  1. Thanks for that tip, I'm recommending Maya Chan to our party in September...we have first time cruisers with us...good choice? Nachi of course for Coz and West End for Roatan. We always liked Mayan Princess for our loungers, we've been there several times, also Bananarama and Tabyana.
  2. Red filters out at less than 15' All our pics were pretty much blue from Roatan I was snorkeling here and those divers were going through the channel. You could still see yellow pretty good, but if you shine a light cannon on a fish, even on a clear day, red comes back.
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJSYv8_cOhw They do, We watched on one Liberty. If the ship is equipped with a helipad with the big circle they will support a chopper easily.
  4. The machines in both lounges on Odyssey were broken and we watched them try to fix it in Diamond lounge..no luck. Very disappointing. The Concierge watched with us so she knew. Never got my morning coffee!😥
  5. The real problem is light. If you take a light canon with you, the colors will come out spectacular, you can rent these too. We used to scuba a lot.
  6. I believe if you look it up, The Gulf Stream does not flow in a westerly direction but in a northerly/easterly direction : This deep water flows to the Gulf of Mexico until it warms enough to resurface and flow back north as the Gulf Stream.
  7. You can ask them to prepare any way you want it, blackened, fried or grilled
  8. I'm not worried nor worked up....are you? See pic upper left..........
  9. Well, whatever is done for whatever reason, I'll be fine with it...but I love it now. Getting it over and done on my time is lovely. We do it the minute we step on board. Listen to the app drill as we wait in terminal. But of course, I will comply without grumbling if I'm asked to go back to it.
  10. Also, If you're in Cozumel, Nachi Cocom has some of the best Fish Tacos ever fresh out of the water!
  11. If you're ever on 281 heading north, make it to Sandra's Mexican Cantina in Spring Branch on the East side of the highway past the river...best on the planet! Order the Fajitas Albanil or just anything, it's all good. Not to be confused with the one in town on Potranco Rd.
  12. Which they do all week long. But not on my time...thank goodness.
  13. I knew you'd be commenting Chief! I still respect everything you say. But the training about fire you mention we never got anyways. And most importantly, I'm not in the coast guard. My job is to go to my muster station, get the jacket and obey the orders, and I feel you can get that much from what we have on our phones/monitors. If we pay no attention or fake it, (which is pretty stupid in my book) that's on us.
  14. We got trapped in the coral once there and had to get a dude on a paddle board to lead us out. Fascinating snorkel but you can easily get distracted by critters and forget to look where you are going. Trapped literally with 10 inches clearance...so embarrassing!
  15. Personally, not. If one is so stupid one cannot glean the info one needs from an iphone or monitor to: 1. get to the right muster station in time of crisis and 2. stand there and be given your jacket, put it on and wait for further instructions, maybe one needs to consider a land vacation where nobody is given any safety info including a driving manual any more. I am much more threatened by driving my car to the corner market than of drowning on a cruise ship. Way more! If watching the stew or a TV on a plane can suffice, why not a ship. I hope they keep things like they are now, convenient, easy and informative without herding us like cattle outside in inclement weather, sometimes to stand when some need to sit, with a bunch of drunk people who aren't listening at all. An individual is responsible for his/her safety and this is just fall out from our society and the all prevailing atmosphere of the nanny state. To think that someone who has done muster 30 times doesn't know how to get there, put on the life jacket and wait is ludicrous. But hey, that's just me.
  16. I agree with you entirely. Don't understand why dis-satisfied cruisers come here to complain when they can be happier on Carni or other lines they rave about. It's OK people. Variety is the spice of life. Sure I remember when food was better quality back in the day when we started, but that was then, this is now. I am excited to try the new menu and glad they made an effort to make things more interesting. One thing I don't do is go to the Carni board and complain about their food and we hated it. We did one cruise with them and I can say HERE, it convinced us to rule out a second even though recently the newer ships have piqued my interest. I wouldn't waste a wooden nickel on one...but I don't go over there and dish. I am not a "cheerleader", just a happy cruiser satisfied with my line of choice. And the rest of you are welcome to your opinions just as I am.
  17. It was here in the US until Kellogg's came along. That was the general consensus, corn was for pigs and cattle. It fattens them up...kinda like us.😉
  18. One thing I'm sure of is....if every ship talked about here had the same food, many of us would be sorely grieved. I'm happy the ships we've cruised have had mostly great food, some misses, but not enough for me to complain. I am one of the best cooks I know and I mess stuff up every once in a while, I guess I can give them a break.
  19. And I'd have to say...NOT IMHO. After being excited to try their pizza on the Lido, I was so disappointed I couldn't finish my slice. I didn't even like the chocolate cake everyone raves about...no accounting for taste is there?
