  1. Me too. I record everything. And with a DVR that can record 6 shows at the same time, I record too much. There are movies I recorded over a year ago still sitting on my DVR that I have yet to watch.
  2. You're right, it's odd that the captain would engage in reality show tomfoolery. Maybe he's taking a time out from having his picture taken with guests? Not that I doubted you but I had to look up why. Here's what I found, pretty interesting article. Apparently, more interesting than the show. https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/the-real-love-boat-rebecca-romijn-jerry-oconnor-ted-lange-jill-whelan-1235394123/ The bartender & cruise director are real too. And the CD met his future wife on a cruise ship. I guess Princess Cruise Lines really is The Love Boat.
  3. Dallas & Dukes were on CBS. Love Boat & Fantasy Island were ABC. I also think they were on different nights because I watched all 4 shows & I'm pretty sure we didn't have VCR at the time.
  4. Isn't the new Love Boat basically a *ahem* reality dating show? Basically nothing in common with the old show. It never occurred to watch it & I used to watch the old Love Boat show all the time. And Fantasy Island. Now that would make for a watchable dating show. Probabl would need to be on HBO.😄
  5. You are correct. The manager asked Ted if he wanted to sit to protect his .400 average. Technically, it was 3995 but they round up. Ted replied something to the affect of "I want more than my toenail on the line for 400". He went 6 for 8 in the double header & finished with a .406 average.
  6. I don't disagree with you. I think back then, players & managers had more integrity for the game. The old Joe Demaggio quote when asked why he always played so hard: "Because it might be some kid's first time seeing me play & they might never see it again". I can. Lol. I wonder what took them so long. 😉
  7. One more baseball post. Judge's 62nd HR ball worth two million dollars. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/34733763/auction-house-prepared-pay-2-million-aaron-judge-historic-hr-ball
  8. It was Buck Showwalters decision to sit McNeil in a meaningless game, to give him a 2 day rest, before the playoff grind starts. McNeil earned it. On July 30th, his batting average was .287 while Freeman was at .319. McNeil had to hit .378 for the rest of the season to get to the top. Would you level the same criticism @ Luis Arraez for denying Arron Judge a shot at the triple crown? Judge played 55 straight games while Arraez sat out 3 of the last 4 games, nursing a hamstring injury and protecting his lead. After he was assured of the batting title, he played and hit a double. Not bad for a guy with a hamstring injury.
  9. No doubt, the Mets had a great season & every Met fan should be proud no matter what happens the rest of the way. I credit Buck Showalter. Hopefully the Met's keep him around long enough to eventually win a World Series. His history is such that it's usually the year after he leaves that his team wins it all (1996 Yankees, 2001 Diamondbacks). Always the empire-builder but never the emperor. It's amazing that both teams had identical 101-61 records but the Braves had the tie breaker with 10-9 head-to-head competition. One game made all the difference, proof that the regular season matters and every game counts. I like that MLB finally instituted a tie-breaking rule rather than a one-game play-in, giving more significance to the regular season record. Gotta give credit to the Braves. They hung in all season and got hot when it counted. Now hopefully the players won't get rusty during the 6 days between games. Baseball players are creature of habits & like to play every day. Same goes for the Yankees, Astro's, Dodgers, etc.
  10. Ironically, I need to do the same to become a Sugar Daddy. Except substitute win the lottery in place of a boob lift.😁
  11. Wow. I sat on a beach in Aruba. I'm lame. But I did switch hotels halfway through. Rented a car & drove 10 minutes to the next hotel. 😊 You sure did pack in a lot. But it makes sense, as long as you are on that side of the pond, try to get as much in as possible. I'd actually like to do everything you did but maybe over 4-5 weeks.
  12. It usually takes me a few days to get into the "vacation frame of mind". So a one week vacation would really be like a long, 4 day weekend for me. So I just gradually started taking longer vacations 10 days, then 12, etc, even if the first few days were just at home preparing for the trip. Not sure how I managed to pull off 21 days but I remember at the beginning that it seemed like it would last forever, then the last 2 weeks flew by real quick.
  13. I thoroughly enjoyed your most recent live review so much that I went back to re-read it. You take fantastic pictures and the "right amount", unlike one of your competitors. 😉 As others said, a live review would be welcome but if you want to kick back, relax and stay in the moment, that is perfectly fine as well. Liberty is a sentimental favorite of mine as she was my first ever cruise, back when the ship was brand-spanking new and at the time, the largest in the world for a few months until Oasis came along. She was also my last, most recent cruise a few of years ago (pre-pandemic) and - to bring this full circle - also my 25th wedding anniversary cruise, which I think I read somewhere that you'll be celebrating. From what I've read, Liberty is beginning to show her age and some wear-and-tear. As you give a fair and balanced review - pointing out negatives along with the positives - I'd be interested to read your thoughts, especially coming so soon after Symphony.
  14. That is so awesome. I think the longest trip from home I've ever taken as an adult was 21 days & that didn't feel like it was long enough.
  15. I've heard on a few occasions that many sports writers consider hockey players - generally speaking - tend to be some of the most down-to-earth, easy going, friendliest of all the major sports athletes. Maybe it's because they don't get the same level of attention that NBA or NFL players get (at least in the US of A) or that many hail from small towns. Not sure why.
  16. I remember you posting a while back that you were going to attend one of the games this week. Sorry you weren't able to be their in person & hope the medical issue isn't serious. Maybe Judge can hit a few more now that the pressure is off.
  17. My nephew bought me tickets for NY Rangers opening night next Tuesday. Hoping they can finish what they started last year and not come crashing back to earth. Opening against Tampa should be a nice start. 🙂
  18. I know it ain't over until it's over....but it's almost over. Gotta give credit to the Braves for hanging around & getting hot at the right time.
  19. It was fun having at least one competitive pennant race as all the other division leaders were running away with it. Although the Yankees did their best to throw away their double-digit lead, it never got real tight.
  20. Thank you! It almost always is a good distraction. Sometimes, too good! If you know what I mean. *** glances at the pile of unwashed laundry *** Eh, tomorrow is another day. 🙂
  21. Thank you Lenny. It's been 15 years since Sister's husband passed and 13 years for my mother. Sometimes, it feels just like yesterday. I think this gloomy weather the past few days has put me in a gloomy mood. Heading off to re-read @Sea Dog and @bobmacliberty reviews & of course to follow @singinalot upcoming review to put me in a more sunny disposition. 🙂
  22. Maybe the brother that owns the empty lot will keep it empty so that his brother - the one building the house - can have an "extra" yard. Might make for a nice, cozy beer garden, complete with fire pit, lawn games etc. Just a thought you may want to plant in their heads. 😇
