  1. They checked ours but it was during Spring break out of Galveston.
  2. We haven't been in the last 18 months more like 30 months. There was a bar and my complaint was it didn't open early enough especially on port days (we seldom got off). Seems like on port days it didn't open until 3:00 PM. Not a big deal just walked down to the pool bar. Servers did walk around but it's not really necessary it's a short walk to the suite sun deck bar. We just returned from the Wonder staying in an OS. I much prefer the layout on Allure and Oasis. We spent every day on the Wonder suite sun deck and I can tell you it's not my fav for layout. It faces the back of the ship directly over the sports deck. Not a great view compared to Allure and Oasis. Plus, lots of noise from sports stuff and the music from sports deck competed with music on sun deck. We did love the "Suite Neighbor" concept. On Allure and Oasis the OS were some walk to sun deck and SL/CK. On Wonder we were steps from sun deck and one deck down to SL/CK. The hot tub/splash pool on Wonder was nice, but not a deal breaker. Water in both were hot and not refreshing. The sun deck would be a lot easier to secure from non-suite guests, but they didn't police it. The bar served everybody no matter and the doors from the hallway to sun deck were most left open. There's only inside access to suite sun deck via the cabin hallways. This could have been partly due to a lot of people who had been moved from the Harmony and downgraded from GS to JS still got suite amenities. Once that all washes out it might be different. Bottom line we much prefer the layout on Oasis and Allure sun decks to the "new" layout.
  3. For Thanksgiving week there were two "Caribbean" theme nights and two formal "dress your best" nights. There might have been more but those are the only two I recall.
  4. Agree with Cruiser Bruce on both counts. Using any other method would be convoluted, unreliable, and expensive. That being said, we have a driver we use in Baja that has taken friends across to San Diego airport. He is very reliable and does drive all the way up to LAX, so I'm sure he would be more than happy to take you from San Diego to San Pedro. He's on FB messenger also.
  5. We didn't have a Genie just a plain old Concierge on Wonder during Thanksgiving week. Except for Thanksgiving dinner I pre-booked at 150 CP we didn't book anything. Once on board almost every thing showed sold out. I never used the Concierge, but went to Jean the Ass't Manager for Suite Lounge, with a little give and take he was able to get the five of us reservations for dining plus same day Costal Kitchen seating for four. Surprisingly, seats open up for some of the shows the same day when they had shown sold out. Moral of the story be considerate and cancel you reservations if you're not going.
  6. My feeling exactly. Nice thing about being in a suite they give you an hour either way of your assigned boarding time to check in. We left our Coco Beach hotel at 10:30 and had cocktail in hand on the sun deck by 11:30.
  7. Perhaps, but didn't feel it necessary at that time.
  8. Yep, not a guarantee, and some depends on which airlines and gate you get assigned. San Diego has multiple different TSA check points going to different gates and they can be inconsistent at best.
  9. We sailed on the 20th on Wonder and had a 11:30 boarding time. We took an Uber but saw plenty of locals parking in the lot in front of the terminal and walking in. We never hit a bottleneck entering the port or after clearing the gate we just drove right up to the porters.
  10. I would wait until you can purchase on the www site. That way you can print out proof positive of the purchase. More often than not the order gets screwed up and I end up at Guest Services with my printout when something doesn't show up. It just happened last week on the Wonder when I ordered champagne and strawberries for our son and his GF's room that didn't show up.
  11. Try looking at https://www.cheapairportparking.org/ I always find the best deals there. You do prepay. Book soon as it looks like a lot are already sold out.
  12. Then you weren't paying attention. We were planning to sail so were paying attention to the news at the time. The uptick in cases was already starting and LA county was threating to put the mask mandate back in force, in July. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2022-07-21/l-a-county-mask-mandate-likely-a-week-away
  13. We were on Wonder last week. I can't recall a blender in the lounge but there is one on the Sun Deck. The SL bartender sent the porters to other parts of the ship more than once for alcohol and/or ingredients she didn't have. The Sun Deck bar is only up one deck from SL. I can't recall how late it's open but we were having a cocktail there and watching the aqua theater show around 10:00 PM one night when he made "last call." It was a great location in the evening as nobody seemed to be there after dark.
  14. Free drinks, no vouchers, in SL from 5-8pm if I recall correctly. Lots of DIA & PINS at the bar and lounge until the "witching hour" then they all clear out. We tried not to go in SL until 7:30 PM and eat after 8:00 PM after it got quite.
  15. Spot on, we were on Wonder last week and more than once I heard the SL bartender send somebody to get a mixer, alcohol, or ingredient from another part of the ship. It was a little funny to hear her try to explain to a porter what Angry Orchard was.
  16. We bought the plastic luggage tag holders on Amazon made to hold RCCL (and others) luggage tags. Much more secure than just stapling them as the directions show.
  17. Me either, I like to see the sunrise and not have to turn over and look at a clock or set an alarm. We just had a promenade view on Navigator and I wasn't a fan of it either. It was always light outside and I hate blackout curtains.
  18. They were threatening that in July also and it still hasn't happened. I guess once the elections were over all bets are off. Even in July it wasn't bad to wear on in the terminal. I saw about 30% wearing them while waiting to board. We did still have to show a negative test and the little ones had to test at the pier.
  19. We were at the Doubletree in July and it's a little worn around the edges, but for one night would be fine. The front desk staff was indifferent and the free shuttle was sold out by the time we arrived at 3:30 PM day prior to cruise. We ended up booking an Uber. Food and staff in the restaurant was great. Pay the money to upgrade to a Marina view room. We had a courtyard view and there was a wedding reception going on until after midnight, fun to watch all the drunk people, but not much for sleeping. We did the park and cruise, which was fine. But after seeing the cruise terminal parking lot I would park there. It was pretty much empty and steps from the ship.
  20. Agreed, I wouldn't do any public transit in SF with luggage. Uber is cheap, clean, safe, and efficient.
  21. Still double the speed we got on Wonder last week.
  22. Yes deck 12, we lucked out two days in July when they weren't RSVP only and free. We just walked up and snagged one two days in a row. Both on port side one right next to Lime & Coconut near suite sun deck area and the other toward the stern. Not sure of the cost, but they were nice.
  23. Not necessary if you have everybody's booking number you can do it on the www site.
