  1. Playmakers wings, nachos, and onion rings were all really good. Mason Jar had great "hot chicken." Cajun catfish was a let down. The deep fried Oreo will have you coming back just for that.
  2. We do and I can see two excellent fish taco places from our balcony. Most do several different types of fish depending on the catch of the day. The one we like best even does octopus (pulpo).
  3. I might add, if you make a RSVP and then decide not to go please cancel it so it becomes available for other passengers. We were on the Wonder for Thanksgiving week and almost every show was sold out in my cruise calendar. A couple opened up a few hours before show time, I'm guessing from people canceling. I canceled ones we had that had shown sold out and just out of curiosity I went an hour later and the show was again sold out.
  4. I think with that many unless you had adjoining cabins with an OS it would be tight. The OS balcony is very large, but not that large.
  5. We had 15 in our group. We had an OS and my brother had a CLS. My OS was the only option for that many people. I don't recall the individual costs but total package with really good hot food and a nice bar set up cost us around $2000, which my brother and I split. As I recall we bought the middle price food package and same for the bar setup. They served us for about 3-4 hours and then left all the leftover food and can/bottles of beer and soda. They moved around some furniture to set up the buffet and bar. I'm not sure you could do this for 30 in an OS and no way I would do it in a CLS. Keep in mind this was probably eight years ago. There was no "sky" or "star" class back then. Maybe an OS with an adjoining cabin and open the divider would certainly work.
  6. We did a sail away party on our Oasis OS balcony for 15 a few years ago. I emailed the concierge a month or two in advance to setup food and a bar. He gave me the email for the catering manager who set it up. It was great everybody in our group loved it. This was before genies became a thing. As I recall they gave me a menu list at different levels of food and liquor types. It was all priced per person with a minimum number. I know we were under the minimum so had to pay for "phantom" family. It was just like picking menus for a wedding reception. Different tiers cost different amounts. We had two bartenders for 3-4 hours and a server came in periodically to make sure we had enough food, plates, glasses, etc.
  7. On the cruise planner book eight and four or six and six all for the same time. Then go in first thing and make sure they join them up. That's what we did on Wonder for 150 CP for Thanksgiving dinner. I had to flex the time by 30 minutes but they made it work.
  8. We just did an Uber on a day when no ships were cruising. We went from MCO to Coco Beach hotel it was $75 for an UberXL. I'm sure it would be much more on an embarkation day. There were just two of us with two full size suitcases.
  9. We have done Chef's Table three times and the first (Allure) was outstanding. The second (Oasis) food wasn't as good and presentation was lacking. The third (Allure) wasn't good at all, food was a step above Denny's. No more CT for us. The best CT ever was on a Carnival cruise when they held it in the galley.
  10. Hands down 150CP. We had Thanksgiving dinner there and it was so good we went back two nights later for dinner. It was hard to get in the second night but we went late so all was good. Book it on the app as soon as you can as premium times can sell out quickly.
  11. We were on for Thanksgiving week and they seemed to change from day to day for number of performances and start times or if they even had a particular show on that day.
  12. Since the Wonder's casino is huge that's a hint of where she was originally scheduled to cruise.
  13. Go to Costal Kitchen, setup dinner RSVP's, have lunch and cocktail. Then go to cabin, suit up, and head to the suite sun deck. BTW: we just did Wonder for Thanksgiving week and you will love her and the staff. Don't miss dinner at 150CP. We had Thanksgiving dinner there and it was so good we booked for two night later. I'm drawing a blank on our waiter's name it was something similar to Rochelle.
  14. If either itinerary works then the ships won't make a difference. I would go with Harmony and spend the money on a shore excursion. We just did Wonder for Thanksgiving and while it's nice it's not great enough to spend the extra money. We have done Allure (2) and Oasis, but never Harmony. I wouldn't go out of my way between any of the three we have been on if the itinerary works.
  15. Let me share something from personal experience about trying to book Alaska shore excursions on your own or a non-cruise operator. Our first trip my buddy and I decided to try and save a little money and wait to book a helicopter to the glacier on our own when we arrived in port. Since tours our limited and equipment is scarce that wasn't a good idea. The two operator's offices were closed with "sold out" signs on the door. We were the only ship in port. Fearing what our DW's would say we were talking about what to do. Luckily a shopkeeper overheard us and offered to try and find us a tour with somebody who doesn't do ship tours. We lucked out and came back to the shop around 3:00 PM, got picked up by a van, taken out to the airport, and had a great flight up to the glacier. For that we saved $80 pp, a nice savings but not sure it's worth the wrath of a DW had it not worked out.
  16. Juneau and helicopter as it lands on the glacier.
  17. Karl is fickle comes/goes when he feels like it. It can be 0-0 visibility and an hour later be clear. In May the percentages are with you for being pretty clear. Actually mid-May should be pretty good weather all around. Coming back once in September we had to sit off the coast for about four hours before the fog lifted and they let us dock.
  18. If all goes well that should be fine. My only concern would be if there are any other ships debarking the same day. SD airport isn't the best for TSA security. More than once we have seen long long lines trying to clear TSA. Depending on your flight terminal #2 seems to be better at clearing security than #1.
  19. Considering I just spent $42 per day for self park at the Hilton Bay Front.
  20. Between Vancouver hotels and shore excursions I'm sure we did too.
  21. If you are able drag your luggage across/up the street a little ways and request an Uber. We just did that after a play at the SD Civic Theater and that got us away from all the crowds standing directly in front of the venue waiting for their Ubers.
  22. If you do no other excursion do the helicopter to the glaciers. Yes it's expensive, but it rates as one of the top five things we have ever done on a vacation and we do a lot of vacations. When we have friends going I always offer "if you come back and tell me you didn't love it I will pay you back." So far haven't had to pay anybody.
  23. I use NordVPN at our condo in MX installed on a Night Hawk router and it drops my speed by at least 30% if not a little more. I did a speed test on the Wonder during our Thanksgiving cruise and it was terrible and I can't even imagine putting it through a VPN.
  24. Stupidest idea ever. Only the little kids enjoy mixing up different coke connections and then leaving them on the platform. I really feel sorry for the poor person permanently assigned to clean up the slop from the robots.
