  1. All cabins on all ships in the Celebrity fleet have bar soap and you can as many bars as you want. Celebrity doesn't use liquid hand soap in the cabin bathrooms. That's what the bar soap is for. You can get more for the shower and when you run out.
  2. Most likely the shuttle bus will drop you off at the little circle near where the restaurant Themel is on the map. With all the people getting off the bus it will behove you to walk up that main St 2 blocks to the big traffic circle near where the McDonald's is located. That's where we got our Uber. On the way back we got a Taxi from Porto and they are allowed to drop people off right at the cruise terminal. They just can't pick up at the cruise terminal. At least that was the rules last year. We actually walked from the cruise terminal to the port entrance since the shuttle bus was full. But the road is narrow and there's no proper walkway, so not pedestrian friendly nor safe
  3. How do you plan to get to the library? FYI when we were there last year it took awhile to get a cab or Uber , so just heads a up.
  4. IMO across all cruiselines the +/-90,000 ton ship Class ship is the penultimate size cruise ship. Carnival Spirit Class, Royal Radiance Class, NCL Jewel Class. At 90,000 tons it's big enough to offer a few bells and whistles but small enough not to be overwhelming.
  5. This is what the locker room looked like on the Pride. This is where the lockers are.
  6. Thank you, but just to clarify was the locker room actually given a facelift/renovated?
  7. Were you actually able to get into the spa locker rooms? Seems like those were totally updated and the steam and saunas stayed but not working yet? Is this the case?
  8. For all the hype of changing Davids to Fahrenheit 555 all I see is them removing the David statute and MAYBE reupholstering the banquets on the upper level.
  9. Correct. Yes that's a GREAT NCL benefit. MSC has something similar.
  10. When one first becomes Diamond Level one of the welcome benefits is a free specialty dinner for two of your choice.
  11. All the courses look great! The prime rib looks like a perfect temperature for me.
  12. Yours must be from an older giveaway then? As you can see these were clearly a VIFP loyalty gift, as was the nightlight above them.
  13. If that's really how you feel then while lug it on vacation with you?
  14. I hear you on that one. Having work done as we speak myself. Stress! Had new sidewalks poured. The expansion joints (those lines in the concrete) don't all look perfectly straight. I expected better since the company we chose works on major renovation projects on commercial buildings in downtown Philly. And it's ridiculously expensive! We'll see how this gets remedied.
  15. Oh boy! Sorry your treatment wasn't as relaxing as to should have been. Looks like a total remodel of the Spa locker rooms. History shows two tracks they could follow. On the Sunshining Mega-drydocks initially they were removing all the single sex steam and saunas and replacing them with just a small single sex sauna. The locker rooms resembled what was on the Vista Class ships. Then starting with the Sunrise (and I assume the Radiance) they no longer put in a single sex saunas in each locker room but put in one co-ed sauna outside the entrances to the locker rooms. I suspect they will do the latter here, but anything is possible. Even on the Excel Class ships there is one co-ed sauna that's available for everyone to use, so I suspect and HOPE they will at LEAST provide one co-ed one, especially since there's no thermal suite on Spirit class ships and there isn't room to create a brand new Thermal Suite (But then again anything's possible!) Edit: The Deck plans on Carnival's website for the Pride, which is the updated version, still show individual steam and sauna rooms in each locker room(the whirlpool is not showing) so there's hope those will survive the remodel. It would make sense since there isn't room for a full thermal suite.
  16. A large part of the issue is the amount of banks that the US has. We are literally the only country that has THOUSANDS of banks. A quick Google search shows Canada has over 80 different banks while the US has over 4,000 different banks! The consequence is competition and no agreements for industry standards.
  17. We had this on the Pride last summer in Europe. He was there for several days,I don't remember exactly how many, but I never got around to finding the right time when there wasn't a line of people waiting to have their picture drawn. I know it was a complementary service but I wasn't sure if it was something the ship provided or he was just doing it on his own(My guess it's ship provided). Either way it's a really nice extra!
  18. That looks yummy! We had a great Diamond lunch last November on the Celebration. It was our first since turning Diamond and we will look forward to that on our next Carnival cruise. I can do without the cocktail parties and TBH we don't attend those anymore.
  19. I have the same photo of the ships mural taken last year when I was on the Pride on Tuesday, May 31,1022!!!
  20. TBH it's been that way in Europe for decades. I first went to Europe in the early 80's and they already had the handheld credit card machines.
  21. This is the same as it was last year. My most recent Carnival cruise was the Celebration in November, so unfortunately regarding news channels it's still just CBS News.
  22. It's a style that the Chinese market likes when associated with things European. True Italian styling is very modern. Remember, this ship was meant for CHINA, not Italy, so the interior design reflects what THE CHINESE associates with Venice and Italy in general. If you checkout Costa Toscana, the cruiseline's flagship meant for Italians, it's nothing remotely like the Venezia. It's modern, bright, and sleek. Checkout the photos in the link : https://www.cruisingjournal.com/en/photo/costa-toscana-photos-of-the-new-costa-flagship https://www.cruisingjournal.com/en/photo/costa-toscana-photos-of-the-new-costa-flagship
  23. That would be a major change in TV programming from last year. Previously the CBS News channel was the only channel for any kind of news information and it was sorely lacking.
