NCL Prima Haven Penthouse Suite with Balcony
Greenpea2 replied to jackieodonnell's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Agree with the under the bed space. The end "drawers" are actually not drawers, they flip up and our big bad suitcases fitted under there fine. Other places along the side of the bed are actual drawers. You will be fine. -
Totally agree. There was plenty of entertainment on the Prima! We went to two shows and if we'd wanted to would have done a lot more than that. We just don't tend to go to a lot of the activities held each day/night.

Thank you for the review. I'm the person who was in tears and getting lost all the time. Maybe it was finding the Haven that made it hard. But I most certainly was not the only one on the cruise concerned about finding my way around. People talked about it in the elevators, on the sun decks, the subject came up in many conversations throughout our cruise. No one was mad or upset, we all just kind of "took the hit" and loved the Prima anyway! What's that phrase? YMMV, that's it. We never found it at all (and I mean at ALL) crowded in the Food Republic, and the service was excellent and the food some of the best we had onboard. We went three times and just walked in spur of the moment, Hudson's for us was wonderful. Great service, absolutely no rushing us at all and wonderful food! Reviews are always interesting, I think, no matter if you agree or disagree with the experience. As long as you keep in mind that experiences can be very different for different people.

New to NCL just a few minor questions
Greenpea2 replied to LatinaInTexas's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Yes, someone corrected me. Not yet. -
How much actual cash would you suggest bringing?
Greenpea2 replied to SYH's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Agree. Usually bring about $400 in twenties plus a bunch of ones, fives, and some tens. I've never needed it all but like knowing I have it "just in case." -

Oh, ok. I did not realize. Thank you! -
This is very cool. Thanks!

I know! Ours too! But maybe people who do a lot of room service throw more stuff away...other than that I don't see what trash they would have. The dailies?

NCL Main Dining Rooms does not have changing menus anymore. But we were very pleased with the choices and I think you will be too. As someone said, several items do change. Most stay the same but, for example, the pasta dishes can be mixed and matched re type of pasta, type of sauce, meat added, etc. So that equals a number of different dishes right there. I know some people preferred the different-every-night menus but we were quite happy with the new ones. And I think it actually makes a lot of sense. -
Long Review of Celebration, March 26-April 2
Greenpea2 replied to Astromaid's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I appreciate that you took the time to do this. I am a "Norweenie" (I pretty much stick with NCL) but do have a cruise booked next year on the Celebration. I am trying to get myself familiar with how Carnival does things so this was helpful. Last time I cruised on Carnival was more than 25 years ago! So it's good to bone up on what they are all about now. -
Prima = Boring and Still Needs Work by NCL
Greenpea2 replied to The Admiral's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
For grab and go breakfast items (including coffee), there was a table set up against the wall in the restaurant. We never looked for coffee or snacks later in the day but I would imagine it was in the same place. -
I think it was about an hour. Maybe a little longer.

Prima = Boring and Still Needs Work by NCL
Greenpea2 replied to The Admiral's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
We loved the Prima and the Haven! And the Haven restaurant. If you did not know beforehand that the restaurant menu does not change, and you assumed it did, then I can understand your disappointment. But research research research is my way. No surprises. The food and service was wonderful. The Haven on the Prima is (in my opinion, as reviews are at least 50% based on opinions) the most gorgeous of the various NCL ships I have been on. Outstanding in every way. We were lucky enough to catch the final show of Noise Boys, which was the best cruise line show I have seen. The Donna Summer show, not so much. But in my experience shows on any cruise line are iffy. We don't look for nightly entertainment--we entertain ourselves, I guess. We have a nice dinner, have drinks somewhere, stop by the casino, have more drinks, hang out at the Haven bar, then bed. -
Another question about Internet package upgrade.
Greenpea2 replied to screenname2004's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
On our recent cruise I upgraded (before the cruise) and my DH kept the 150 minutes. No matter what you do, the internet is never great but usually (meaning not near always) good enough. But his 150 minutes translatated into no more than 20 minutes of actually being online due to the slowness. So if you want internet--upgrade. That's my advice. 🙂 -
In person Muster Drills changing 4/1/2023?
Greenpea2 replied to nmuller328's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Our cruise a couple of weeks ago had the in-person muster plus the mandatory video in the stateroom. And honestly? I would have no idea what to do after watching/attending either one. The closest I have come to knowing what to do was when you had to meet where your particular life boat was. Al least I knew where too go then! -

That all looks sooo good! Very happy you enjoyed it. We never did get to Le Bistro this time, darn it. -
GSC - Silver Cove, 2 Questions
Greenpea2 replied to Maleficent's Dad's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
There were 3 or four big bunches of the yellow floats neatly placed and spaced apart on the beach in front of our row of cabanas. Each bunch had probably 6 or more. I did not count. No indication of any certain number for each villa, but there were plenty in use and still some left. The water will be replaced as needed. Same with the coffee and coffee supplies. We also asked for more of the salsa that came with chips. No problem getting more of that either.
