You're going to do a full write-up/review of this once you're back, right? Several curious minds want to know! 🙂 -

We had a similar experience. Three full days in Bergen in early September and it was very warm and sunny all three days. Not typical, I know, but it can happen!

We did this excursion on our 'In the Wake of the Vikings' cruise, and I would highly recommend. I know it's possible to book similar excursions with independent providers for less money, but in our case, at least, the van Viking used was only partially filled, we had a terrific guide who gave us in-depth commentary at all the stops, there was plenty of time to walk around and explore at each stop, and at the end, the driver gave us a quick unscheduled tour around the city itself.

Southwest Sale w/repricing options for existing tickets
aungrl replied to FlyerTalker's topic in Cruise Air
Thanks so much for posting this. I have family flying from LAS to SAV on Southwest for Christmas, 3 tickets, booked a couple of weeks ago for about $500/ticket. Logging onto Southwest and selecting the "change/cancel flight" tab, the discount comes up automatically, with all of the various options. Long story short, we weren't able to reprice the exact flights for less, but by moving the inbound travel by one day, we were able to cut the total cost almost in half. Really appreciate the alert on this! -

Silicone strips! Thank you - I couldn't think of that for the life of me. And thanks for the clarification on the nylon footies. I don't think I've ever seen those. Sorry I can't help!

There was another thread on this and I can't find it at the moment. Several people had different brands that they really liked. What I've found personally is that the brand doesn't matter as much, at least not for me, as long as there is a round dot in the heel that is a type of anti-slip material. I have several different brands, and as long as that dot is there, they stay up.

I love the way they look, and see them everywhere these days, including on cruises. That said, I can't wear them, either, because they don't offer any arch support, and I have high arches and have to have something that accommodates those. But super cute, practical, go with everything, and if they work for you, I'd definitely take them on your next cruise.

And we'd love a picture from the night you wear it if you don't mind coming back to post! -

Given all of this additional detail, I'm in the "take it, wear it, and rock it" camp. -

Another trip down memory lane. We walked all around, met a local man who welcomed us into his house so we could see the view back down to the water from his back porch, and saw some of these same buildings. And Prins Kristiansound is the prettiest spot I've seen so far. So glad your weather cooperated! -

Loved seeing these pictures! They bring back great memories of our stop on Qaqortoq a few years ago. This and the Shetland Islands were two of our favorites ports on that In the Wake of the Vikings crossing. Good luck with tonight's dinner service. -

No, but it's nice to fantasize about it...I remember when the quiet cars first came on line on the Acela between DC and NYC. Heaven! -

That's interesting that you mention the butter...I may be misremembering, but I believe @Clay Clayton did mention something along the same lines...seemed to him that perhaps the butter was a little less than in earlier versions. He'll correct me if I'm wrong. In any case, glad that you found them to be pretty good! -

How were the scones? There were reports from a few earlier sailings - I'm looking at you, @Clay Clayton 😉 - that they were different and not as amazing. Wondering if you found them to your taste/liking? -

Sorry about the error on the cake. It's so good that you spotted it in time! I hope you were able to enjoy some of it, because it looks fabulous. Really enjoying your updates and pictures so far. -
Excellent point. We do tend to go in a day ahead even when the ship is in port overnight, as a way to try to maximize the time we'll get on the ship in case something goes wrong. But that overnight in port does give a margin of safety that accomplishes the same thing.

I've flown into San Juan several times on the American flight, and have always had good luck with it - knock wood. Anything can happen, though, so I'd underscore @Jim Avery's comments about arriving at least one day early. And we liked the Bacardi tour, as well.
