Yep, Gilligan's Island, The Brady Bunch, The Muensters, I Dream of Jeannie, Star Trek (the original) were all after school shows I'd watch, when not playing outside. Probably are few more that I can't remember off the top of my head. And even though I watched each episode of Gilligan's Island multiple times - including the rare Black & White ones - if I watch it now, I just shake my head & wonder why?? 😊 Agree 100% with Modern Family, especially in the early years. Another underrated show was The Middle, which came on right afterwards. While it was overshadowed by Modern Family in the beginning, it actually got better with age and dare I say, was better than MF in the latter years. Plus, there were certain situations and characters I could relate to from my childhood.

Unlike Jade, Leonard is not a lap cat. The word "snuggle" is not in his vocabulary. Which is why moments like this are rare & precious. The closest to a snuggle I'll ever get. He'd rather spend his time squatting and looking out the window at the squirrels and chipmunks roaming in the front yard. For an indoor cat, why he thinks he's the great predator is beyond me. 😀

@JOHN 57 Perhaps I missed it, but did you try the kummelwick sandwich? If so, thoughts?

Not nearly as news-worthy but still somewhat significant, last night Gerrit Cole also tied the record for the most strikeouts in a single season by a Yankee pitcher. Also has the most strikeouts of any pitcher this season at 248. While that is impressive, considering the many great Yankee pitchers over the years, it's also surprisingly not as many as I would have thought as Cole lead the league in strikeouts with 326 as recently as 2019. The overall modern record was set in 1973 - 383 - by "The Ryan Express" (Nolan Ryan)

Words just can't describe the amount of damage. Bridges to some of the barrier islands wiped out. Shoulder high flood waters in the streets. The Cajun Navy is at work rescuing people trapped in cars, on their roofs, etc. Some really heart-warming stories out there amid the devastation. I'm surprised Orlando doesn't flood more often, since it's essentially built on top of a swamp. I have several friends that live up the road in Venice Beach. Trying to find out of they are okay as well. One thing I haven't heard much about is causalities. The NY Post is known for their sensationalist, tabloid journalism but they are already reporting hundreds. https://nypost.com/2022/09/29/hundreds-confirmed-dead-from-hurricane-ian-sheriff/ It might be many days before we know the true number.

I had low expectations for Better Call Saul as spin-offs usually disappoint. But I really liked the character & the actor so I gave it a shot. Took me a awhile to warm up to it as it can be a bit slow-moving at times but by season 2, I was hooked as well. Love that we get to see a few other of our favorite Breaking Bad characters in their pre-Breaking Bad lives. Very interesting to see Jimmy McGills slow transformation into Saul Goodman (It'sss Allll Good Man).

@John&LaLa Is this true? A Month of Monopoly over a Meme? I can understand if it was b/c you were in midst of a late night pro-mask vs anti-mask debate or if someone insulted your favorite ship or "Are all Pinnacle's bad?" argument. Not sure a joke is worth the time out. JMHO and YMMV, etc, etc. P.S. Glad your back & looking forward to the first @John&LaLa vs @Jimbo tussle. (j/k 🤣)

I've been recording the games as well & then fast forwarding them to watch Judge's at-bats. I almost didn't record last night as I got home late. Glad I did. #62 will be the big one. Hope he does it at the Stadium this weekend too. I wish I could go but have other plans for this weekend. It was electric last week when I attended 2 games as he was trying to tie Maris record. Every time Judge had an at-bat, the crowd would get deafening loud & then totally silent just as the pitcher was about throw. Surreal.

About 2 or 3 years ago, my wife took her 2015 Lexus RX350 (sister car to the Toyota Highlander) to the dealer for routine maintenance. Well unbeknownst to me, in addition to the manufactures maintenance schedule, the dealer had their own schedule that included a few dubious items such as deodorizing the air vents for an additional charge. I didn't find out until after the fact. I remember cleaning the sunroof drains was one of the items that I felt was a scam. Good to know that it wasn't. So, while I'm sorry for your unfortunate mess, I'm glad to know that it's a real thing & not a scam.

Quantum & Ovation Plus - 30 Day Live (hopefully)

I don't often do it myself but if time permits, train travel is the way to go. Don't have the hassle of flying & getting to and from the airport, much more comfortable & relaxing than a bus. The only downside - other than not having the freedom of a car - is that sometimes the train schedules are less than ideal, especially long distance. If only more people would take a train, there would be more trains. -

I feel the same way. I lack the patience & dexterity to do CC by phone. I'll read posts & hit the "Like/Laugh/Thanks" button from the phone but writing any long posts - long being anything more than 2 sentences - I'd rather do from my laptop. You can always tell when I write a long post from my phone. Lots of spelling and grammar errors that I lack the patience to go back & correct. Love the pictures from the train. -
Frank certainly seems like a stand-up guy and is a hero as far as I'm concerned. I did not mean to disparage him in any way & hopefully my post did not come across as such. My apologies if it did. I only meant to infer that sometimes nostalgic stories seem to grow in size as time goes on. We all do it. I have no issue with you sharing stories he's told you. 🙂

I've been to Mystic several times, usually as part of a long weekend at Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun casino's when a break from gambling is needed. Been to the Seaport - and the Charles W Morgan - so I don't find any of those pictures boring. In fact, it brings back pleasant memories. Also been to the infamous Mystic Pizza. the center point of a movie starring a young and unknown actress named Julia Roberts. Pictures from the movies adorn the walls. The pizza isn't bad either. When we've been unable to get a room at the casino's, we'd often stay at a hotel near Groton, CT and visit the submarine base there, where the USS Nautilus - the worlds first nuclear submarine - is now a museum. Takes a special kind of person to be a submariner.
