NCL Prima - Iceland with no hot tubs
CptBoatface replied to Sailing12Away's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Magic marker could work for the positive result if you need a picture of the test for work. Though I wouldn't officially know about that method nor would I EVER recommend doing so😉 -
Norwegian Gem and disembarkation Istanbul, Turkey

Constantinople. -
Getting ready to disembark Prima. All of the main noted criticisms are valid, at full capacity in cold weather was way too crammed. We prefer getaway+. Aesthetics and cabin size for balcony in gen pop are great. Walking through buffet to get around on 17 is a hot mess. Overall good experience but will avoid this class in cold weather and until tweaks are made

Got one in a regular balcony after asking steward. Coffee pods have been a blessing compared to dining room coffee

The balcony is pretty good too. Seems better laid out than the suite. Shower is hot and good pressure. Don't seem to be able to figure out temp control or perhaps AI knows we should be warmer than we prefer. -

Yesterday's response took awhile to post so deleted. Hoping the shore quest is successful and we will see you when we get off at about 9:10 or so -

Sounds good! We get on early about 11:30-12. Hoping I've gotten the time change sorted out with an epic nap last night. -

What in the heck! Not good at all. Very irritated to hear. -
This 100%. Lived many years where my visiting family (all high paid professionals) meant spending 2 months worth of all my disposable income. Not something they understood. Nor were they willing to visit. Even modest distributions would have helped greatly and allowed me to keep my pride by not asking for help. Which I wouldn't have done unless I was hungry.

Merino wool is your friend if you are ok with doing a bit of self laundry. You can get at least 3 days of wear before needing a rinse. Some folks can go longer, but 3 is my limit. Good for both cool and hot weather

Alaska Outerwear - Late August/Early September
CptBoatface replied to Carolinabanker's topic in Alaska
Raincoat #1. Probably get by with a down puffy layer underneath for glaciers. Warm Hat#2. gloves, waterproof boots. Recommend merino wool base layers and socks. Alaska summer weather is like our mid-late spring down in Olympia. Could be 70s could be low 50's. But again, the merino wool -

Haircuts for Men on a Round the World Cruise?

Plan to bring my trimmers, but I like the bald look -
Nuku Hiva was very good for the taivapai valley. Moorea motu picnic excellent and the Raiatea big canoe expedition top notch!

Serve. I get it and after working in social services for 20 years could maybe make that call. Yup worked in public service. But my time in uniform was without limit as to hours worked, what I could eat, where I would go and what I would do. Didn't go home to my own bed, eat with my family and was on the hook for deployment anywhere. And I couldn't just quit, like I could from chasing deadbeat parents who cared nothing for their children. Oddly, that job took More from my soul than military service. And being a good citizen who pays taxes and supports society IS important. But it never left me with the face of a young soldier who got hit, or the sergeant who took the easy way out from his pain. Or my team sergeant crippled from a training accident. Or families broken from the strain. Or this loud ringing in the ears that never stops and a back aged too early. I'm ok with no OBC or recognition, but don't diminish what others do without knowing the path they walk.

You may find the higher salt content will allow him to float. I normally sink like a rock but had no prob in FP inside reef areas
