not onboard - you must pay it and If you wish to adjust the DSC they have you fill out a post cruise form explaining why, then you email it to corporate, and then they reimburse your cc for the adjustment. Takes several weeks (anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks)Thank you for the reply.

When there are 2 Princess ships at St. Thomas, one docks at Havensight and one at Crown Bay.
This was true 3+ years ago, when princess had their agreement to use crown bay.
Only one grand class (or larger) ship could fit at crown bay, due to the water depth on one side of the pier.
Since the crown bay agreement lapsed, there is rarely a princess ship at crown bay.

Has anyone heard when the Coke Freestyle Machines will be installed? I am looking forward to having some caffeine free options. I’m hoping they will be added before our cruise on the Royal Princess.

Has anyone else seen a freestyle machine on royal (or any other princess ship)?

Oh I realize that most of the people simply love the shopping offered at Havensight although there are no real bargains.
In her later years, my mom could not walk very far.
She like havensite, as she could get to the shops.
You can walk downtown from either crown bay, or haven site -- the wallk from havensite is a little shorter, and a lot prettier.
Once you get there though, same downtown...
I recall once -- bring a coupon to some jewelery store to get a free pair of diamond stud ear rings.
I was particularly impressed when they had to dig through a plastic bag looking for two that the
stone hadn't already fallen out of!
No one has mentioned that Havensite is closer to Kmart!
And, there used to be a KFC, but I don't know if that is still there.
And, the pueblo supermarket is a little closer in Havensite than in Crown Bay.

I think there was more than one (maybe not full Captains) but Capt Warner stayed and never came back. Probably retired.
There is a mandatory retirement age for british officiers. ...which is what bumped Mike Moulin
and probably Captain Warner.
He went to Cunard, and Alistair Greener (cruise director)

Yes.
And, at what time are each movie being shown?
And, most important .... will I enjoy it?

NCL did this a while back ..... they call it a "Daily Service Charge" and they currently charge $15/day for standard rooms.
Can this be 'cancelled' by passengers? ...as it can be on Princess.

Seems like you could get a better response from people if you improve your communication. Paragraphs, punctuation, and brevity go a long way to getting your point across correctly.

You seem very rude.
What basis do you have to question someone's integrity?
Keyboard anonymity?
If you have some reason we should all doubt the original posters honesty, please share.

When did it change from Crown Bay to Havensight?
As I posted earlier l can't ever remember not docking at Crown Bay with Princess. Looking back we might have docked at WICO on one of our Caribbean Princess summer cruises about 7 years ago when there are not that many ships in the Caribbean in the summer.
Princess got a break on docking fees by using crown bay when it opened.
They had a 10 year contract, that they subjected their passengers to.
At the end ... it wasn't too bad. But, for the first year or two, all that was there
was a pavillion. There were no stores built.
;
The 10 years ended, and Princess has moved back to havensite.
I think royal carribbean is now enjoying crown bay.

Does anyone get a free upgrade after asking? Anyway, I thought the days of free mega upgrades are gone. Now it is 'upsell'.
It doesn't matter if it is right or wrong to ask for an upgrade. It might be the most absurd thing ever...
But...
The princess agent told her she had been upgraded.
She has every right to be upset that it didn't happen.

I don't know why you would think you are entitled to anything free for your husband's birthday, other than a sign on your stateroom door and a tiny cake at dinner. Sorry if I sound unsympathetic.
Did anyone read the whole post, before jumping in to defend their beloved princess?
At the end of the call with the first agent, the agent told the customer that she had found an upgrade to a mini-suite for the same price.
Perfect. Customer happy.
The subsequent issue and calls were because the promised upgrade did not show up.
Perhaps this section from the original post will be helpful:
’.She Said yes, and told me to hold a second to check the rates .She informed me that I was in luck! That she found a mini suite for the same price that I booked my balcony and said that she would upgrade me. I thanked her several times because I could not express how elated I was. She began the process and my phone alerted me of a princess email .
Once the agent said "I have upgraded you", the custome has every right to expect the upgrade,
and to be disappointed if they don't get it.

