  1. So do you quarantine yourself for 2 weeks? I just got back from a cruise and I have not. So why am I selfish and you are not? I'm merely trying to point out that life has to go on to a large degree and as long as a person is vigilant and careful, that's really all you can do.
  2. Apparently you don’t live in a city or have to work outside of the home. But there are millions of people in a very different reality from that.
  3. I get your point. But I don't see this as realistic. There are a lot of petri dish situations. Just going to the grocery store. Riding a bus. Taking a plane. Going to the movies. Where do you draw the line at doing something and then quarantining yourself?
  4. Why should anyone quarantine themselves after a cruise if there has been no illness attributed to it?
  5. More to come soon on our day at GSC. Best day of the cruise!
  6. OK, thanks. It is kind of expressed in a roundabout way, being more susceptible to respiratory illnesses in general (which makes sense to me), rather than specifically for the coronavirus. That's why I was confused. Have not read a direct correlation, which this hints at.
  7. Incorrect. The elderly who contract it are at greater risk for complications and death.they don’t contract it easier. If you have a source that says otherwise, Can you share it?
  8. We saw our butler several times each day on our recent Bliss cruise. He was in the halls doing his butler thing and always happy to see us. Sometimes I left a post-it on the door requesting something if i didn't see him then off we would go somewhere. Every time we go back, 30 minutes or hours later it had been done. So he was around, clearly. But yes, I agree--Day 2 you should ask the Concierge for sure if you have not met him or her.
  9. Just off the Bliss 3/1 and totally agree. I had the upgraded "unlimited internet" plan. It was indeed awful. Worst ever on a ship for me. They really need to get with the times and do something, whether or not it's like this on other cruise lines. It was very frustrating.
  10. Ocean Blue: We liked the food but were not in any way blown away by it. Same with the restaurant itself. It was, like the food, nice. But no real atmosphere. We’d hoped to eat outside at least one time, but the weather never seemed conducive to that on this cruise. The bread, as reported elsewhere, was wonderful! Yum. I had the hog belly thing as an appetizer and Sistah had the crispy shrimp. She loved the shrimp—I sampled it and totally agreed it was great. The hog belly was good, not wonderful. For entrée I had mild white fish broiled (I think, can’t remember, but it was not fried) and she ordered fried seafood platter. My fish was very tasty and just as I like it—tender, mild, and not a big portion. Sistah was not in love with the fried platter—there was just so much she couldn’t make much headway. She felt it was overkill in terms of fried anything. I might eat there again, but since there are so many other choices, I’d rather aim for a dinner with the “Wow” factor, which this was not for us. Pictures coming up.
  11. Kevin, I agree. It was such a beautiful ship and so good to have at least a few days of warmth! Definitely having cruise withdrawal here.
  12. Well, I don't know for sure. But the other restaurants always asked if I was using my SDP. Those where I did say I was using my Latitudes coupon, never limited us. OB is not a part of the Latitudes dining coupon and they limited us (and I have since remembered they were indeed one of the 2 that did so). Le Bistro is part of the Latitudes coupon thing and asked me (I said yes)--and never said anything. The whole thing is confusing I think.
  13. I was just on the Bliss. We were told--without asking--at Cagney's (and one other place, I think Ocean Blue) that we could select 1 appetizer, 1 starter (soup OR salad), 1 entree, 1 dessert (and at Cagney's multiple sides). I had brought the T&C on the cruise but frankly did not want to argue or eat more than that anyway. My point is, it depends on the ship/restaurant and probably the server. And whether you want to deal with the situation of getting more.
  14. I was just on the Bliss. I can tell you that we were told (without asking) in 2 of the restaurants (Cagney's and one other, I think Ocean Blue) that we could order 1 appetizer, 1 starter (soup or salad), 1 entree, and 1 dessert (and in Cagney's, multiple sides). I had brought the T&C on the cruise in anticipation of this... but honestly? Did not want to argue, especially since we didn't want more than that anyway. I will post this on the big thread as well.
  15. Specialty Dining Package note: I know there is a big thread about this and various other ones regarding what is included. I can tell you that we were told (without asking) in 2 of them (Cagney's and one other, I think Ocean Blue) that we could order 1 appetizer, 1 starter (soup or salad), 1 entree, and 1 dessert (and in Cagney's, multiple sides). I had brought the T&C on the cruise in anticipation of this... but honestly? Did not want to argue, especially since we didn't want more than that anyway. I will post this on the big thread as well.
