  1. One of my younger brothers and his wife make cards. For my 64th birthday they made me a card with my head at different ages transposed on each of the Beatles. I still have that card over a decade later. 😊😊
  2. We flew Newark to Heathrow and they had us have a layover in Montreal. Our first flight was delayed and the second flight was on time. And the first flight sat at the Montreal airport waiting for a place to park. The second flight was on time, and we had to run to the terminal as the boarding line had already started! The flight back from Reykjavik was non-stop but delayed (not the cruise line's fault.)
  3. But it seems from the answers from @Ferry_Watcher that they do not with the caveat that I am sure that there are cruise lines whose boardings she does not handle.
  4. I don't think you and I are really disagreeing about anything. I think it is more I am trying to look at the issue as if I was doing the same job as @Ferry_Watcher does.
  5. I realize that, but if it was not read the pregnant passenger may not realize that there is such a rule. That is what I was trying to say.
  6. So you can ask, but not follow up. That is how I read your post. And that is the question rather than when is the due date which would allow you to figure the answer. A cruiser unaware of the actual rule might realize the question asked about more than 23 weeks might then realize it could be a disqualification while asking the due date would not give away where the cutoff point is.
  7. 1. I think HIPPA only applies to medical providers. 2. It could be possible that the pregnant potential passenger never read the rule pertaining to pregnancy.
  8. If a woman looks very pregnant, are you or a supervisor allowed to ask when her due date is to confirm that she is less than 23 weeks pregnant? If not satisfied with the answer, can you ask for some sort of proof from her doctor?
  9. I believe the pregnancy rule is not about bothering other passengers. I believe it is more about the ship's medical facilities are not really equipped to handle a premature childbirth. (I am assuming no one would really board with a sailing date that included the due date.)
  10. I can't imagine losing the whole birthday. One year I lost an hour of my birthday because of daylight saving time and carried on (though I was just fooling around) that DW told me to knock it off or else.
  11. That sounds right. The PVSA obviously applies only in the USA, and each country (or perhaps the European Union as a whole) will have their own laws to follow. And no refund is a given.
  12. I think one thing we can all agree on is that would not be an advantageous bargaining position to be in.
  13. This is what happened with me. We had a port cancelled due to an extremely low tide. OK, that is not no reason at all. We had an excursion booked with NCL for that port. I called to get the excursion payment returned to my credit card. I was told that I would be getting non-refundable OBC for the amount, and I should be grateful that I was getting anything. I continued the discussion with the rep pointing out I was not asking for compensation for the missed port, but a return of our money paid for an excursion that they were no longer providing. She finally realized that, and said she had to check with another department and would get back to me. She returned and said it would be treated as I cancelled the excursion and since it was well over the 48 hours that they require for getting a refund the money would be refunded. A happy ending except for missing the port, but note the original reaction was you will get NON-REFUNDABLE OBC for something I had already paid for and was no longer able to be provided by them.
  14. The fact that they can do it according to the contract that their lawyers have written, does not make it right. Is it a coincidence that they seem to do it a day after final payment is due rather than before final payment?
  15. You really think a pizza place has not been affected by inflation? Have you bought groceries lately? The price for their ingredients has skyrocketed. Now it may not be the best analogy, but a pizza place would be one of the hardest hit businesses by inflation.
  16. No, there never was a Dominos here and there used to be a Pizza Hut, but it has closed.
  17. I think the common phrase is "penny wise, and pound foolish".
  18. I voted, but somehow I don't think my 100 shares makes much difference in the outcome. But it does say Your Vote Counts.
  19. I wonder if the bean counters will ever figure out that cutting back on customer service will eventually lose repeat customers for for them.
  20. Although we have disagreed greatly about the Prima, I have to agree with you that that was a disappointment.
  21. I hardly drink and DW does not drink at all. We have enjoyed our cruises on Carnival and several other cruise lines.
  22. Always good to hear the answer from someone at the front lines who would be the one to deal with this sort of "problem". But are all as easy going as you?
  23. No thanks, as I am definitely not interested in Cunard. I thoroughly enjoyed wearing tie dye tee shirts to dinner on NCL last summer. I don't think that works on Cunard. My question was actually rhetorical as I knew it was being questioned on the Carnival boards.
  24. It is usually renewed at the shareholders' meeting for a year. It now seems to be extended for less than a year. Perhaps at the meeting, they will extend it further out to the full year. As for who will remember, wait until next year when the same posters post as they are sure it will not be extended again. 🤣
  25. i went back and forth between giving you a thanks and a smiley. I gave you the thanks, so here is the smiley.😊
