Depends on the ship. On the Excel class the thermal suite is nowhere near the pool. It's on Deck 5 and the Lido Deck is 16.

TBH that's a no brainer upgrade even if you only use the thermal suite for one day.

That seems to be a recent change regarding choosing between a pre-selected choice of ship excursions or $300/cabin spa credit across the fleet. As recently as last November I was on an Elite cruise on the 1st US cruise on the Celebration and was able to choose a spa credit instead of an excursion.

Correct, those specific toiletries are provided in ALL cabin classes on all Celebrity ships. The brand of toiletries will differ according to cabin class.
