  1. I agree but we don't mind doing an interior some cruises as well, like the cozy feel of our cocoon and like virtual balcony too so we can see the water. It's ok because we save a lot of money and tend to do them in between the bigger cruises or on shorties like the Vger we just did. Icon coming up is an inside accessible and I'm looking forward to seeing it...will post pics. Our Ascent cruises are both balconies in the aft so looking forward to the sipping and waking!!!!😁
  2. Last month on Vger, we were next to the window with one other 2top and met a lovely couple, had so much fun with them at lunch and dinner. But if you don't want to talk you don't have to. If at a large table you almost feel obligated to interact. I don't like being put in that situation. It has led to some awful dining experiences. So we've been done with that for ages. One unusually sticky situation with an elderly couple whose hubs thought he was a sit down comedian...NOT. We could hardly converse nor eat for his loud interruptions! Fortunately, a couple at another multi table must've noticed how uncomfortable we were and one night asked us if we'd like to move to their table which had a vacancy. We did and have been cruise buds for several years!
  3. We booked the Ascent 10 day for Jan. '26 for our 30th anniversary. Include Tortola BVI too. We have a Sunset full balcony. The April cruise coming up on Ascent is also the same type cabin. If you don't like the Infinite bal. just book early and snag a regular.
  4. That's exactly why you go to the MDR first thing and make sure you like the location...they almost always accommodate.
  5. Trivia is not a contest to win prises but to test your mettle, intelligence and savvy and pass the time. But...I don't like cheaters, nor line jumpers, my pet peeves. What's the point of cheating, you've bested yourself. We encountered some college types on Allure who were looking up answers on the internet, so I felt compelled to address it outloud..."What you need help answering these?" She was highly embarrassed but I was highly satisfied. And line cutters are just plain rude. That type of behavior is not relegated to just RCI. We are on Icon in Sept. Celebrity Ascent in April and again 2025. There were things we liked about Carnival Jubilee but it just didn't fit us. I'll stick with RCL and an occasional Celebrity and be just fine. We love the bigger ships. To each his own.
  6. Same here except when we met up with a hacking coughing person at the stand up bar at back of the Theater one night, I caught what she was spewing all over everybody about 2 days later, thank goodness we had only Victoria left on our Alaska Solstice, but I came home sicker than a dog.
  7. I plan to get my pool on EARLY and outa there before that.
  8. Yeah only it has nothing to do with where it happens. They wouldn't let them defecate in the hotel lobby or in the mall promenade would they? That really is beyond the pale! Health hazards are not just bad behavior, but a public health issue.
  9. Then she can butt out of the condo, the board can vote on that.
  10. I have seen them kick folks off for those kinds of things! They can handle it. Did anybody follow what happened to the offenders OP...thought not, they may HAVE been penalized in some way.
  11. That doesn't apply to me, guess I'm a big kid at heart, I can't wait till our sailing! I have a feeling we'll be at Cloud 17 most days, I figure that's the least likely place they'll go. And they sleep late! HAHA, I'm up at the crack of dawn and will have our loungers Tout de suite!
  12. Sorry but I have to Rah Rah here. That is not the fault of Royal, it's the lack of manners and responsibility of parents today. I don't understand why they have to produce offspring when they really don't want to accept the responsibility that comes with them. If they're that selfish and self-centered, they have no business becoming parents. And that's what I told my two kids early on...they didn't listen of course and I'm glad now...love my Grand kids. Society today pretty much sucks in general in that area. Like they say..."It's all about me" and they are making sure their kids learn it well. Something we all have to deal with and move on. I had hoped Surfside would alleviate some of it, but they tried.
  13. Catastrophe! I can certainly see how you could be so disheartened, but this could happen in any ocean on any island or beach. Don't see how RCI could have been more accommodating. They obviously do a great job of beach cleaning, how else could anyone combat this ameba or whatever it is. It is in all the oceans and cousins are in any fresh body of water that gets warm on land as well. I don't get in either if I have any kind of lesion on my feet, it only takes a small pinpoint opening in the skin for these things to get in. I never get in a lake or any small body of fresh water if it gets hot. So sorry for the hell you've been through though, God bless you.
  14. Just looking at all your pics has me getting the booking itch and we just got back last month LOLOL
  15. OMG just opened the one we got on Voyager and by golly, it IS the old crystal block. They must've had a lot left over.
  16. Todd always has his notebook and plenty of movies on it. We only use the darn thing as white noise to get to sleep LOL
  17. We always book in September...ain't scared o'no hurricanes! Priced cheaper and kids back in school, what's to worry? We dealt with Ike back in the day, but the problem wasn't with the ship, but the airlines. We had to make changes in flights but we made it to Port Canaveral and the cruise was terrific.
  18. We got ours on Voyager last month. Don't like the new ones, it doesn't match my others. Hiss
  19. I'm not holding my breath for Royal Up either. Our sailing is getting pretty full.
  20. And today priced a Central Park cabin, (no Surfside left) for our Sept Icon and that room is $4400 per person! twice what we paid way back in Oct. 2022 Yikes! Thought to maybe upgrade from our interior...nada!
  21. They should have anticipated that and chosen the fabric cubbies, NO NOISE.
  22. I know first hand what can happen. On Legend way back in the day, Diamond lounge had used the same platter for shrimp as other canape's and a lady got really sick had to go to the clinic and the Chef and a bunch of people came up to the lounge whilst we were there to inspect everything. A really big deal. She was allergic to shell fish. She ate some of the other pieces not knowing shrimp had been on the platter, somehow that was enough.
  23. I wouldn't trust them to wash my clothes because of the heat and shrinkage...LOL...I bring enough.
