  1. Thank you for the advice! I picked Fort Pierce because of its location before getting on I-95. I will certainly look into Vero Beach. I just didn’t know where to start!
  2. Hello! Our Cruise out of Port Canaveral doesn’t happen until February, 2025, but I am looking into hotels to stay the night before. Fort Pierce is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from us. This would work out well and then drive the rest of the way to port. Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice hotel in Fort Pierce? Thanks!
  3. I found when Holland posts its itinerary on the app, providing it is correct, it will show Dressy Night Photos 5:00-10:00 for certain evenings. That’s what I figured out when dressy nights were because the app shows only smart casual for every day.
  4. Thanks for all your responses! It was a random article I was reading, and cannot now find it. But it mentioned the crew used these secret sockets to plug-in vacuum cleaners and such, especially when all the other accessible outlets are being used by the passengers.
  5. I was reading an article about secret sockets to plug in electronics and such. Some are under the bed or in a closet. Has anyone discovered these hidden treasures?
  6. Thank you so much for responding, Kate! Now I know!
  7. We are hoping to get a day pass at the Chogogo Resort when we arrive in April. Would like to try snorkeling for the first time! I’m assuming their dive shop rents equipment. Any idea on cost? Is a snorkel and mask enough, or do I need fins as well? Thanks!
  8. Tennis shoes (or sneakers if that’s what you may call them), daytime sandals, black nighttime sandals, flip-flops, water shoes, slippers to wear in the stateroom. I don’t ever go barefoot. EW! 😉
  9. We took a June trip to Alaska. My advice is to plan ahead of course, but watch the weather forecast. Some ports we were walking around in T-shirts and jeans. In Ketchikan it was very cold and raining. We went on the crab boat excursion, and I ended up wearing water resistant pants, long sleeved top, fleece jacket, rain coat, Sperry boots. At one point I used my hat and gloves. Overkill? Maybe, but I was glad I had these items.
  10. Thanks. Odd that HAL would cancel. I found a private company that is still offering bookings.
  11. I was hoping to book a Land Sailing excursion in Bonaire, but it has disappeared. Does that mean it is sold out or canceled altogether?
  12. Holland is offering this excursion on our April cruise. Has anyone done this? Would you recommend it? Thanks!
  13. While we have been on several cruises, this will be our first time where we are given specialty dining credits. How does this actually work? I know I need to make reservations, but how does the restaurant know we have these credits? If our final tab goes over the credit amount, does the excess automatically get charged to our account? Would love to hear from the experts. Thanks!
  14. We are looking at an excursion “white pass railway & suspension bridge.” The date we would be in Skagway is September 30. I am reading that the bridge closes the day or two before. Will the train still stop there? I am assuming we just would not be able to cross the bridge, correct? Thanks!
  15. Oh, thank you so much! We did the crab boat on our first trip. (It was the excursion that got my DH to go to Alaska!) We thoroughly enjoyed it. I definitely want to do a train ride on this trip. I was looking at the White Pass railway and suspension bridge. However, for our port date, I saw the bridge is closed for the season. I’m not sure if we would still stop there or not. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing your photos.
  16. Wow! What an amazing review! We will be on the Sun, September 2024. What are the best excursions you would recommend?
  17. I took advantage of this new discount. We were on the cusp with the last sale and we’re barely breaking even. While we won’t be saving lots of $$$, it’s knowing we can now take advantage of trying lots of new drinks.
  18. Next month we will be driving ourselves to Fort Lauderdale for our royal Caribbean cruise. I’m seeing parking should be at terminal 18. Is this an actual garage or a surface lot? Also, is signage pretty clear on where we should go? I am confused on directions getting to the port and parking. Any help would be much appreciated!
  19. After dying my hair for 40 years I told myself when I turned 65 I would quit. My hair is now a beautiful silver color! Who knew! I love being free from the box.
  20. Good to know! We have a 5:30 dinner time. But then, drinks are good after dinner too! 😉
  21. Don’t really care for the pool bars. It may just be me, but the bartenders are so rushed and the drinks don’t taste as good.
