  1. Thanks to all who've replied. I really appreciate it.
  2. Park N Fly in Dania Beach has a shuttle and has some covered spots. The same lot services the airport and the cruise terminal. AAA rates offered. PNF.com
  3. We take our first river cruise this summer on AMA Magna. The new app will not let me link my cruise until 3 weeks out. Is there anyway to reserve ship excursions before that? Also, does AMA allow passengers to carry liquor on board for consumption in their rooms, ala Oceania? Thanks for any info.
  4. So sorry to read this, but not surprised at all the accolades for Don. His posts were thoughtful and his wisdom invaluable. Sincere condolences.
  5. We sailed Dec 4 with approx. 1070 passengers. Isn't that something like 1/3 capacity?
  6. As stated by a couple of folks here Reflection service has been exceptional since the restart.
  7. To be fair, we found service on Connie to be in line with expectations (700 pax) and on Summit (353 pax as stated earlier) to be beyond expectations. Reflection in December was over the top (1070 pax I think). I stated in an earlier thread I had never had a pool butler witness my arrival to the main pool and instantly set me up with chairs and towels, and greet me with an unfurled towel as I exited the pool. Is this a Reflection thing?
  8. Well, they hired Kelly Hoppen. She designed our rooms not knowing anything about what a cruiser needs or wants in an accommodation. As an aside, we too were on Connie's first sail in November and Summit's repo to Bayonne. A certain restaurant staffer was on both, who confided one of the staffing issues involves new hires getting their visas, arriving in Miami and suddenly vanishing once in the US. They never show to the job.
  9. My apologies for the typo in my previous post.
  10. Thanks for the link, LTH28. I'll give it a shot.
  11. We are on AMA Magna in August. This was a very informative thread. Thank you all.
  12. We're on Silhouette's TA from Southampton Oct 2023. 11 Nights!
  13. I miss the Eclipse 14 day in the Caribbean. We met the same people year after year.
  14. 100 shares. $100 OBC per cruise. No limit.
  15. Very sorry for your experience. We just did the Summit repositioning and there was plenty of Decoy, along with Foley and Cherry Tart Pinot Noir. We found the food and service overall to be very good. We only had 353 passengers, so it was hard not be be well served.
  16. We noticed them with great satisfaction.
  17. Just did 9 night repo on Summit. Had escargot every night and they were huge...and piping hot.
  18. We were just down the hall from the OP and share many of his observations. Everything on the ship was open, but with only 353 pax many features were under utilized, at least by us. We didn't need the retreat lounge (except to grab a couple of Evians) because the bars were not crowded. Always a seat at Martini Bar. We didn't use the Retreat sundeck much because it offers no wind buffer, and the wind was 20+ nmh for much of the voyage. There's also no rain cover or shade so the weather needs to be perfect for the Retreat deck to be of value. Friends now on board (with 5 times the passengers) report a very different feel. We were spoiled. As Bob mentioned, we know of only one COVID case, as it was in our hallway. The passenger was not moved from the room...I believe because wheelchair access was needed. Whether you book next year is really not a decision you should made based on this very unique capacity experience. But based on the suite layout and balcony situation, we would opt for AQ aft on deck 11.
  19. The sad part about the whole tub issue is it was so easily solved, simply by scoping out the competition. Oceania replaced the tubs in their R class penthouse suites (the sky suite counterpart), with walk-in showers. They are spacious, safe and functional. Those units are also a good marketing tool, as we decided to upgrade from the teeny tiny R class standard bathroom to a PH for the shower alone. As an aside, we had a butler tell us he once had Ms. Hoppen in the Penthouse, and even she complained about the room. He of course didn't voice his silent reaction: "But you designed it....!!!"
  20. To the point, without a hint of **duh** One reason Earl is one of the goods.
