  1. I can only comment on Tallinn. We had Rick Steves' Scandanavia book and just followed his walking tour. It is very specific with instructions like take 10 steps and then turn left.
  2. "No one falls off a cruise ship unless doing something stupid" or someone else causing it, for instance the grandfather who dropped a baby out the window. If someone does something stupid after getting really, really drunk, could the same theory as used in the McDonald's case be used as to the number of drinks one is allowed to consume after buying in the drink packages pushed by Carnival and other cruise lines?
  3. Yup, still here. But it is a holiday weekend, so maybe things are just delayed.
  4. OK, I thought I recognized your screen name, but was not sure. Let us hope the situation with Isafjordur is fixed at least by the time of our cruise. 👌
  5. OK, you got me. 🤦‍♂️ Would living creature overboard cover everything?
  6. I was not specifically referring to a muster drill when I mentioned the Titan submersible disaster. What I was referring to was in general cutting corners and disregarding safety measures. When one does that, a disaster should not be a big surprise.
  7. And then see if he or she has read the thread of how to survive. 🤣
  8. You're welcome. We will see if the mods do anything.
  9. OK, maybe we'll meet. Are you on the roll call? We joined way back in 2021.
  10. I shall. The same to you. I hope this thread and the need to criticize it does not ruin your day.
  11. Yes, safety should count. Anyone thinking otherwise should consider the corners cut in the recent submersible disaster because they felt no need to be certified. They felt that safety standards got in the way of innovation.
  12. I've had the $100 offer (in fact I booked our present cruise with a $500 deposit even though only $250 was required for the cruise) on my everyday blue card.
  13. The backlash seems to be coming only from you. Do you see the three dots in the upper right corner next to the post number? You can report the post if you wish. Make your point to the mods and see if they either move it or delete the thread. But that is their call, not yours.
  14. My DW always needs dumb tv to fall asleep at night. I wonder if just keeping it on that would work. 🤣
  15. And if DW is the rest of my party, and she only has a flip phone that she rarely uses?
  16. That is way "overboard" (pun intended). About the only thing that should happen concerning private excursions is passengers who have already booked something together meeting to determine where they will meet to get together to meet their excursion guide.
  17. No one forced you to read it, or to post any response. Also, that is up to the mods to determine if it should be moved to a different forum.
  18. Yes, there is no requirement you read every thread. If it is not of interest to you, or you think it is a stupid topic, just scroll on by.
  19. You definitely have to be careful. Another thing you can lose is a reduced deposit. And if the new offer does not have the reduced deposit, you can lose the entire cruise if you do not pay the new deposit. I do remember once finding a reduced fare, but our TA warned that without paying the now extra on the deposit, they would cancel the cruise reservation. Since it was worth it (and the extra deposit would have had to be paid eventually anyway as part of the fare), I added the extra funds to the deposit.
  20. It depends on whether the booking stays on the same offer. If so, you will not lose anything that comes with that offer. If it comes as part of a different offer, then anything unique to the offer you had booked on will be lost.
  21. That sounds right. They put on a pending charge in case you charge something the last day. It generally drops off in a day or two or maybe three at most.
  22. And they even call the assistant cruise directors "The Fun Squad".
