While not a Hallmark Christmas movie, I recently watched "Last Christmas" on Amazon Prime and found it pleasantly enjoyable. It does start off as a typical rom-com but there is some Christmas magic towards the end that elevates it into Christmas movie status. Plus, I really like Emilia Clarke - aka Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones - so it was interesting to see her in this role. Also, lots of George Micheal & Wham songs in the movie since it's supposedly based on the song "Last Christmas"

Agreed with both and probably why I stopped watching around season 25 or so. What happen to the days when the reward for a challenge was a can of beans? Although I guess that would get boring after awhile & they need something to keep people watching. So let's get some good looking people with big personalities & let the conflicts begin! And I'm sure if I watch an episode or two again, I could easily get sucked back in. But the name of the show should be hanged to "Ultimate Backstabber" or "The Great Deceiver".

I found it. "The Circle of Nope", That's hilarious! I can't wait until the first snow which unfortunately wont be for awhile. For the next 10 days, it's either going to be cold & dry or warm & rainy, which is a typical of El Nino weather patterns in New York. But I'm guessing when we do finally get some snow, Leonard won't even go far enough outside to even make a circle. Probably more like the 2 tiny paw prints pictures.

It's not uncommon for movies & shows to NOT be filmed on location and often times will subsitute one locale for another. For example, 8 of the 10 episodes of Peacocks "Poker Face" was filmed in the Hudson Valley just north of NYC, substituting for locations in Texas, Colorado & NJ. There is a brewery in Orange County, NY that was transformed into a BBQ in Texas and I'm 99.9% certain I recognized the Hudson River in scenes there were supposed to be Atlantic City, NJ. Oh sure, they throw in a couple seconds of "stock" exterior footage of the Atlantic City skyline or Rocky Mountains (for the "Colorado" episode) but everything else was filmed here in NY. "Denver Hospital" is actually Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie NY which I've been to as well as the IBM Office complex in Westchester, County, NY. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is set in Chicago although nothing was actually filmed there. It was all done on Hollywood studio back lots and Breckenridge, CO for the wintry mountain scenes. Only a few seconds of stock exterior footage of the Chicago skyline was used. Canada is a popular filming location, lots of financial incentives makes it cost effective.

Leonard will also nap under the tree, especially at night. I seemed to have misplaced the tree skirt for this tree (I have 2 set-up) so maybe he was expressing his displeasure that the tree was "not finished" by knocking an ornament off the tree He was for the first couple days. Kept trying to take the garland off the tree & eat it. He hasn't done it in awhile and I'd like to think the stern "NO!" I gave him is the reason. But more likely it was the upset stomach & barfing it up that caused him to lose interest.

Crazy rain & wind here last night & early morning. Finally calmed down the past hour. Fortunately never lost power & just a few small branches down & a very soggy yard. Calm skies should be coming your way in a few hours. Along with colder air. Temps already dropping from a 61 F high this morning to low 30s by tomorrow morning

After spending an extremely nostalgic weekend with old college friends - the same group of friends that I reconnected with & spent a long weekend at a lake side cabin in the Adirondacks this past summer - I'm of the mind set that new memories and experiences are far more important than "more things". I also help one of my old college buddies clean out his childhood home after his aging parents moved & downsized. Lots of "things" ended up on the curbside with a "Free" sign on them or in the dumpster. I'd go with the cruise. And maybe not "just another Caribbean cruise" but something with a unique itinerary. Or upgrade to highest class suite on the ship. Or a European cruise with a European side trip added in. Or Australia. Yes, the lights are awesome but after a week, how much time are you going to spend outside looking at them? Other than a handful of holidays, how much use are they going to get Jan - Sept? Just my humble opinion.

Well, it's good to know for Royal fans that may consider cruising Princess out of Galveston for the first time.

Since Aruba & cruising often vie for my #1 favorite vacation destination, I've spent many vacations on the island and can attest that all of the above are excellent, solid choices. A few of my own: Dinner on the beach, little less romantic than Bucti https://barefootaruba.com/ Dinner in Bed. Food is excellent, on par with Madam Janette. Note: I've never had dinner in bed there & the few people that said that while it's unique, it's not as comfortable as it sounds. https://screamingeaglearuba.com/ EDIT: Dinner in bed might not be an option anymore. Nothing about it is mentioned on the website & any pics I google are from pre-pandemic times. If you want to get a little Krazy & not act your age with a bunch of other that are not acting their age. Depending on timing, you may get a champagne toast @ the California lighthouse at sunset. https://www.kukookunuku.com/ Plenty of catamaran excursions but I find Red Sail Sports is consistently good. http://www.aruba-redsail.com/ Can't wait to see what you end up doing, even if it's just here enjoying the scorpion shot or eggnog martini. π https://lucyssurf.com/location/aruba/

When visiting Hilton Head last year, I flew into Savannah & took Uber back & forth to the airport. Both drivers hate that section of I-95 where it crosses over into SC so much that one of them wasn't even going to take my ride request at first but it was a slow day. Ended up taking some interesting back roads thru the Low Country to avoid I-95 as much as possible. Anyways, they did tell me there are plans to widen the highway but it's still in the planning stages and will take years to complete.
