Saint Greg's Venezia Transatlantic May 29, 2023

Doesn't matter. I regularly see people come into the buffet with no shirt or shoes, literally dripping wet. And even worse when I was on the Celebration last November someone left a seat in the buffet sopping wet which you couldn't tell and thus I got my shorts all wet from sitting there! -
Apex, where can we get regular black coffee besides buffet?

I'm trying to think where on the Edge Class ships they may have temporary morning coffee setups, but I'm at a loss to think of a place that's consistent across the current three ships. -

Where are you implying it was on the Silhouette? -
While they are open to the walkway, the loungers face outwards towards the windows (Which create a different set of issues of being too warm at times) and along the walkways are floor to ceiling 'headboards' so people at not looking at you laying on the towel loungers. So soundwise there may be intrusions but privacy-wise it's fine.

Correct, there's regular drip coffee during breakfast and lunch openings. As to this thread's main question, on all Celebrity ships complementary drip coffee is limited. It's the buffet, Spa Cafe, Eden Cafe, MDR's,room service. -

La Strada Grill is a substitute for Guy's Pig and Anchor Barbeque then? -

So is Amari just the Alchemy Bar in Italian duds or is it something else, for better or worse? -

I LOVED that club! Some interesting gossip related to the Limelight Disco. I was working as a Sales Manager at a bank nearby and one of the infamous club kids from that club, Michael Alig, walked into the bank. I helped him open an account and he asked about getting a mortgage to buy an apartment. I renumerated the things he would need and he told me that he had a benefactor that would cosign the mortgage. The benefactor would be Limelight's owner, Peter Gatien. This was all before Michael was a murderer and killed a fellow Limelight club kid. I have lots of other stories from working at that bank in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. -

I would agree with you on Carnival and most other cruiselines but a BIG exception with Virgin Voyages. Their pastries and sweets are as good as they look and are specialty bakery quality. -

I appreciate the compliment! My husband and I have been very, very fortunate to have been able to take early retirement (the last time I worked at my financial services job was in Oct. 2004!) and traveling is how we enjoy spending our freetime. Whatsmore for me, half the enjoyment is travel planning. I use the various online travel forums as a way to engage with others. While I could have become a travel agent or an online travel influencer for ME that would be a job, and would take the enjoyment out providing travel information and helping others. I've been traveling internationally as an adult since the early 1980's so I've accumulated decades of travel experiences. Sharing that knowledge along with learning new things from others is what keeps me going. -

On the Vista Class ships for this show they have several tables setup in the front of the theater(Remember on the Vista Class the theaters have moveable seats) so it looks like a faux 1920's niteclub. If you volunteer and are chosen to sit in one of those tables they give out some props to further the 1920's Cotton club vibe. -

OK, I've been to Ponte Delgada several times but haven't done this tour. This looks AMAZING. A must do next time I'm there; thanks you for showing us this. Here's a wonderful video of a more comprehensive view of what Saint Greg witnessed today. -
Did they actually upgrade the TVs or are they the same smaller flat screens from last year?

Just as an aside Bilbao itself is a wonderful city and the Guggenheim museum is just amazing. Having said that the ship pier for Bilbao is actually in the town of Getxo. When we were there last year we walked to the local train station in Getxo and took the train into Bilbao. For ME, Bilbao and the Guggenheim was the highlight of this particular itinerary on last years Pride cruise. -
I think having young kids influences the focus of whatever kind of touring one does.

What Cities in Europe do is a type of tree pruning that's called Pollarding. Basically it is to keep the tree at a stunted height and size by consistently trimming EVERY branch off of the tree EVERY Fall. What this does is force the tree to grow new shoots every year to create this beautiful full leaf foliage for the Spring and summer season, only to be all chopped off in the Fall. That's why the trees look so ugly in the winter. The beauty of this type of tree trimming is the size of the tree will stay the same year after year for DECADES and even hundreds of years. The problem is you must trim it every Fall for this technique to work. Europe has high taxes which allow municipal governments to consistently devote resources to trimming their cities trees. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pollarding -
You have to remember the Spaniards value leisurely mealtimes so if you're in a rush you must do fast-food in Spain.

Are you implying that on your cruise the Elite happy hour was ONLY in the Sky Lounge and it wasn't available at all bars? If so to me that would be a setback. -

I'm not sure what you're talking about but the Elite Happy Hour was Never 'done away' with but has been PERMANENTLY altered to be available at all bars except for a select few. It will NEVER RETURN to it being a private event in the Sky Lounge. I'm not sure what you're referring to about the Elite event reappearing based on the number of Elite and higher since the event never was eliminated but instead was it changed. Your information is all totally incorrect. -

Food prices overall in Spain are very low compared to the States.
