  1. We were on the Eclipse in May and enjoyed the food and had some of the best service we have ever had. That’s not to say there haven’t been cutbacks but in my opinion, Celebrity still provides a good product.
  2. Yes, we had an inside cabin on the Eclipse last month and had robes.
  3. I was also impressed with the vegan options on the buffet on the Eclipse. I’m not vegan myself but allergic to dairy (and don’t eat red meat) so having a good vegan selection just gives more more options that I know are dairy free. They had a vegan taco bar one day that I really enjoyed. Now, I just wish Celebrity would follow RC and include vegan items on the menu. That way I don’t have to wait to be surprised by whatever the chef decided to make for the one dairy free dessert that day. There’s something nice about being able to order from the menu and know ahead of time what I’m getting.
  4. I'm very curious what the $11K per person cost covers if it is not the hotel stay.... It doesn't seem worth $250 worth of food and drink.
  5. The comment I was replying to (and the general point of this thread) is whether this is a pricing error which is what my comment addressed. But yes, it would still be a good deal to book the cruise only guarantee and add the drink package and internet.
  6. Price out a verandah where you get to select your room and you will see the difference between cruise only and AI is $75 pp/pd which is right in line with typical AI pricing. They want to fill the ship and are willing to take a loss on the cruise fare but not the add-ons. This makes perfect sense after final payment when there are still plenty of cabins to book.
  7. Assuming this is the Silhouette (based on the date in the fine print of your screenshot), it appears the lower price you are quoting is a deeply discounted guarantee cruise only rate likely meant to fill the ship now that final payment has likely passed. Celebrity likely is willing to deeply discount the cruise part to fill the ship but doesn’t want to lose money on all the extras people buy.
  8. On our last Constellation cruise there was a toddler in the Retreat. They tended to eat in Luminae at less busy times. The staff were wonderful with them. One of the assistant waiters would take him for a little walk out to the entry way of the restaurant when she wasn’t occupied by other tables which gave the parents a nice break to actually eat. I think you will find the crew to be very accommodating and being in the Retreat means crew have just a little more time they can spend with passengers.
  9. There isn’t just one level of WiFi. You just can no longer purchase the lower tier a la cart. Anyone who has AI with an Aqua class or lower stateroom has basic Wi-Fi with slower speeds and limited capabilities unless they upgrade to premium. (Maybe I misunderstood the comment I was responding to as I thought they were asking about whether with this change the premium Wi-Fi they already upgraded to would be better than premium had been in the past. Nothing has changed in the last month to the speeds of each plan.) What has changed is the price. So if you upgraded at a higher price than current upgrade prices, according to the FAQ you should get OBC.
  10. insuremytrip.com is another website that allows you to compare multiple companies at once. I personally have never purchased the cruise line insurance because I have always found better coverage for the same or less elsewhere.
  11. I'm sorry for all you went through. It's not going to make us switch to all carry on though. We cross pack between suitcases and our carryons enough that if we really had to we would be able to get buy mostly (with a few quick purchases) if some went missing that I can't imagine sitting around waiting for a bag in a foreign city instead of exploring it and going on our tours. We also stick with hotels that generally would be able to receive a suitcase for us from the airlines while we are out. And we recently have purchased AirTags. I know none of that is foolproof but it's enough precautions to make me plenty comfortable.
  12. Same service, whether you will get a refund or not depends on the price you paid. If you don't get a letter in your stateroom, I would go to Guest Services and ask about it.
  13. 477 If you click on the top part of that link, it should take you directly to that post. At least that is how it worked for me in my browser.
  14. According to Celebrity's website, they aren't selling the basic anymore so I assume what you are seeing is the premium but that price is a steal.
  15. On the Eclipse last month, my husband had the basic internet package and when he did speed tests, it showed SpaceX Starlink as the provider. I can’t imagine it would be cost effective to maintain two different internet systems on the same ship (although there may have been a transition period where that happened). Also, seeing the speed you posted, I expect your cruise was early on in the transition as I haven’t seen anyone get even close to those speeds recently.
  16. I've also seen it show up in the app as its own restaurant called "Special Event: Taj X Dinner". Clicking on the menu for that restaurant and scrolling through the days will show you which day it is scheduled for. The price I see in the app is $59 pp (plus I assume gratuities).
  17. The price limit of each package isn’t applicable to non-alcohol beverages.
  18. I have looked at it but never used it because the amount of data that comes with the plan (at least when I considered it) was so incredibly small and the charges for going over that data limit very high. So read the fine print on how much data is included.
  19. I have seen tweaks to excursion times all the way up until I'm already on board the ship. They usually are minimal changes, if any but it can happen.
  20. I'm pretty sure even the non-suites on the Xpedition and Exploration get free wi-fi. Celebrity's website lists unlimited wifi as a general amenity for all three of their Galapagos ships. There really isn't a way to buy extras on these cruises. They are meant to be all-inclusive.
  21. I don’t think Murano ever was on any M class ship.
  22. I thought all bookings on Galapagos ships included Wi-Fi so I’m not sure why you would pay for a separate cellular at sea plan.
  23. Even though it allows you to choose early or late dining when you book an Edge class ship, I don’t think any of them are actually doing fixed dining in practice. I suggest choosing Anytime so that you have the ability to make reservations ahead of time if you want.
  24. None of the juices or smoothies in the Spa Cafe are covered by the classic drink package. All the food is included for anyone (with or without a drink package). The only drinks NOT covered at Cafe al Bacio under the classic package are a few of the alcohol based ones that are over $10, although your drink package does get you a $10 discount on any of those drinks.
  25. I'm allergic to dairy and have had a similar experience on every Celebrity cruise I've taken regardless of whether I'm in the MDR or Luminae. This definitely is one area where Celebrity shines.
