  1. Go for it! They also choose a prom king and queen.
  2. Actually, they dress up as if they were prom goers. I don't remember any audience members doing the same.
  3. They play music that might have played at a prom. The singers also tell funny stories about their experiences at a prom. It is their last show.
  4. We did manage to walk it a few times, but it was less crowded when we did it as we had a cold cruise, London (Southampton) to Reykjavik.
  5. And be sure everyone understands, and then shake hands.
  6. Could you be more specific as to how much smaller? Do you have the dimensions for Syd's for the Prima and for the other ships it is on? There are definitely less passengers on the Prima than the Epci and Breakaway ships.
  7. I definitely learned of Syd's by "word of mouth" by reading threads on the NCL boards before our Prima cruise.
  8. We went up there as well as the observation deck. And yes it would have been to cold to spend the entire time up there.
  9. And I don't blame them; they should have been! Where did everyone go to see the sights from the ship? Even though it was so early, I remember it was very crowded for such a large space.
  10. Why would the line be longer on the Prima than the other NCL ships that have the Syd's Pour House? Don't the other ships that have this larger, with more passengers? Unless the Syd's Pour House is physically smaller on the Prima, wouldn't it logically follow that the lines should be shorter?
  11. We thought our first cruise, a Western Mediterranean cruise for our 25th anniversary would be the trip of our lifetime. But now we are up to 13 cruises, with our first river cruise now coming up. The river cruise will be our 7th to Europe, and we have also been to Europe a few more times with land travel. So that "trip of a lifetime" often adds up to more travel. 😊
  12. Whatever you do, make sure you agree in advance!
  13. In Rosyth for Edinburgh, there was not a tender. And it was a train to Edinburgh, though we got out of the Scottish Military Tattoo to use our return ticket and had to take a taxi. We did have an overnight there.
  14. I was referring to an NCL schedule of future cruises. And they listed real ports, not Rome, Florence, etc. That is why Edinburgh being listed surprised me. And when I asked I was told it was actually Edinburgh and a long tender.
  15. Yes, the sail into Geiranger on the Prima is spectacular. I remember reading a while back about a Prima cruise that gave the entire observation deck to the people selling art. If that was a cruise that went to Geiranger, I could see the passengers just throwing all the art overboard. 🤣 I'm glad NCL realized how wrong that was and freed up the observation deck for passengers to use.
  16. I will second that. Though not staying in Athens or it being an overnight, there was so much to see in Athens.
  17. Yes, and I was surprised when we went to a cruise next lecture on the NCL Prima in which they handed out a schedule of cruises and it did actually mention the real port instead of Rome, Florence, and Paris. I was also surprised given that that Edinburgh was listed. I have seen many other ports as the ports for Edinburgh including Rosyth where we ported from the very small Ocean Princess. I asked the presenter afterwards about this, and she said it was a tender, a very long tender.
  18. Call a travel agent. I am sure they will want your business, and you might even get a discount and/or OBC.
  19. I don't remember there being one. IIRC, deck 8 was the deck you could walk around, but not a running track.
  20. On a different cruise line, we had a fabulous excursion in Ochos Rios, A Bob Marley bus tour.
  21. I actually asked the NCL excursion department on the phone if they had sold excursions for the previous cruises for Isafjordur. They could not, or more likely would not, answer the question.
  22. OK, I guess I am lucky that I can still stand to move my body for rock and roll music. I guess it is genetic as I used to have to drive over to my Mom's house as I knew she would be shoveling the sidewalk and driveway even though she was over 90 years old.
  23. We had the good fortune to do our British Isles cruise on the former Ocean Princess. Such a sweet experience sailing on a ship whose listed capacity was IIRC 670.
  24. I must have been extremely lucky. For the first Syd's show on our Prima sailing this past August, I got there late, and still got in. No seat, but I'd actually rather stand and be able to move my body for rock and roll. The only real line was for the Rumors show. And I did get to speak to 2 of the singers relating some of my experiences at the original Woodstock festival in 1969. I was originally approached by one of them who liked the Grateful Dead tee shirt I was wearing, and said they were her favorite group.
  25. Agree with Geiranger and Alesund. We also enjoyed Bergen. And wouldn't it have been nice to actually port in Isafjordur? 😒 We actually had what we thought would be a fine private tour booked there well before it became evident that the Prima was not going to go to that port any time in 2023.
