  1. So, if a person is swimming, they will remove their stuff? 😒
  2. Wow. I know our TA books groups, but we have never met anyone else from the group. I should amend that to say we never met anyone else who we knew was in the group as it is possible we met some and just did not know that they were booked with the same TA. I do hope that was an interesting table full of folks.
  3. For our cruise last summer with which we did NCL's BOGO, they kept sending me urgent airline e-mails. And every time I expected them to be changes, and every time they were the exact same. Since it seems they also sent the same e-mails to our TA, he also then forwarded them, but by the time I got those, I knew there were no changes.
  4. And if it incentivizes even a very few to sail on one of their ships, it more than pays off the little it costs them.
  5. Yes, I remember a college professor in a seminar I took saying the 2 worst laws ever are speeding and alternate side of the street parking. And the reason they are the worst laws is everyone breaks them with no consequences. And once you break a law, the next one is easier to break.
  6. Only once for us. We did a land trip to first Paris and then Amsterdam. One bag was missing in Amsterdam. And yes, they were compassionate and asked what we needed. They also commented on the airport at Paris. And our bag did find its way back to the hotel we were staying in Amsterdam later. Oh, and it was the only flight that we were charged for baggage. I put in a claim to the credit card we used for the charge for one bag, and the charge was reversed.
  7. We were able to pre-book the Donna Summer show for our Prima cruise this past August. IIRC, I did it by phone. The early show was sold out for our first choice, actually our wedding anniversary, but I was able to pre-book the early show for another date.
  8. I think some people just like worrying and expecting the sky to be falling any minute.
  9. We did that a few times, but it was much harder on our itinerary, London (Southampton) to Reykjavik. We tried to take advantage of deck 8, but we could see how it would have been much better in a warmer climate.
  10. Exactly, the good old law of supply and demand is still in effect.
  11. Economists have been predicting a recession on the horizon for quite a bit of time now, and yet the economy instead just seems to keep growing. Actually, I do not hear those predictions as much now, so maybe we better look out for a recession. 😒 Economists have been less accurate than the people who predict the weather.
  12. There really is no reason to be pessimistic. It is always extended as it is a marketing tool that costs them almost nothing. When the stock tanked after Covid, there were many on these boards who were absolutely positive that it would be gone, or at least they would require double the amount of stock to qualify for the OBC. And of course nothing of the sort happened.
  13. Your last sentence should read "...which it has not been YET."
  14. It has not been extended a full year as it usually is,but has been extended until the end of 2024. That is a far cry from it disappearing as the sky is falling people have been predicting/
  15. It's called the law of supply and demand. As long as cruise ships are sailing full like they seem to be now, the fares will not go down. If you are predicting a recession, that would probably lower fares as there would be less demand. But there have been predictions of a recession for quite a while now, but instead the economy keeps growing.
  16. Booked my own air once and the airline changed a non-stop flight to our cruise destination in Florida to a layover in Dallas. And we would have never got to the cruise on time. (BTW, this was way before Covid, and I think the airlines are even worse about these kind of changes now.) But at least they did inform us, and let us cancel. We ended up booking a different airline.
  17. Is the Donna Summer show back? If not, have they submitted something for it? Is there a lifeguard? On our cruise this summer there was one, the first I had ever seen on a cruise ship. The rules still did read that there was no lifeguard.
  18. Are they listed as actual charges or as holds? If holds, I would not worry as others have posted they should just drop off.
  19. We are all unique individuals. We are somewhat like you in the we look at destination first. But the ship does to some extent matter. For instance, I do not want to go on any of the mega ships, just too large. Entertainment is somewhat important,
  20. If she sang gospel instead of disco, she could sing Amazing Grace---"I once was lost, but now am found."
  21. Same here, for both of us first and last names run together. And it's never been a problem.
  22. I really was not worried, but getting confirmation can't hurt. The cruise is in Europe, the Netherlands and Belgium.
  23. My DW also used to develop film, but of course everything is now digital. And she always brings a camera on our cruises.
  24. I would think in hopefully most jurisdictions if you are willing to work with them, they will accommodate a delay.
  25. I hope spring break should not be a problem on a river cruise with only 120 passengers.
