  1. A room steward makes you feel that you are the most important person in the world!
  2. OP reporting back. The 4 missing days seem to have returned, at least on the library computer using a different platform. So, either it was a weekend glitch, a problem with microsoft edge, or maybe a bad cookie. I'll have to check at home the next time I log in. If they are still not there, I may have to log out and then back in if it is a bad cookie.
  3. How do you think they got that reputation? It seems the logical answer is that up until now they did allow it.
  4. It was not recent (2007), but I can confirm that the Rick Steves' walking tour is very easy. And IIRC, very precise (like take 2 steps and then turn left). We actually walked with the book in our hands.
  5. They have routinely renewed it for years. There is no reason not to as it is a marketing tool that costs them practically nothing. When the cruise lines were first negatively affected by Covid, many on these board speculated that they would do away with the shareholder OBC or maybe double the amount of shares needed to qualify. Others, like me, argued that that would not happen as there would be no reason to get rid of this marketing tool. As we have seen, even in the worst of times they still routinely renewed it. There is no reason to believe that it will ever disappear.
  6. I hope that the BBC documentaries being back is the worst thing you report. (Though as I believe I once posted, my DW liked them when we were on the Maasdam.) So when are @Hlitner and @cruisemom42 going to meet in the non-virtual world?
  7. I believe I posted earlier that I do intend to call, but had the feeling that on a weekend I was less likely to get someone who knew something.
  8. since you signed Hank Hank I assume you are seeing double. I guess you really hit those cocktails. 🤣 Enjoy the cruise which will soon be starting and keep reporting back. 😊
  9. OK, but why has everything now disappeared? Both next 5 and previous 5 skip all 4 ports. That is TOTALLY SKIP including booking shows and dining as well as excursions!
  10. Thank you. There seems to be some who believe that only they should get decent customer service because of their loyalty level. As for the rest of us, I guess they think we deserve to be treated like rubbish.
  11. Hopefully, the cruises will make up for all the aggravation they put you through. But that does not excuse them for their poor customer service.
  12. Hank, is this an entire cruise or is at segments of a world cruise? What are some of the ports you and your Mrs. are especially looking forward to?
  13. Prima 8/6 London (Southampton) to Reykjavik
  14. I think changing the ports is a remote possibility. After all there are 4 ports, and they do have to get from Bergen to Reykjavik.
  15. I did consider calling NCL, but I had a feeling that a weekend was not the best time to get someone who knew what was going on.
  16. That is not good. An excellent naturalist really adds much to an Alaskan cruise. We had one on a Princess Alaska cruise who really added an incredible amount to our experience.
  17. And that is just from this board. It is also on the Ask a Cruise Question Board, the boards for other Carnival Corporation lines, Norwegian Cruise line, and I am assuming also since I do not read them the boards for lines owned by Royal Caribbean.
  18. How hard did you laugh when you were cautioned about NCL no longer controlling the booking? 🤣
  19. I was looking to see what things were there and then to look for private tours as the NCL tours I previously saw were very expensive. (For instance in Reykjavik which is still there with tours, my DW said she wants us to go to the Blue Lagoon, and we can find it much less expensive privately. No worries about getting back after the ship leaves as it is an overnight.) I thought of the same possibilities of sold out or tour companies no longer being approved, but it is 4 ports over 2 countries. If it was only 1 or even 2 in the same country, maybe these would be possibilities, but it seemed odd for 4 ports in 2 countries.
  20. On a laptop, I tried clicking on the ports on the left, and nothing happened.
  21. With 3 different answers, one of them had to be right. It is the same principle as throwing everything against the wall and something will stick. 🤣
  22. I was looking at the NCL excursions for our upcoming summer cruise mainly for ideas as they seem to be excessively expensive, but found 4 ports that previously had excursions listed can no longer be accessed. Go to the next 5 and go back to the previous 5 both skip the ports between Bergen and Reykjavik, The ports are Alesund (Norway), Geiranger (Norway), Akureyri (Iceland), and Isafjordur (Iceland). All 4 previously showed a few excursions when clicking on something else to do for the day. Could they all be sold out already over 4 months in advance and before final payment is due? Could they have been pulled because there are no longer vetted local tour operators to be used by NCL?
  23. Probably true, but we are all in a forum discussing cruises.
