  1. So sorry for you,. Odyssey's was fantastic, so good the tables around us were raving as well.
  2. I've got video but they are so far off away from the ship you wouldn't see them well, Ya gotta be watching. As for the water, You only get blue water way down south on South Padre Island. Gorgeous down there, but too gentle a slope to the sand bottom up near Galveston so always churned up and brown..ick.
  3. I can't agree. Some of the best Italian I've had on land or sea. I loved the pasta carbonara and my hubs loved the lasagna. And everything else we ate there, we went back several times.
  4. Growing up in West Texas and San Antonio, there are 500,000 Mexican food restaurants and they're all just a little different than the next, so everyone has their favorite. There are some bad ones and some good ones, but that is so highly subjective no one ever agrees...well almost no one. Our favorite is owned by a gal from Columbia who learned to cook at another restaurant right there in San Antonio...she has some dishes authentic to her culture and they are just as good as the standard fare, but in any case, I can't expect RCCL to bring it so we just make do. I like Taco Bell as well, as a matter of fact, I read the other day online that Taco Bell is one of the most healthy/freshest fast food joints! So laugh if you want to folks, I do go to Taco Bell to get their Chalupa Supreme on occasion. I would love it if RCCL would get them on board. See, I'm just a foodaholic, I'll eat just about anything and be happy. Hubs spent some time with the Loco Fresh chef discussing the refried bean issue and begging for Pintos, but I wouldn't hold my breath! Black beans are really a Caribbean legume and also called Turtle Beans...interesting factoid! One of the best things we ever had on RCCL was on Radiance on an Alaska trip. Imagine walking into Sarita's ???, can't remember the name of it, and sitting down to have some of the best Tortilla Soup I ever ate, we went there for lunch 2 or 3 times to get it! mmmm I just looked and they took it out and put in a Dog House. Sad!
  5. I'm sure there is, but I don't know how...hubs just downloaded all pics to the cloud from our phones and they all came out in that file mode. I text 'em with no problems

  7. 6 Gen Texan. I've had Mexican in almost every state, nothing compares with TexMex. But I still love New Mexican and Arizona cuisine. My aunt taught me to make all homemade Mexican. She was from Yuma and it is all good. I make my own enchilada sauce, mole, Rejanos, Green Chili Stew, Guac, etc. etc. RCCL's Loco Fresh barely makes Taco Bell grade but is fresh and still pretty good for lunch. We always loved the old Sabors...Tiger Shrimp...mmmmm! But Fresh only has black beans, we need refried Pintos. It's all subjective. I never could handle California's Mexican nor Wyoming...isch.
  8. I'm sure that's absolutely true as well as different in Mid America from NYC, etc etc. But all I know is this had a fairly thin crispy crust and was absolutely delish. But I love pineapple on anything.

  13. I've given it up! I'm now always on vacation from all diets...what's the point. I never gain a pound anyways....too much exercise.

  15. That's ridiculous, if they can deliver it to the room, just have them deliver it to table *** in the MDR! Even I will have to complain if they refuse to honor personal requests. I have never been turned down and I do it at least once on every cruise. I do remember they could not bring me my favorite sugar free Coconut cake once. I asked for it every day until the waiter just said, "The chef said he just cannot have it for you." But all else has never been denied. Guess more corporate letters will go out! NelBlu have you tried making a request with Special Needs for Vegan on your cruises.

  17. We were commenting on the food only. I would never make that my criteria for choosing a ship...and since food is highly subjective, does it really matter?
