  1. It’s spelled out in the terms and conditions and I believe also the FAQ. Any perks (Wi-Fi, beverage package, and included gratuities) you keep from your original booking along with the number of loyalty points you would earn from your original booking. But you gain any amenities (like Blu, Luminae, concierge, Butler, etc.).
  2. She had a pretty big refresh (new carpet, paint, furniture, etc. in a lot of the public areas) in July of 2021 before her restart. I don’t imagine they will do any revolutionizing of ships until Celebrity is more financially recovered from the shutdown.
  3. I agree the extra paperwork won’t help since a passport is required for a cruise out of Vancouver. I would look at whether Canada has a six month rule for visitors. The six months rule applies to non-citizens entering a country and not all countries have the six month rule. The US isn’t going to deny a US citizen entry because their passport doesn’t have six months left on it.
  4. We were supposed to visit Belize next Tuesday (11/8) on the Constellation. Although it has not been consistently changed, I'm seeing a reference to an arrival in Costa Maya at 9:00 a.m. that day in the daily planner of the app.
  5. As we debate tipping in this thread, I just want to point out that at least in my app, Celebrity is calling this a “specialty dining service charge”. This is just part of the current fee structure for specialty dining. And the change was probably made this way because although Celebrity’s costs are going up, they know there would be even more push back against an outright increase in the cost of specialty dining. It also keeps them competitive when so many consumers compare base prices instead of all in prices.
  6. I’m pretty sure Australia and NZ still have testing requirements for cruise ships (which likely are different than the requirements for this we flying in). All cruise lines are requiring testing for these itineraries and there have been reports from a Princess ship that some of the ports have even required additional testing upon arrival at that port in the last week or so. Celebrity isn’t doing this just for fun.
  7. The same way they have been handling most shorter cruises (9 nights or less) for the last month or two. At boarding/part of the health questionnaire you have attest to or show proof of either your vaccination status or a negative test.
  8. US website has now been updated with this change! 🙂 https://www.celebritycruises.com/health-and-safety
  9. For our Constellation cruise that leaves this Sunday, we received an e-mail 30 days before sailing with the eDocs attached. At about that same time, they also became available to download if you log into the website and look at your list of reservations.
  10. Yes, the e-mails from Royal that I have seen posted in Facebook groups today said effective Nov 2 (today).
  11. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/will-i-have-to-take-a-test-before-i-cruise The first line says, "Pre-cruise testing is no longer required to sail, with a few exceptions." And then it goes on to outline the few exceptions.
  12. The video talks about the middle Magic Carpet Suites connecting to an inside cabin through a hallway as you describe. But then he talks about the outer Magic Carpet Suites connecting to an IV cabin next door and he points out the door which is clearly inside the cabin. Just looking at deck plans, I don't think all of the outer Magic Carpet Suites connect to an IV, just some of them.
  13. Royal just dropped testing for most cruises today (exceptions remain for cruises that stop in certain port countries). We shall see if Celebrity follows.
  14. They are traditional balconies because they are Sky Suites. There are never people on the Magic Carpet when it moves. Your view would just be very temporarily blocked when it moves.
  15. Sunset Bar (aft of the deck with the buffet) is a fun sailaway spot. If you want a quieter place with more shade, the Promenade deck is also a great place. We don't typically do specialty dining so I don't have any recommendations but we will be on the Constellation (the Summit's sister) leaving this Sunday and are actually booked for Tuscan Grill one night and my husband his Mom are probably going to try Le Petit Chef. Sushi on Five is the third specialty dining on the M Class ships.
  16. Do your research. Anytime I've seen someone report back about Cellular at Sea even those who pre-cruise talked to their cell company about the plan, I hear that the service was not reliable and that they came back to huge roaming charges they did not expect from their phone carrier.
  17. It's not an additional class. Celebrity just has decided to offer additional amenities to their very top suites which include specialty dining. That is just not the reality of cruising on any major cruise line right now. All cruise lines add auto gratuities in various ways. It's part of the fee structure. No, it really isn't a tip in the traditional sense. But it is what cruise lines are doing to stay competitive because too often people look at the base price when comparing one product to another completely ignoring the additional costs. Until all cruise lines make a change on tipping structure and/or people start comparing the all in price when comparing one product to another, nothing is going to change.
  18. I don't think it is reasonable to think that the tips being included within the Retreat would also apply to additional services outside the Retreat that guests choose to purchase (like specialty dining, spa, etc.).
  19. If there is space in Luminae, you can sometimes pay for non-Retreat guests to dine with you. Otherwise, non-Retreat guests cannot get access to any of the rest of the Retreat areas.
  20. This is my favorite art on this ship. Dale Chihuly's glass sculptures can be found in museums and gardens all over the world. I can't wait to see it in person in just over a week.
  21. With how fast the cruise ship is making the four hour adjustment, it is unlikely to match the actual time zones (which is what your phone will do if set to automatic) throughout all of these next days. I always set manually on cruise ships to avoid any confusion but I have yet to do a cruise that goes across the Atlantic where there aren't obvious cities in each time zone.
  22. It could also still be true if there were no cabins currently available in that category. The MoveUp program regularly lets you bid on sold out categories in case of cancellations or others moving up.
  23. To me, this just looks like a marketing scheme to try and get people who have already made bids to bid more.
