  1. Well, now the OP's questions have all been answered.
  2. Good to know. And each of your airfares was half price, correct?
  3. 1. I know I have bought travel insurance through my TA and it was the exact same price as I found online. 2. The one time we had to make a small claim, our TA did assist us. 3. What is the bid deal that a TA has reserved cabins and sells them at a group rate? I know our TA has done that and it has got us a better price and have had no idea who else is in "the group".
  4. The first person is the one under whose name the booking was made. The other person becomes the second person. And it's really half price each instead of one free, but as a caveat, I do not specifically know what they do, or even if they do it, in the situation you have outlined of flying from different airports.
  5. Not the person you asked, but because there always seem to be a few who constantly attack TAs.
  6. Thank you, not only for this answer to my specific question, but also for all you contribute to this specific forum.
  7. We are not going to let all this negativity ruin our Prima cruise in August. Will there be things way less than perfect? Of course there will, and there were on our previous NCL cruises. That does not mean we did not overall enjoy them. That said if they use some lame excuse not to let passengers off in Isadjorfur, I will be pissed. Our tour provider has said there will be a refund (less 5% for her handling) if he ship does not port), but still I will be pissed as it is a tour I found, and both of us think it sounds really, really interesting.
  8. There were some very positive reviews of the Prima from @sid_9169 and @Greenpea2.
  9. Did you use that floating gangway in Geiranger or did you tender? NCL still has it listed as a tender port.
  10. Agree, except for the comment about the dock work, There was an easy workaround, tender passengers. Other ships did that,
  11. That only means it can be done, not that NCL will be willing to do it. I do imagine they are getting more and more complaints.
  12. As I wrote in answer to you in the NCL forum, they do not seem to want to tender. And we too have a private tour booked there. In addition to what I wrote in the other forum, I e-mailed our tour operator and she had no information as to when the work might be finished as to make it a non-tender port for larger ships or what the Prima was doing.
  13. Yes, and we were on 3 Princess ships, and those are 2 of them. And the other was the Ocean Princess, which is also no longer in the Princess fleet. 🤦‍♂️
  14. Agree 100%. We are in the same situation except our cruise is not until August. It sounds more and more like NCL is taking the position that they have Isafjordur listed as dock (only Geiranger is listed as tender), and if they have to tender to get passengers there, they will not do it.
  15. And when something happens like Covid to cancel your cruise, you do not need to get a refund from more than the cruise line. In fact, as you wrote if the airfare is not yet paid, obviously there is not even a need for that to be a refund to chase. (Going by our experience with a cruise cancelled with Princess and Princess EZ Air in 2020.)
  16. But do those Good Samaritan laws provide legal protection for crew members who do not have medical training and know that there are crew members who do have that training? I know I officiated high school sports for several years, and we were taught in case of an injury to a player we were to call the coaches who all had to have first aid training for their certification to coach, and to get away from the injured student/athlete. We also for legal liability reasons had to fill in a form with details like date, field conditions, etc. to have a contemporaneous report in case there was a lawsuit years later.
  17. Then don't sell a tender port and label it as a port where you dock!
  18. Or, the old Catsckill's joke, " The food was ter rbile, and they would not give you seconds.".
  19. As for the excuse that the ship does not have tender boats, doesn't the port have tender boats? We are on this cruise in August and hope either the port finishes the construction or NCL gets tired of these complaints and allows tendering, We have what we hope is a fine private tour booked in Isafjordur.
  20. On our second cruise, I had photo id with me, my driver's license, but I must have dropped it somewhere and lost it in Key West. Although it was required, they did let me back on the ship. As a footnote, after paying for a new license, I received the lost one in the mail. Someone must have found it and with the address on it mailed it to me.
