  1. When they retired the Elevate and Indulge packages earlier this year, I recall reading a warning that any price adjustments on existing bookings with either package would lose the Elevate/Indulge package but I can't now find where I read that.
  2. Great photos! Our cruise was 2016. Here are a few photos.
  3. We were on the Eclipse that week a number of years ago and upon boarding, Christmas decorations had already been put up throughout the ship and then mid-cruise a huge gingerbread display appeared in the Grand Foyer overnight. It is a lovely time of year to cruise.
  4. The Millennium has been revolutionized so will have a retreat deck and updates throughout. It is also a smaller ship. I personally am a huge fan of the M class ships. The Eclipse has not been revolutionized (although that didn't stop us from booking a cruise on her next spring). She is also a lovely ship but just hasn't been completely updated yet.
  5. I always recommend putting your phone in manual mode for the time when on a cruise and manually choosing the time zone as the ship tells you to change the clock. This way you won't be caught off guard by an automatic time zone change that doesn't match the ship's clock.
  6. Inside rooms are great if all you plan to do is sleep and shower in them. We book them sometimes when we want to save money and find it encourages us to get out and enjoy the ship more. Think about location when you book yours. It's nice to be convenient to a public space you plan to enjoy a lot. On my last cruise we had an inside room right near the pool deck so it was easy to go out and watch the sunrise when I wanted. They do not have alarm clocks in the cabin but I believe you can use the stateroom phone to set up a wake up call. We just always use our cell phones. I've also heard of others leaving the bridge cam on the TV which will help you stay in tune with nighttime/daylight outside.
  7. The crew see a lot more than you realize. People trying to do what you are suggesting is why many cruise lines require both people in a cabin to get the same drink package.
  8. According to the website, full price it is $18 per person per day to upgrade from classic to premium. Pre-cruise discounts and loyalty discounts (which kick in before Elite) bring that down lower. Some people recently have even reported getting it for the old rate of $10-12 per person per day.
  9. At the top, you probably see three icons (a ship, a calendar, and a person). If so, click on the person (the right one). Then it should show the cruise it is currently showing and there should be an option to "Select a different" cruise underneath.
  10. Although Celebrity hasn't had a requirement for boosters across the board, boosters have mattered and even been required for certain itineraries. It appears they still do matter in Europe if you want to avoid having to test on a 9 night or less sailing.
  11. What’s your concern? It won’t affect any test you might have to take. And I’m not aware of any itinerary that requires a third booster so they shouldn’t be looking at how close it is to your cruise.
  12. Absolutely, we will not blame the butler. And if they can't give them to us, that's just how it will be.
  13. This is our plan (in less than 2 weeks) hoping we have a butler who is willing and able to snag a couple for us.
  14. There are often showers and clouds in the forecast but that doesn't mean they last all day. The Caribbean is known for being hot, humid, and frequently experiencing brief showers. The weather really doesn't change much year round.
  15. I think it depends how much of a bucket list cruise the Panama Canal is and your interest in the canal. With a partial transit, you still get to go through a set of locks (twice) and see Lake Gatun. And you still get a chance to do excursions about the locks. Personally, I think it is more important that your ship is small enough to use the old locks. The old locks have a lot more history and are quite a bit more interesting (although the tugboats were fun to watch going through the new locks). The Celebrity Millennium uses the old locks. I'm pretty sure the S class and E class ships are all too big for the old locks so will use the new locks.
  16. No, the round-trip cruises either go through the Atlantic side locks (drop people off in Gatun Lake for locks related excursions) and then return through those same locks. Or there may be a few that don't even go through at all and just stop in Panama so that people can take excursions to the locks.
  17. @chemmo Thanks for all the tips! I want to make good use of the butler but not in a way that burdens. The list I started does include the morning coffee and pastries we will want and a list of afternoon snacks we like (asking that they will vary what they bring).
  18. Is it usually the same butler who handles both the penthouse and the adjoining sky suite on M class ships? I would assume so but I don't really know how they assign butlers. Anyone know how many suites the butler handles? Just curious how many possibly conflicting demands they are juggling.
  19. We received our e-mail from shoreside at 25 days before our cruise. I responded with our requests and a couple questions and after no response for a week, I followed up but have now received a response and it looks like we are set. I’m now working on a simple list of what we like along with our shoreside requests to hand to the butler in embarkation day. We are so looking forward to it!
  20. It may play a role but my example above were on ships at or smaller than the S class size and included an M class ship that docked on the port side in Cozumel and a Carnival ship that is smaller than the M class that docked on the port side for both ports.
  21. Do you participate in many Royal Facebook Groups or Cruise Critic forums? Dress code is just as active of a topic in the Royal groups I read with plenty of people judging others for what they think is inappropriate in the dining room. That is one topic that can get quite heated in any cruise community.
  22. This thread got me curious about my last cruises so I went through my photos. Over the last year, I have taken 5 cruises on 3 different cruise lines (including Celebrity). Not counting embarkation and disembarkation ports, we docked on the port side at 8 ports and on the starboard side only 4 of those ports. (There were also 5 tender ports during those cruises.) All of our embarkation and disembarkation ports were docked on the starboard side except LA. Edited to add: Including embarkation and disembarkation that’s about 55% starboard and 45% port.
  23. If you click on Dining on the app, Luminae menus might be in one of two places - either under Main Dining or you may have to scroll to the right to Loyalty & Suites. I see with both ways with my two upcoming cruises.
  24. It depends on so many factors (weather, berth assignment, waters around the port, ability to turn around, whether they need to test the lifeboats on the other side, request of the local pilot, etc.) that there is no way to forecast which way a ship will dock. Even in the exact same port, in the same berth the ship may back in one time and pull in forward another time.
  25. Breakfast is available in the main dining room everyday, lunch only on sea days
