From the Uber website for LAX:
How to get a ride from LAX
Get on a shuttle and head to LAX-it
Take an LAX-it shuttle on the arrivals (lower) level curbside. They are expected to come every 5 minutes, and travel time to LAX-it is typically 15 minutes or less. You can also walk from Terminals 1, 2, 7, and 8.
Once in LAX-it
Find your Uber pickup point:
- UberX: either curbs 2, 3 or 4
- Comfort, UberXL, Select and POOL: back portion of curb 2
Note: Uber Black and Uber Black SUV will continue to pick up at the terminal on the outer island curb.
How pickups work for riders
UberX pickups between 8am and midnight will use the new PIN system:
- Request an UberX trip to receive a 6-digit personal identification number (PIN).
- Once in LAX-it, walk to the UberX PIN pickup zone on either curbs 2, 3 or 4, and join the line.
- Share your unique PIN with the first available driver.
- Verify vehicle and driver details before you get into the vehicle.
Pickups for other ways to ride with Uber, or for UberX from midnight to 8am, may be requested normally.
Curbside pickups
If you prefer a more convenient curbside pickup, simply request an Uber Black or Uber Black SUV trip. Then head to your selected pickup point on the outer island curb on the downstairs arrivals level for your pickup.

@retiring soon Thanks! It's a meal with 180 calories, 20g net carbs and 10g of protein. So, 900-1080 calories per day. It stinks to eat the same thing for 15 meals but I can do it!

This maybe a "dumb" question or beside the point...
Why bother using a TA if you're going to do any of the work yourself? If I have to monitor sales, upgrades, etc. I sure as heck am not going to let someone earn commission on my booking.

You can also contact the cruise line in advance. I think most folks say they still head straight for the Maitre D' upon boarding to ensure their needs are met.

Below are a few examples of cancellation policies. If you book a non-refundable deposit, don't expect to get it back regardless of when you cancel.
For Princess:
Since a cancellation likely means a diminished opportunity to sell space on other cruises/cruisetours, the cancellation fees in the schedules below apply regardless of whether Your space is resold. You hereby agree that losses sustained by us in the event of Your cancellation would be very difficult or impossible to quantify, and that the fees set forth in our cancellation policy represent a fair and reasonable assessment as liquidated damages. The amount of cancellation fee varies based on length of sailing for cruise/cruisetour and timing of cancellation for cruise/cruisetour and Cruise Plus package, as illustrated in the schedules below.
Sailings 5 days or lessDays prior to Cruise or Land Package Departure Item(s) Assessed Cancellation Fee 75 days or more None None 45 to 74 days Cruise fare Deposit^ Amount 29 to 44 days All Items 50% of Total Charges 15 to 28 days All Items 75% of Total Charges within 14 days All Items 100% of Total Charges Sailings 6 to 24 days (including World Cruise Segments)Days prior to Cruise or Land Package Departure Item(s)* Assessed Cancellation Fee 90 days or more None None 57 to 89 days Cruise fare Deposit^ Amount 29 to 56 days All Items 50% of Total Charges 28-15 days All Items 75% of Total Charges 14 days or less All Items 100% of Total Charges *Items: Cruise, Cruisetour, Cruise Plus Package, pre-purchased gift(s)/special services.

HEY @Belle Thank you for starting the weeks post and welcome back 🙂. I am up 4.2 😞 Below are my net calories (calories eaten/consumed - calories burned at the gym). I am perplexed as each day l am well under 2k and I worked out hard the 7th, 8th and 10th. This may be TMI but if my Birth Control allowed for a "week" tomorrow would be Day 1. I can only think it's possibly hormonal. I bought calipers and did a three site (suprailiac, tricep, thigh) reading on Sunday. For may age I am on the line of ideal/normal. I'd like to be solidly in the ideal.
12/5 608
12/6 1388
12/7 635
12/8 1329
12/9 1449
12/10 1464
12/11 1612
Starting tomorrow (Friday the 13th - YIKES) I am doing a very restrictive "RESTART". I will be eating the exact same controlled meal 5-6 times per day. First meal around 11am and then every two hours thereafter. This will last through Sunday the 15th.

OK I'll bite. Name a couple such. I've done over 50 cruise excursions and never come close to one such"
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Zip lines, those self piloted motor boat tours, jet skis, ropes courses....they all have risk. Then there are less adventurous such as, van tours (car accident) or hiking (falling down) nothing is without risk. An earthquake could happen as I sit at my desk. Probability is very small. As I said earlier, each INDIVIDUAL must weigh risk v. reward.
People have been trying to predict mother nature forever. She keeps us on our toes and when it comes to "acts of nature" there are no guarantees. It's "the experts" best educated guesses.

I just went back and looked at the spreadsheets for the last three trips. I prepay almost everything (DSC, excursions, booze packages). Therefore, as for expenses "on board a cruise" cash tips, room service (when not included) and gift shop (for nephews) are it.
-
Got into personalizer and am still in for over 5 minutes using Edge.

Just got to the site and into my personalizer...using Chrome. And within 30 secs of clicking around...back to Technical Difficulties....

I absolutely think about the inherent risks in everything I do. However, it's about weighing the risk/reward and making a decision.

@marafun Did you voice your displeasure while onboard? It's often difficult to get resolution after you have disembarked.

Hey y'all sorry I've been MIA. I'm down a smidge (.4). I've been super busy since Thanksgiving. My nephew's Birthday was the third, I've had two get togethers and the rest of the month looks worse. I also overdid my workout on Tuesday and my back is very sore. I LOVE the holidays but boy it can get tiring. To give you all insight to my training below are a couple of recent workouts.
Tuesday
5 sets of 1 push press/2 push jerks (55, 60, 65, 70 and 75lbs)
10 minutes - 15 jerks (65lbs) followed by power step ups 15 each leg. I got through 2 full rounds +7 jerks.
2 rounds of 15 hurdle jumps, 10 air squats and 10 kettlebell swings.
Burned 528 calories
Saturday
2 Rounds:
24 Deadlifts
24 Box Jumps
24 Dumbbell Push Press
24 Bench Press24 Box Jumps
24 Push Press
24 Power CleansBurned 364 Calories

@capriccio So, both the Chef's Table and Winemaker's Dinner require guests to sign up once onboard? There is no way to reserve in advance? Also, I grew up in Harrisonburg 🙂
-
@Bubbs33 Do you have a source or link? I couldn't find anything on their website or the Carnival Corporation site...

There was a video recently of a man doing the Flowrider and falling off and getting "stuck". It went viral. Maybe that had something to do with the policy change.
