  1. Yes, you would hope for common sense. But with thousands of people aboard the new megaships, you wonder if the odds do not say that there will be a few totally lacking in common sense.
  2. Since there is all this talk about books, I just finished this morning Hero by Thomas Perry, a very good read by a very good author. And I am now read The Spider by Lars Kepler, an even better read.
  3. One other thing, I did not consider my writing too when I should have written two as a typo. When I saw it, I thought to myself "doh that was stupid".
  4. There are posts in the forums for other cruise lines where this has been allowed. But it is only allowed when it is approved in advance. And the advice is always to get it in writing and bring that along with you to the ship. Without this being taken care of in advance, there will be problems with immigration as that will not be set up in advance. Also, be aware of the fact that a port can always be missed due to weather. And one last thing, do not expect any return of any part of your cruise fare because you did not do the entire cruise.
  5. Maybe instead of a servant following, we could have a preview button as well as a post button so one could see what his or her posts looks like before posting. I do realize that one can reread it before posting, but sometimes if it is long that is not so easy, and maybe some of us are so jazzed to post our "brilliant" thoughts that we post quickly without rereading. (I am going to reread this before posting.) I do know they have that feature in a football forum I sometimes participate in.
  6. Maybe, but I wrote too instead of two. And I thought that made me look like an uneducated idiot. 😒
  7. Only because it does seem that the discussion of politics is pretty much not happening.
  8. NO, as I said in my previous posts, this would only pertain to one's own posts, not posts by anyone else.
  9. I don't think it would happen often enough to be a lot of work. I want to emphasize I am talking about deleting one's own post, not any post by any other person.
  10. Or at least make the time limit longer. I know recently I was still reading boards when I noticed someone had just reacted to one of my posts. I looked book and noticed I had written too when I should have written two. (dumb mistake 🤦‍♂️) It could not have been that long afterwards, but it was too late to edit, which I found out when I tried. Can you attempt to delete one of your own posts by reporting it and asking the mods to delete it giving your reasons for wanting it to be deleted?
  11. Maybe the tips were needed so they could pay off the parking ticket. 🤦‍♂️
  12. I used this successfully once for a Carnival excursion in Barbados. The comparable excursion did say pick up at the hotel, but I e-mailed them and asked if they would also pick you up at a cruise ship. They e-mailed back yes, and I included that it my request. To the OP wishing you good luck getting it.
  13. That assumes that the various cruise lines do not demand a large discount from the local excursion operators in exchange for using their services and basically guaranteeing many participants to the excursion.
  14. Shhh. I don't think you are supposed to reveal that. I think the US Marshalls would have a fit if they knew you were revealing that.
  15. I don't remember very many people leaving any of the Syd's concerts on our Prima cruise last August.
  16. I started cruising much later. Our first cruise was for our 25th anniversary, so I was 55. DW was younger, but way over 14. LOL
  17. OOPS, too late to edit, but you "too', should be you "two".
  18. NCL dropped a port before we sailed. When I asked for a refund for my pre-booked excursion that I had already paid for, I was first told that I would get non-refundable OBC. When I kept arguing that that was not right, the rep decided to put me on hold and went to another department. She came back and said since I was still within the days allowed to cancel the excursion, I would be getting the refund.
  19. We missed Brugge and Isafjordur last summer. Brugge they said was for extremely low tides. Isafjordur was missed by every sailing on the Prima. The dock was not completed, and the Prima either would not or could not tender.
  20. Only 14, and another poster quoting me was only 11. You too make me feel so old; I was 30 then. 😒 BTW, still married to the same woman, and we celebrated our 46th anniversary last year on a sea day between Norway and Iceland. 😊😊😊😊😊
  21. Elvis died during our honeymoon. Does that count? Actually on our last cruise this past summer one of the questions at one of the trivia contests was when Elvis died. I nailed that one. 😉 In case anyone really needs that information it was August 1977.
  22. We were told by e-mail for our cruise this summer that the port of Zeebrugges for Brugge was going to be missed. And they gave a reason, a very low tide of only 1 foot.
  23. If other passengers ask you about your job, and you tell them that you are one of the ones checking them in when they cruise, I bet they ask you for stories.
