  1. I realize there are no limits and some ships are sailing at 100%+ capacity but some sailings (due to less demand) are at lower capacities still. So my question was specific to the current sailings where there are reports of a reduced dinner buffet.
  2. What’s the capacity like on those ships right now? How limited is the buffet in those cases?
  3. Do we have any confirmation that this limited evening buffet is happening on any other ships yet? With the Edge being only at about 75% of its double occupancy capacity at least part of what is happening there could be due to lower capacity and underutilization of the evening buffet.
  4. The other example given in that same thread was a concierge AI refundable deposit rate being about the same as an interior cruise only non-refundable deposit rate on the same sailing. These are not small mistakes and I have a hard time believing people have truly found deals this good that are comparable.
  5. Does the menu mention any details about the lobster on the night the first it is complimentary? The reason I'm asking is the menu they were testing on Royal with the same change listed a Maine Lobster instead of the small warm water ones cruise lines usually serve in the MDR. I personally would rather one better Maine Lobster over multiple smaller warm water lobsters.
  6. Even the menu changes haven't been fully rolled out yet. Last I heard they were going to spend the holidays going over all the feedback on menu changes they received from the Symphony. I'm on the Freedom of the Seas in less than 10 days and so far based on reports and what is showing in the app, it still looks like the old menus. We'll see when I actually board. (We'll also see if I get twice a day housekeeping service.)
  7. The reports I am seeing are an offer of a 10% discount off the corrected fare or cancelling without penalty. That isn't a super generous offer but it also isn't a "Celebrity's way or the highway" kind of offer.
  8. Even then someone could claim it wasn't clear to them. So you clearly are willing to draw that line somewhere. Should your opinion on where to draw the line be the one we all follow?
  9. In this case, the sale is already complete. A booking with a cruise line for 2 years in the future is not actually a completed sale. I don't think this is a fair comparison.
  10. But we clearly don't agree on what that means for what Celebrity should or can do in this case.
  11. I'm pretty sure there was a box I checked agreeing to terms and conditions when I made my select dining reservations several months ago (and the mention of the $10 cancellation fee was in those terms and conditions at that time). I'm not sure this is new.
  12. With that argument, a company should never be able to claw back pricing that is a mistake because someone may have thought it was just a good deal and not an obvious error. Where is that line between obvious error and great deal? Who gets to decide where that line is? In this case, we are talking about deals that say cruisers know sound too good to be true. This isn't just Celebrity changing their mind. And I highly doubt this is a decision Celebrity took lightly. I'm sure they could predict that backlash this would cause. They aren't going to make this some general policy (as some in this and other threads seem to fear) because the backlash would only get worse and they wouldn't stay in business long.
  13. Earlier this week, on another forum someone from the Reflection was getting a lot of pushback. They had purchased it for two different cruises on the Reflection this year (I don't think they are B2B). They eventually agreed to allow the upgrade for the first cruise but warned they would not do the same on that person's next cruise.
  14. When I booked our Select dining reservations a couple months ago for our upcoming cruise, this same verbiage was in the terms and conditions so it is not brand new language. At the time (a couple months ago), there was discussion in some group I am in (not sure if it was here or elsewhere) and people's experience was that they were not charging this fee for no shows in the MDR. That doesn't mean they won't in the future though. As a courtesy, I think it is always good to let them know if you don't plan to make a reservation.
  15. Since the restart we have cruised Celebrity (Constellation), Princess (Emerald and Caribbean), Carnival (Ecstasy), and NCL (Prima). In my opinion, based on those cruises since the restart, Celebrity is a step above when it comes to the overall food experience and they handled my food allergy better than the others (especially better than Princess which was a frustrating experience). Celebrity also tends to have more spacious rooms (especially compared to Princess). And I really like the quieter vibe of Celebrity (which is fairly similar to Princess in that respect). We have found great music in lounges on Celebrity and all the other lines we sailed except NCL's Prima (we were very disappointed in the lounge music on that cruise). RCCL and NCL are far better when it comes to shows, especially broadway type shows. We are not spa people so I can't speak to that. As you can see in my signature, we have cruises booked on a variety of lines. Celebrity is definitely towards the to of our list of cruise lines we enjoy (because of the food and vibe we like) but we are not loyal to Celebrity. For each trip we take, we focus on what our goals are (itinerary, relaxation, ship experiences, etc.) and that is what drives us when making a decision on which line and ship to sail.
  16. You think having money to pay full price for a suite means someone is respectful, kind, and all that you describe and that not having money means people behave “like they are on Carnival”? That doesn't match with my experience. I meet kind and respectful people from all walks of life and rude and obnoxious people from all walks of life.
  17. The FAQs still mention just paying the difference. https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/beverage-packages
  18. Which ship? All I have heard so far is they are testing it out on the Quantum of the Seas. I'm curious if Royal has released details on rolling it out to all ships.
  19. I don't know why but mine constantly changed in the weeks and months before my cruise.
  20. Menus on the app are not accurate until just about the time you walk on the ship.
  21. Accurate to your specific situation where you purchased both during the old and new pricing and may even be specific to the fact that your purchases were made in two different orders. My point was that I don't think anyone truly knows the answer to this question right now and I wouldn't be surprised if the answer you get is different depending on the agent you talk to because of how much things are in transition right now. My comment was just a warning to others that we don't really have a clue what Celebrity is doing with these packages (or a number of things).
  22. Yes, they announced a change on December 19 although their system clearly didn't have the change those first days (maybe even week).
  23. We are currently in a transition with these new drink packages and new drink package policies. I'm not sure we can assume that just because you were able to do this today that going forward both won't have to have the same package. There are still way too many questions about what exactly is changing with these packages that I wonder if even Celebrity has ironed out all the details and I'm sure there is still a lot of training to be done with staff.
  24. I highly doubt room service charges will apply to suites. As for the justification for the extra charge for standard rooms, the purpose of the charge is likely to try to decrease the number of people ordering room service (as some will skip room service altogether if what they want isn't free), not try to justify it.
  25. Terminal 6 - On another forum some have reported being able to drop off luggage (and then were told to return later).
