  1. At least they are all going in the same direction. Otherwise instead of a race, it would be a demolition derby!
  2. Maybe you have seen it put on the agenda before the April meeting, but the Board of Directors would have to vote on it and that happens at the annual meeting.
  3. We went from July 2018 to August 2023. In 2019 instead of a cruise we took a land vacation to Peru including Machu Picchu. In 2020 we had a Norwegian fjords cruise booked for the summer, but we all know what happened to those cruises. In 2021, we saw an itinerary we really wanted and booked it, but the ship was still being built so the cruise was not until 2023. (When we first saw it and did not realize it would be so long until it sailed, we thought it would be perfect for our 45th anniversary in 2022.)
  4. We used a TA, so the notification would go to him. He claimed he never got it, and I believe him. Princess told him that it was sent. So, either it got lost in cyberspace or Princess was not telling the truth.
  5. Yes, I remember reading these kinds of threads and asking our TA who assured me that they would not upgrade us. And sure enough, Princess did an unwanted upgrade to a cabin below a bar. Our TA was not able to get our original cabin back as I found out too late, but at least got us close to where we were with cabins above and below us.
  6. And one who spends a long time in the pool, like my DW, is definitely not a chair hog!
  7. Surely, with your experience, you know the answer---Americans in general expect everyone to follow their lead. Not saying it is right or wrong, just what it is.
  8. And IF the ship is waiting for a ship's excursion to get back, it will also allow any other passengers who would be late to get back on. Note, this is NOT to say you should avoid being vigilant about getting back on time when on a private excursion or doing it yourself, just an observation.
  9. I have no problem adding that to the list of topics that should be avoided.
  10. Why not look for a TA who has actually sailed many times and really does have knowledge of the cruise industry? And that does not even take account of he or she may be able to discount or give OBC and works for you, not the cruise line.
  11. Along with politics, how much you paid for the cruise should be an off limits topic.
  12. It's bailiff. Here, if you have jury duty, you call in the night before and see if your number is called to come in the next day. The last time I had jury duty, I ended up not having to go in at all, but was told when I e-mailed and asked that I had fulfilled my duty and would not be called again anytime soon. But, once long ago, we were all made to wait in an uncomfortable basement. And that included a teacher who said they had come and dragged him out of his classroom!
  13. We are both gold and only received one carton each and that was on the first day. That was on the Prima this past summer.
  14. Control = being able to call the cruise line and talk to a representative who reads from a script, has probably never been on a cruise, and has no power to grant your request. And that assumes you can even understand the representative who is some foreign call center. 🤦‍♂️
  15. 🤦‍♂️, and I thought we had unseasonable weather when it got to 50 today. Raining now, and cooler weather is supposed to be on the way.
  16. You do hope you are not putting your TA through that, and that he or she has their own contact at the cruise line that is knowledgeable and can be dealt with to get answers.
  17. On the Prima this past summer, there were both sinks to wash your hands and a "washy. washy lady" with sanitizer to spritz your hands. You got a smile from here is you did either of the two options.
  18. And don't forget sometimes ports are missed. This could happen for a port that one wishes early disembarkation.
  19. The best teacher I ever had was my 7th grade English teacher. She gave us long lists of books, and you got credit after reading and having her quiz you on the book. 1 point for 7th grade books up to 6 points for 12th grade books. She instilled the love of reading for me by having choice instead of required books to read. And 30 years later, my son had her for 6th grade English. At the middle school open house where you visited your child's teachers, I tried to recite the list of 30 prepositions she had taught us way back then. She then told me the 3 I missed (I thought that was pretty good getting 90% of them right and only losing one for each 10 years), and then told me now she knew why our son looked at her like "I know something you don't" And I have taken this even further off topic. 🤣
  20. We had my $50 credit credited when we booked excursions for our last cruise. The only exception was the excursion to the airport with a stop. That was booked onboard and took a while to show up, but obviously before the excursion as it was an excursion leaving the ship.
  21. They always renew it. It is a marketing tool that costs them next to nothing. After the stock tanked post Covid, these boards were filled with posts saying they would get rid of it or at the least double the amount of stock necessary to obtain the credit. Instead the first time they voted, they extended it 2 years instead of the usual 1.
  22. I was not disbelieving you, or calling you a liar. It was just something I (and I hope everyone) would hope does not happen.
  23. OMG, I hope that is something i just read on the internet that is not true.
