thanks.
  16. My point exactly as I made earlier 😀 I feel the N Americans are culturally more prepared to tip than the Brits. As for P&O and the no tipping policy it is the case that I do reward good service which is then very much my choice. This tipping malarkey really is a can of worms 😳
  17. P&O for one 👍 Great service comes as standard. Tipping isn't needed on our ships so you can relax knowing good service and good times are all part and parcel of your P&O Cruises holiday.
  18. The difference is I and many others only tip for good service and to whom I want to. If you really think tipping by Brits is a big thing then watch how many tip coach drivers, tour guides etc. on excursions compared to Americans, they certainly won’t be retiring early on the proceeds.
  19. I didn’t make it clear in my post that my cabin steward indicated that he kept what ever I gave him. He can then do what he likes with it 😀 We also gave him a football shirt (soccer) and some other little things that we felt he’d like following a good chat about him and his background.
  20. I don’t actually need to do anything. As I said this maybe a cultural thing re tipping. On my last trip on the Sky I had a long conversation with my cabin steward about tips and following this I will do what I see fit to do. I will not under any circumstances ‘pay’ for poor service blindly. It is not a mandatory charge and to be fair I now prefer the cruise lines that have a ‘no tips’ policy then there’s no issues. The standard of waiting, bar, customer service etc. on the Sky was woeful at times. My cabin steward was great, he got a very good tip and I’m satisfied with that. Whether he shares this or not is his/her issue.
  21. I’ll give you a Brit response 😬 I always take mine off and I tip who I feel deserves it on a personal basis. Especially as I don’t feel I’m as well catered for each evening on the ‘anytime’, ‘freedom’ style of cruising. Some staff just don’t give a damn 🙄 This may well be a cultural thing though 🤔
  22. Look at what I received today 🙄 Thank you for your further email. I can confirm that we are still only able to apply shareholder benefits to cruises departing before the 31st July. Please can I kindly ask you to contact us closer to the time with an up to date proof of shareholdings and we will be happy to process your application for you. Warm regards Lucy Lucy James Pre-Cruise Guest Relations Representative