It still is a wonder to me that folks worry about having super fast internet speed while on a ship. Internet on a ship wasn't an option years ago and folks had a great time leaving the world behind and enjoyed the real reason for being on a cruise.
I think the change was when princess started promising "the best wifi at sea".
Once princess promised it, people expected it.

It's in the terms.
*All Internet usage subject to Princess Cruises' standard policies, which may limit browsing of sites due to network security and bandwidth usage. Applications that use high bandwidth may be blocked and offerings subject to change.
I think it would be helpful to passengers to know before they purchase ... which sites are considered 'high bandwidth'.
And, the "PrincessCONNECT — Social Package -- Unlimited access to the most popular social websites and applications."
It would sure be good to know if what I was interested was include in 'popular', to know which package to purchase.
'
And, "PrincessCONNECT — Surf Package - Surf your favorite sites from e-mail, news, sports and more."
How can they know which sites are my favorites? 🙂

It is not a law but rather a DHS regulation.
This is an exact quote of what you wrote previously:
"Usually the big rush to board is the first few hours so that by 2:00 or so it dwindles down to being able to almost walk right onto the ship. Just keep in mind they have to stop all boarding's 90 minutes prior to departure (sail away) by federal law."
Clearly gentle readers here should rely on the Princess Answer Book for correct information and not rely on what is posted here,
regardless of how/where they bought their tickets.

It has been my experience that when the captain waits for pax to arrive, the pax bought their airline tickets and transportation from the airport from the cruise line.
First you told us it was a law, and that no one could board later than 90 minutes before sailing...
Folks have posted persoanal examples to the contrary.
If one reads the the princess Answer Book, it states that completing the online cruise personalizer is sufficient to meet the manifest requirement.
When a passenger screams up to the ship in a cab at the last minute, while the ship is being held for them ...
I do wonder how you would have 'experience' as to how the passenger bought their ticket and transportation...
Do you rush down to the gangway, and survey them?
And, what's your sample size?
In the personal example posted here, the passenger was not flying at all. They had driven to the port.
The husband ... twice.
If is certainly possible for any passenger to call princess and advise them about enroute travel delays, with the hope
that the ship could be held. Or, have their travel agent do so. Or, have registered their flights in the personalizer.

I've heard the same thing but all I can go by is what happened to us.
The deal with submitting the manifest is covered in the cruise answer book (pdf) page 3.
As long as you have provided the information in the cruise personalizer in advance,
you can board right up to sailing. (not that anyone would recommend doing it)
https://www.princess.com/html/global/brochures/pc/cruise-answer-book-v4.pdf
Apparently federal law has changed in the past hour or so, based on the editing
done by posters here...
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has mandated that Cruise Lines must
transmit their departure manifests no later than 60 minutes prior to departure
from the U.S. To comply, passenger information must be processed at least 90
minutes prior to the scheduled sailing time. Therefore, passengers must
provide complete and accurate immigration details in advance of the embarkation
date. This can be done online via the Cruise Personalizer at http://www.princess.com
up to six days prior to sailing. The eTicket Boarding Pass will serve as the
receipt at check-in. Missing details may be submitted up to six days prior by
calling 1-800-PRINCESS. International callers may dial +1-661-753-0000. Please
ensure that your travel plans permit adequate time for arrival to the ship.
Passengers who have not provided the required details in advance **MUST** be
checked-in no later than 90 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time or
they will be denied boarding. Thank you for your attention to this important
information. We look forward to welcoming you aboard a Princess cruise!

That's not what the law says. at all.
I have seen the ship held for a few people stuck on a late flight.
The people show up, board, and the ship sails immediately.
From time-to-time, the captain will also make an announcement around sail-away time that
they are waiting for a couple people...

Princess requires that you watch a safety video staring the current Love Boat cast and theme. If you do not watch the entire video the TV will not allow you to select anything. What do you think of the idea? It duplicates much of the muster drill.
Turn on the tv when you first drop your carry on bags in the cabin. Go to lunch. Problem solved.
This isn't the Princess Clockwork Orange, where they duct tape you to a chair, prop you eyelids open with toothpicks, and force you to watch.
With regard to the video, and the current muster drill --- it should be something to be take seriously, and yet princess has dumbed
it down to a second grade level. Well done, Princess.
